Stacked-plate heat exchangers have long been considered the most effective type of oil or transmission coolers, primarily because of their increased surface area. Allowing fluid to spread out over this larger surface area decreases the time required for heat transfer to take place. As a result, plate coolers typically manage to cool a greater volume of fluid faster than tube-and-fin, or even plate-and-fin, varieties. Add to that a powerful tornado fan that ensures optimum airflow at all times, no matter the environment, and you have a super-efficient heat exchange unit.
The sandwich adapter in this kit provides the external oil lines necessary to install a cooler without requiring you to move the factory spin-on oil filter, making it even easier to extend the life of your vehicle's engine. In addition, the thermostatic bypass feature allows oil cooler than 180 degrees to bypass the heat exchanger, so your engine will warm up faster.

- Will Adding an Engine oil Cooler Reduce Engine Temperature on a 2004 Chevy Silverado
- Cooling the oil might have a small effect on the overall temperature of the engine as a whole, but it will not be very much. If the truck is running hot, there could be a problem with the thermostat. If that checks out, you may need to add additional fans for more airflow. I have included a link to our fan main page and some FAQ articles for you to view.
But, that is not to say that adding an engine oil cooler is not necessary or is a bad idea. I think it will help to extend the life of the e

- Engine Oil Cooler Mounting Location Options for a 1994 Chevy Camaro
- I own a 1998 Pontiac Trans Am and have a very large transmission cooler plus an underhood ram-air kit (Fast Toys Ram Air) that blocks about 50% of the direct air flow that would go through the radiator and I have had no cooling problems. The cooling fans on our F-body cars are very powerful for cooling the radiator fluid and you should not have a problem with airflow through the radiator.
Also, our bottom breather style radiators are very efficient. You will notice that most modern cars have

- Can a Remote Engine Oil Cooler be Installed on a 2005 Ford F-150
- Engine oil coolers are not vehicle specific so you can install one provided you have enough space under the hood to mount it in your 2005 Ford F-150 AND the kit comes with the correct fittings. A remote cooler like # D15660 that you referenced has an advantage because it contains its own fan so it can be mounted it alternative locations that other coolers cannot go.
This kit comes with a universal thermostatic sandwich adapter and multiple sleeve nuts to ensure the proper thread size. Make su
