Video Transcript for Review of Polar Hardware Trailer Door Hinges - Piano Hinge 2 inch Wide by 6 feet Long - H200

Hello neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at this two-inch wide continuous hinge, and it is six feet long, overall. Now, this hinge, folks, is gonna provide you a nice, sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet door or panel. And again, this continuous design is gonna offer more support than your smaller, individual hinges. Everything's one single piece, so it's gonna be much, much sturdier. Now this will give you a 270 degree pivot point.

I'll zoom in here and show you that, so it can pivot 270 degrees. That's gonna give you full opening and closing. Now this is a weld-on or bolt-on installation. If you're bolting it on, obviously you're gonna have to drill a hole through it because it is one solid piece, but you can do that and then bolt it on. It is a very sturdy, 16-gauge heavy duty steel.

It's gonna be very durable, long lasting. It's made here in the USA. Again, it is six feet long and it's two inches wide. So each side of this is one inch, so one inch there, and one inch on that side. Now the pin diameter itself is three 16th of an inch, and the individual knuckle lengths are one inch.

So, two of these is one knuckle and that's one inch. Well, folks, that's gonna do it for our look at this two-inch wide continuous hinge, it's six feet long. I'm Steven, thanks for watching and have a great day.

It all worked as I had intended, although I suppose it would have helped to have pre-drilled countersunk screw holes on the flanges. . .but I guess welding these in place is common.
My old hinge was seriously rusted, but of course the factory welds still held. So after cutting and grinding, I got the door free, drilled some screw (and bolts on one side) holes.
Aligning is always a problem when the hinge flange is hidden when closed. I experimented with blocking the door into the correct position, guessed a little on some screw locations and finally settled on what might work.
Although I have bolt heads visible on the outside, the door works. That's what counts. It is after all a horse trailer! . .

  • Replacement Tire and Wheel Needed for a 16x6.50-8 Size Tire
Your current tire should have a diameter of 16" with a section width of 6-1/2". The tire size and wheel with a 4 on 4" bolt pattern that we have is the Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel # AM3H200. The diameter of this tire is 16-1/2" while the section width is slightly over 6-1/2" (6.6"). It has a load range of C (800 lbs at 70 psi) and a max speed rating of 65 mph. You can verify that you have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern by measuring from the center of one bolt hole to...

  • Can Size 4.80/4.00-8 Tires on Trailer Be Safely Replaced With 165/65-8 Tires
The Kenda # AM3H200, like the majority of trailer tires is rated for a maximum speed of 65 mph. The 165/65-8 tire size is 16.5 inches in diameter and 6.6 inches wide, while your original 4.80/4.00-8 tires are close in diameter at 16.1 inches but are a good deal narrower at 4.7 inches wide. Since the 165/65-8 tires would extend 1 inch closer toward the trailer frame on the inside, they'll work if you have enough clearance to the inside of the tire. The # AM3H200 165/65-8 tire would also...

You are absolutely correct that the two different tire sizes, 16.5x6.5-8 and 165/65-8, are in fact the same size, the latter being the modern metric designation. The part you referenced, Kenda # AM3H200, is a 165/65-8 bias-ply tire/wheel with a 4-on-4-inch bolt pattern in Load Range C. • Recommended Trailer Tire That is Over 5 Inches Wide and Under 17 Inches Diameter
I have the perfect wheel and tire combo for you. For this you are going to want to use a 165/65-8 tire. A 165/65-8 tire is going to be 1.4" wider and .4" taller than a 4.80/4.00-8 tire. The total dimensions of a 165/65-8 tire are 5.4" wide x 16.5" diameter. I recommend using the Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM3H200 which as the title states, has a 165/65-8 tire on a 8" diameter wheel. This wheel has a 4 on 4" bolt pattern that is compatible with 1/2"-20...

  • Can Wider Wheel/Tire Combo Be Used On Snobird Trailer
We do have a tire/wheel combination that may work for your Snobird trailer. If you have zero offset on the tires you have, the section width of a 4.80/4.00-8 tire is 4.7 inches. I recommend the Kenda Bias Trailer Tire With 8 Inch Wheel, part # AM3H200. This combo has a 4 on 4 wheel bolt pattern and the section width of the tire is 6.6 inches. With zero offset, that would add about .95 inches width to the inside and also to the outside. Zero offset means the rim of the wheel is directly...

  • Will an ST165/65-8 Trailer Tire Fit In Place of a 4.80-8 Trailer Tire
The measurement you are seeking is the backspacing. On just the wheel included with tire and wheel combo # AM3H200, would be approximately 3-1/4 inches measured from the mounting surface of the wheel to outside of the wheel (inboard or outboard since the wheel has a zero offset). The width of the tire though will be 6.6 inches. This is 2 inches wider than the 4.80-8 tires and wheels. The larger size will be 1 inch closer to the trailer frame. But it will only be 0.2 inches closer to the fender.

  • Trailer Tire Size Close to 4.80-8 Tire Overall Diameter
The special trailer tire size 4.80-8 does have an overall diameter of right around 16-inches when the tire is mounted on the rim and inflated. The other popular trailer tire size that has about the same overall diameter is the 165/65-8 size, which is about 16-1/2-inches overall diameter. • Replacing A 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 Wheel/Tire With A 18.5 x 8.5 - 8 Wheel/Tire
In order to account for the new tire and wheel size, you will want to take a few measurements. A 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 wheel is 5.3" wide with an overall height of 16.5". A 18.5 x 8.5 - 8 wheel is 7" wide with an overall height of 18.3". Therefore, the 18.5 x 8.5 - 8 setup will be 1.6" wider and 1.8" taller than the 16.5 x 6.5 - 8 setup. • Wider Replacement for a 4.80/4.00-8 Trailer Tire
The best wider replacement option we have for a 4.80/4.00-8 trailer tire is a 165/65-8 trailer tire which is going to be pretty much the same overall diameter (16.1" vs. 16.5") so .4" larger but 2" wider (4.6" vs. 6.6"). If you have a 4 on 4" bolt pattern then I recommend the Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM3H200 but if you have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern then I recommend the Kenda 165/65-8 Bias Trailer Tire with 8" White Wheel part # AM3H220.

The # AM3H200 is a 165/65-8 (old size 16.5x6.5-8) and the # AM3H290 is size 215/60-8 which used to go by 18.5x8.5-8. I hope that's cleared it up for you.

  • What is the Offset for 8" Trailer Wheels with 4 on 4" Bolt Pattern
It all kind of depends on what exact tire/wheel combo you're looking at, but generally speaking trailer wheels have a zero offset so the middle of the tire is basically directly over where you mount it to the hub. If you can tell me what exact combos you're looking at I can answer your question a little more directly. The 2 combos I saw that match your descriptions are # AM3H290 and # AM3H200 which both have a zero offset.

For this mounted on a 4 lug wheel you'd want # AM3H200 or for a 5 lug # AM3H220. This would give you right at one more inch of clearance between the frame and the tire.
