Video Transcript for Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit RP30126 Review

Today we're going to review part number RP30126. This is the Reese Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for the Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches. This is a custom fit part number. It is designed to fit the Ford F-250, the F-350, the F-450 super duty trucks with either the short bed or the long bed starting in the year 2011. This is a custom underbed rail kit and it'll provide full access of your truck bed once the hitch is removed and it features Reese's easy and secure Power Puck mounting system. Basically just the four pucks will be shown in your truck bed and if you pop off the covers that I have installed in there, you'll see the openings where the hitch will drop right in, lock into place and then when you're done, you just pull it out, put the covers back in and you have full access of your truck bed. Now this installation kit is designed for use with the Reese Elite Series and the Signature Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches. The Signature Series which is the older model that this will work with, but an adapter kit is required.

It's part number RP58419. We do sell that on our website. Now also this system is pretty much specifically designed for the Elite Series Underbed Gooseneck Hitch and we do sell that Elite Series Gooseneck Hitch, part number RP30138 and that is sold separately also on our website. Now the rails. Now for demonstration purposes, I have installed the side brackets to the rails to show you what it's going to look like under the truck. Basically these underbed rails, they'll provide complete access to your truck bed when the hitch is removed.

These rails will be under the bed so they're not exposed and basically just four small mounting holes will be showing in your truck bed and that'll be the Power Puck system which will allow quick, simple mounting and removal of the hitch. As you can see, it's a very wide platform design which ensures absolute hitch stability. It is a vehicle-specific design so when you install these brackets and the rails, the installation time is sometimes cut in half. Mainly when you compare it to the universal design systems that are out there because this design, the custom fit design, will require less drilling. These brackets will mount on the outside of the vehicle frame rails and the cross numbers sit along the top of the vehicle frame rails but underneath the truck bed. All these parts are a black powder coat steel finish which will help resist corrosion. The rails, the installation hardware, all the brackets and the hardware shown here are all included. Again, the specs on this, the application is for Reese Elite Series and Signature Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches and the capacity on these rails is 25,000 pounds. That should do it for the review on part number RP30126, the Reese Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for the Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitches.

Went in very easily in a 2011 super duty long bed - by myself, installation took about five hours for hitch rails and in-bed 7 pin connector that came as a kit with 18K head, but i was moving slowly. Head unit came pre-assembled. The rails themselves are very heavy, much heavier than my old above bed rails - I have no doubt this will last forever. It'll be nice to have the whole bed of my truck without rails in the way - there is absolutely nothing that rises above the bed floor. 22506

First, your customer service rep was the best. She was extremely helpful and very pleasant. Secondly, the hitch shipped so fast (we were in a hurry for it) so that was very wonderful! We installed the product the same night as we received it, the instruction were very straight forward and made installation easy. And we're now ready to pick up our new fifth wheel. Thanks again for all of your help! These comments also apply to product RP30142 the fifth wheel hitch with wiring harness. 48892

Customer service was excellent. Product was back ordered, but etrailer kept me up to date on the progress and expected shipment date. Package arrive in great condition. Instructions were easy to follow and installation time was about four hours. Removing spare tire makes the installation much easier. 118114

Once I loosened the truck bed it was very easy to get your unit installed. Everything went together as advertised and it fit all the bolt holes perfectly. I installed the Reese Elite hitch on the unit and will be picking up our new camper in April to start our first of 3 cross country adventures. 175845

Received package that had a lot of tape at both ends and wondered wtf. Then I tried to move it and then knew why. HEAVY. Was missing two pucks. but everything went together and had no problems. Good product and will let you know when I get the other 2 pucks. 163491

Took a long afternoon to get it in, parts are massive. Haven't had the 150 ft lb torque wrench out in years. I am going to enjoy hitching without those rails in the way all the time. 159990

  • Reese Elite Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for a 2012 Ford F350 with Hitch Prep Package
  • If you have the fifth wheel prep package you should already have the under rail system installed on your vehicle and all you would need is a hitch to install in that system. Since you have a toy hauler that weighs 19,000 lbs you will want a Reese Elite Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30143.
