Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring - no cutting, splicing or tapping required. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.

Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side interior trim panels in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, locate the power cable stud on the driver's side. Then connect the fuse holder wire with the ring terminal to the stud.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because your vehicle runs on a multiplex wiring system, the wiring needs to be converted to be compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Today on this 2009 Volvo XC90 we are going to be installing part number 118411 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is remove our floor panel in our trunk. Then on both sides we are going to remove this piece here and also on both sides we are going to remove this panel as well. There is a pull tab at the bottom, we just want to pull it up and then it pops right out. 00:20
We are starting on the driver side of the vehicle where we are actually going to locate our plug in for our tail light. They are usually behind the panel so you just have to look behind the panel and pull them out. It is going to be the same on the passenger side of the vehicle as well. As you can see we have got our wiring harness here and this is going to be for the driver side of the vehicle which is going to be our yellow and brown. We are going to unplug our harness and plug in the adapter and then plug it back into our harness. We are going to do the same thing on the passenger side. 00:45
Then we are going to take our 4-pole harness adapter and our green and red wire and route those underneath the plastic and come out here. Then we are going to go back over here on the driver side of the vehicle and finish installing our power and ground. Also on this wiring harness, it is very unique, it does have a fuse for each lead. So if one of your functions goes out make sure you check these fuses first because one of them may have went out as well. We are going to take our ground and attach it to the inner sheet metal on the vehicle and drill it in right there. Then we are going to take our power wire and route it underneath and tap into the power that is going to our fuse box relay. 01:37
Now that everything is hooked up we can hide our wires a little bit better. We are going to take our box and we are going to zip tie it to the wiring harnesses down here just to give it more stability so it does not bounce around when driving the vehicle. Then we want to start putting our trunk back together. Now we are going to show you how to use your harness. Open up your trunk lid and just pull it up. Reach in there where your wiring harness is and pull it out. Then you just want to close it back and make sure you keep it away from the center and the sides so it does not pinch. Take the top part of your trunk and close it down. Pull it to the length that you need and you have got yourself a wiring harness for your trailer. This will conclude the install for part number 118411 on this 2009 Volvo XC90.

Product was fairly easy to install, however the recommended installation location of the four pin connector jack was, at best, bush league. If installed to directions, the plug is to be stored inside the vehicle and be draped out of the tailgate when towing. The manufacturer should design a way to disconnect the four wire lead, so it can be easily threaded through a Volvo grommet and reconnected to the harness. The four wire plug should then be attached to the receiver for both use and storage.20898

This product is the easiest wiring harness I have ever installed. I have installed one on my last 4 vehicles. The directions were clear, the video installation instructions were also stellar. It mated up to the factory wiring harness perfect. I am thrilled with the product. 11517

Volvo XC90 wiring installation Once the correct plugs were identified, it was pretty straightforward. The video link was very helpful, but what the instructions may add is that there are THREE sets of grey electrical plugs on each side of the vehicle. EACH of the three plugs is physically different, and two of them are out in the open where you can easily see and reach them. The third, the one you NEED, is tucked in behind the panel and physically attached to the sheet metal of the car, so it is somewhat harder to find, and MUCH harder to access. (the video shows it already located and pulled off the panel, the written instructions are vague and of little help here.) 3541

Wow! Too easy!!! I was somewhat hesitant to persue installing the wiring harnesss on my Volvo XC90 on my own. Electrical work is not my strength. Although, after I saw this product I thought that it may not be as challanging afterall. In the end, this product was extremely easy to install. The only drawback was that the left side turn signal wiring is very close to being too short. It is a tight fit once the connections are made but it certainly works. Overall, great product and I would say that just about anyone could do it themselves and save a ton of money in the process! 1531

This wiring harness was so wonderfully easy to install. It was exactly what i was looking for. I couldn't find something like this at Brand X-haul. I appreciated the emails about the status of my order and the follow-up after I had received it. Should i need anything else for my hauling needs i will come back. Sorry no pics.79932

Quick easy install, I would only suggest splicing ground wire kit includes self-tapping sheet metal screw and ring termination at ground wire for attachment to frame to avoid any possibility of a bad ground connection, unless you are trying to avoid any wiring modifications to vehicle lease, etc. 77248

Just installed the wiring harness on a 2010 Volvo XC90. The harness delivery was prompt and arrived within 4 days of ordering. The install was simple especially since etrailer.com has a video that can help should one need it. Everything worked great and I really appreciated the email confirmation and tracking info they provided. 73625

Easy. As advertised. No room to adhere the brain box though. Plenty of room to let it sit inside the panel. Buy this. 71226

Install was not bad at all, Only one hang-up, the wire to the drivers side should be a slightly longer. It is hard to attach the brain box due to length between power wire and drivers side lights. Was a fairly easy install. Thank You64695

I received an email almost immediately after placing my order indicating that the hitch I ordered online was not in stock for expedited delivery as I requested. Upon calling the customer service number provided in the email, I spoke with Katherine who was most helpful. She provided me with an alternative hitch that was in stock and shipped it out the next day. The product arrived, and as stated in the description, was an exact fit. 25 minute install, and another 25 for the wiring. Thanks!48309

Great product. Installed in my 2008 Volvo XC90 w/o any issues. Volvo likes to hide its wires; the connectors are well hidden deep in the pannels and secured w/ a gromet.37455

Good product, but Vovlo sure doesn't make it easy to get the connectors for the T-connector. That took the most time. It took about 30 min to install with about 15 min figuring out how to get the connector out from behind the plastic side panels.26957

Product matched description and was an easy install after watching the instructional video. One honorable mention not on the video is that the factory connections are secured to the body with a plastic fastener. Gently pull on the connection assembly to 'pop' the fastener away from the body.24887

Good product, Hardest Part was getting the existing wiring out from behind the plastic moldings and feeding the wiring through the back of the trunk (to make it look nice). Otherwise, was pretty easy to install and only took time if you wanted it to look nice.20442
