Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System

No more guessing, no more getting in and out of the truck, with the Swift Hitch wireless camera system hooking up to your trailer has never been easier. To use, simply place the camera with its powerful magnetic base on the back of your vehicle. Then watch your hitch ball and trailer line up while you back up. And if you get confused turning the opposite way of what you see on the 2-1/2" color LCD screen, simply reverse the image to make hooking up even easier. The camera even works while hitching up at night with its infrared lights.

The Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System has many other great uses too! It works great as a backup camera on RVs, fifthwheel campers and enclosed cargo trailers. RV'ers can use it to help when adjusting the satellite reception for the tv. Construction workers, plumbers and electricians can use the small infrared camera to view into tight dark spaces. When backing your boat into the water, the camera can be placed at the end of your boat so you know when you can launch it. Mount the camera on the hood of your truck to make hooking up your snowplow a breeze. The small, lightweight, wireless camera with lights can be mounted on a pole or stick to give you endless viewing possibilities even in the dark.

This is a great gadget to have, especially when I need to "do it myself"! Works just as stated, and I will be using it also to keep an eye on my horse while in transit, and at a campsite- hope it works well with night vision. I ordered from etrailer, and received it in2 business days! Awesome!80037

Wish camera would pick up trailer hitch when vehicle is around 6 ft away. Hard to see screen in bright day light. Needs AC charger.79061

Product works as advertised. My only issue is the dynamic light level is not very good, it washes out in bright sunlight and loses all the information. The display is not very bright in the daylight either, kind of like all the LCD cameras these days just not as good. The nighttime IR works well (as well as IR does), switches automatic and the display is Ok if ya put on your readers :) Otherwise it works well, took the initial charge just fine. The magnetic base is strong enough to hold the camera on my vehicle. Things a are a lot smaller than shown in the literature but Ok.75104

Great when the camera and receiver are not too far apart. I tried using it on the end of my 21 foot travel trailer. The picture had interference and was not helpful that far away. It would work great for simply hooking up the trailer though. Nonetheless, I was hoping for a back-up camera I could use when backing the trailer.73358

Great courteous service from Etrailer. I have done limited testing with the Swift Hitch backup camera system. It does work, the picture is a little washed out and has an annoying white lines rolling through it when more than several feet separate the camera and receiver. I blamed cordless phones first but found out that shutting off my Wi-Fi eliminated the problem. I also have this problem to a lesser extent outdoors, our neighborhood is saturated with Wi-Fi's some stronger than mine. I don't expect a problem when camping. Paul59559

This did NOT work for my 40 foot motor coach. Had to return it. It may work OK for a very small vehicle with LOTS of windows for the signal to reach the receiver. I will use a wired camera system which will give me the picture quality I need to hitch up my trailer.58239

I received the unit today. I am looking for a way to mount the camera because my truck bed is aluminum and a diamond plate finish so no smooth surface.53472

This little thing is sweeeeeeeeeeeet. I charged it up last night and tried it out today. I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 with extended cab. I have 2 trailers. An enclosed tag along trailer and a 14,000 lb gooseneck flatbed. I was able to use it for both trailers. The tag along as per instructions mount right below the tailgate latch. Nailed it first time. NO MORE jumping in and out to line my hitch. The gooseneck I actually attached abt 2 ft up on the gooseneck. With my extended cab and a toanno roll up cannister in the bed right behind the cab, I've had to practically stand up to see the hitch ball to line up with the gooseneck. Not anymore. I place the moniter between my steering wheel and the top of the dash. Tilting the moniter a little helps see the picture more clearly. It was overcast and sprinkling some when I tried this out. Will be interesting to see how it works when the full sun is out. I think this will depend on where and how the moniter is placed. Overall............10+. Just hope it lasts a long time.52892

This has made camping so much more stress free. The Swift Hitch has eliminated the "end of the trip" tension and arguments between my husband and I; making hooking up so much easier. The only improvement would be if the camera would transmit from the back of the camper to the truck so hey could see the campsite as he backed in. Overall, total thumbs up!50509

Located a AC charger for the unit at Staples. With the option to charge the batteries both at home or in transit, I am satisfied with the purchase. It is sad that a manufacturer can create a convenient product to solve a common towing problem but will not think through the process completely to satisfy the charging issues. 35713

product is a convenient device to use to guide into trailer hook up. Not as convenient to use when attached to rear of RV unit & back up into tight parking spaces. Signal is weaker from the RV unit compared to utility trailer towing. Battery charging process would be more convenient if an house hold receptable line was available with purchase. 35644

Seems to work. It just got here yesterday and I haven't had an actual trial run yet. Charged it up while at work and gave it a test in the house. Since the electric power was off because of a storm and it was dark, I got to try the IR feature. Easy to use.30064

  • How Does the Swift Hitch Portable Water Resistant Wireless Camera Mount to the Back of a Vehicle
  • The camera portion of the Swift Hitch, # SH02, has a magnetic base and will adhere to a metal surface. If the back of your RV is metal it will stick to it. The corrugations may not be the ideal mounting surface so what I would do is use screws to mount it to the back. The base on the camera has mounting holes. To get it mounted to a flat surface you can mount it to a metal plate and then mount the plate to the back of the RV.

  • What is Video-Out Connection For On the Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System # SH02
  • I spoke with my contact at Swift Hitch and they said the Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System, part # SH02, that comes with the video-out connection is for somebody that would like to plug in a cable to view the camera image on a larger screen. The video-out jack is a standard video cable size and would need to be ran to the video-in jack of the larger monitor you will be using for viewing. I do not carry any cables that would work, but they said a standard video cable can be purchased at any

  • Can the Swift Hitch Wireless Camera be Used at the Back of an RV as a Backup Camera
  • Yes, the Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System, # SH02, can be used at the rear of your RV as you have described. We had a chance to test this camera out at a product demonstration and it works great. The field of view is a 55 degree angle extending out from where the camera is mounted so the farther back the wider the view gets. This camera would work great during the day and at night it will provide backup vision up to 15 feet behind the RV. I would suggest that you use screws in the base m

  • You will not have any interference issues from a truck bed cap or camper shell with the Swift Hitch Portable Water Resistant Wireless Camera System, # SH02. You will experience interference if you have any wireless devices that operate on 2.4 GHz like Bluetooth or in-car internet active when you are using the camera system. I have attached our installation video of this system for you to check out.

  • Will Bluetooth in a 2012 Ford F-250 Interfere with a Wireless Back Up Camera
  • Any wireless camera system, including # SH02, is susceptible to interference from any other wireless device that operates on 2.4 GHz (like a Bluetooth or in-car internet). Some things that will lessen the likelihood or severity of the interference is an unobstructed path from the camera to the monitor, a short distance between the camera and monitor, and of course turning off anything you can that operates on 2.5 GHz. But I cannot promise you will not still experience interference since the truc
