Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

Today on this 2008 Honda Ridgeline, were going to install part number 118400 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and remove the two taillights. You have to open up the tailgate, remove the two fasteners on the inside and then we can pop the taillights loose. Then we need to disconnect the wiring harness. Theres a little tab on the end that you just push away from the connector to loosen it up. Now well go ahead and start installing the wiring harness.

Well take the four pole end, push it between the body and the bumper and out below the bottom. Well do the same thing with the wiring connector with the green wire, and well run it out the bottom as well. Now for our connector with the yellow wire, well connect that back up to the factory wire harness and then well go ahead and take the white wire with the ring terminal and ground that to the sheet metal behind the taillight. Then we go ahead and reinstall the taillight. Well go underneath the vehicle, route the four pole wire to the center of the hitch, and then well continue on with the green wire and its connector over to the passengers side.

Well run it up toward the passenger taillight, and repeat the same process that we did on the drivers side. Well go ahead and take a few moments to clean off a piece of sheet metal behind the fender alongside the fame to attach our module. Well use some alcohol to clean off the section, and then use adhesive to hold it into place. With the wiring installed we can go ahead and zip tie the wires into place. This is up to personal preference where to zip tie the wires and hold them down.

When all your wires are secured that will finish it for our install of part number 118400 from Tow Ready on our 2008 Honda Ridgeline.

Fast and easy install The best easy install around.... only took 15 minutes and that time was mostly spent on taking the tail lights off and putting back on. Having some problems now after several years so might just buy another one!!2460
