Kind of useless. Even with the butterfly flap closed there is so much space for water to get in no matter how you mount it. Would not recommend. Spend a little more and get a better one.23425

Product as expected, but the costomer service was SECOND TO NONE. Got an e-mail when the order was received, when the order was filled, when it was shipped, and when it was delivered. Order was made late, late one night - shipped the next day - received at the house the next. Takes a lot to impress me, but etrailer.com impressed me.8404

To install the 7-1/2 Inch Round Butterfly Vent, # 371800, you will need to drill or cut a hole in your trailer that is 5-7/8 inches diameter to no more than 6 inches diameter. If you have access to a hole saw this size for a drill the wold be the cleanest way to cut the hole. A smaller hole could be used, but the butterfly may rub on the trailer sides if a smaller hole is used. Is the Butterfly Vent Waterproof and Will it Stay Closed or Open
This Butterfly Vent # 371800 that you referenced is not waterproof. If the vent was on the side of the trailer it would not get direct water sprayed at it when it is raining so it should not let too much moisture through. If you left the vent in either the open or closed position it would move. The amount of friction in the vent assembly would prevent it from moving just from the vibrations of the trailer rolling down the road. Installation of Redline Butterfly Vent # 371800
On the Redline Butterfly Vent, part # 371800, the location of the nob does not really matter, usually on either side. We recommend to install the butterfly vent on the trailer so that the triangular openings of the vent are parallel to the ground, with one triangular opening to the front of the trailer and the other triangular opening to the rear of the trailer.
