Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Nissan Versa's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk or rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your Nissan Versa's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Nissan Versa operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Nissan Versa's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2010 Nissan Versa

Today on our 2010 Nissan Versa, well be installing the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118545. Now when youre going to use your four-flat wiring, youll simply pull it out, keep it away from the center latch area. When you close the hatch, itll push in on the weather stripping. When you no longer need the four-flat wiring, you simply raise the hatch and lift up the rear storage area. You can store your four-flat wiring down near the spare tire. Were going to begin here by raising the rear hatch of the vehicle. Well then need to remove the center covering section here, as well as this section right here.

Well go ahead and take this piece out as well. Next, were going to need to remove the center threshold piece here. Now before you can pull upward, there should actually be two tabs, one here and one here. Theyre just push fasteners, but theyre actually not in on this particular vehicle so we wont need to remove them. Next, were going to need to remove some interior fasteners.

There are several of them that well need to remove in or order to peel this interior piece back enough to gain access to our tail light wiring on both sides.Either a trim panel removal tool or a large flat head screwdriver will help you get the push fasteners out. Right there is what the little tabs look like. Right here is our connector. Right there is the little locking tab that youll need to push in, in order to pull the factory connector apart. If you just take a small flat head screwdriver like this and gently push in on the locking tab and twist just a little bit, itll allow it to come apart so to look something like that.

Next, were going to go ahead, were going to peel back our white wire with the ring terminal on it. Its the ground stud. That way, it gives us more options of where were going to mount it.Well then go ahead and take our brown and yellow wire with the two connectors on it. Well tie it in with our factory harness that we just disconnected. Go ahead and match it up, push them together, making sure that we hear them fully click so that we know that theyre engaged.

Do the same with the other half. Now, well go ahead and repeat the same process over here on the passenger's side, but this time, well be using the green and the red wire T connection. Lets go ahead and route our other T connector over here in the passenger's side where well make our connection.Next, were going to need to poke a hole in this grommet right here and then well go underneath the vehicle that well route our black power wire back through. That way, we only have to pull the necessary wire back into the vehicle. Were going to be trying in with this red wire here on the converter box and then that wire will ultimately run up to the positive side of the battery. Go ahead and reach in and poke a hole here in our grommet. Now that weve put a hole in grommet, well go ahead and pull our tool back out. Well then take our wire and push it in through the hole. Go ahead and take the extra wire here, feed it dont behind the bumper cover and then pull it out. Then get our grommet back into the body.Next, were going to need to strip a little bit of wire back from the black wire here. Go ahead then and add our yellow butt connector on. Go ahead and strip back a little more here on our red wire. Then go ahead and connect it in with our yellow butt connector. Go ahead and tape up our connection then. Next, were going to go ahead and take a paper towel with a little bit of alcohol on it to clean our surface where well be attaching our converter box using a two-sided tape. Next, well need to peel the back off of the two-sided tape on the back side of the converter box. Well go ahead and push our converter box down. Were then going to need to take our white wire with the ring terminal on it. Well need to ground that to a portion of the vehicles body. Now that weve got our ground screw in, we can go ahead and get our wires work back in here behind the piece of trim. Go ahead and put our interior panel back in the reverse order that we removed it. Now, well go ahead, youll notice that we have a little extra green and red wire. Well just go ahead and use a zip tie to help kind of secure it up. Trim off the excess and then we can put our center piece back in place as well. Go ahead and put the rest of our interior pieces back in as well. Now that we have our interior back together, next well go ahead and route our power wire, which is the black wire. Now, when routing the wire, you want to make sure that you stay away from areas that may move, become hot or have sharp edges because all of these could easily damage the wire. Well also be using several zip ties along the way to help secure the wire. Now, weve gone ahead and routed our wire underneath the vehicle and up into the engine compartment. Well go ahead and snip off our zip ties along the way. It comes up, it goes up and over the top of the gas tank and weve secured it to some of the lines here as it runs up to the front. Now that weve got our wire routed up near the battery, go ahead and take our fuse holder, cut it in half. Strip back some wire from both ends. Do the same thing to the end of our black wire. We can go ahead and add our yellow butt connector here to the black wire. Then go one-half of our fuse holder into the other half of the yellow butt connector. Well then add a ring terminal to the other end of our fuse holder. Well then need to go ahead and tape up our connection there. Now, before we hook our ring terminal to the positive side, you want to make sure that the fuse has already been removed and that there is no fuse in the fuse holder. We can go ahead and get a socket. Well loosen up the connection there. Now, since the nut wont come all the way off of that stud, I'm going to go ahead and cut the center out of our ring terminal so it slides over the stud. Itll look something like that. We can go ahead and add our 10 amp fuse to the fuse holder. Put the cover on it. Go ahead and use a zip tie to help secure any excess over here. Go ahead and trim off any excess. Now, were ready to test out our four-flat. Now, well go ahead and take our test light. Well connect the ground on the test light to the open prong on the four-flat. With our running is on, well touch the brown wire. Left turn, well touch the yellow wire. Right turn, well touch the green wire and brakes, well touch the green and the yellow. As you can see here, all of our functions are working properly.Thatll do it for the installation of the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118545 on our 2010 Nissan Versa. .

Quality product, timely delivery. As other reviewers have noted, they don't seem to have figured out how to box up a trailer hitch so that it doesn't destroy its packaging in shipment, but it all made it. 155680

If you are going to have the hitch professionally installed then you are looking at anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour labor charge. You would need to call around to get the going rate for labor in your area. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. You can also see...

  • Recommended Way to Tow an Electric Wheelchair with a 2012 Nissan Versa Hatchback or Sedan
  • Whether your customer has a Sedan or Hatchback, his maximum tongue weight is 200 pounds. Based on the wheelchair carrier weighing 90 pounds and the power wheelchair at 200 pounds Draw-Tite trailer hitch part # 24798 will not work with the 2012 Nissan Versa. The reason is the tongue weight maximum capacity is 200 pounds and Class I hitches often lack the capacity to carry an electric wheelchair. • Compatibility of Curt Class I Hitch on 2010 Nissan Versa with Mobility Scooter Carrier
  • A Class I hitch, including the Curt # C11348 that would fit on your 2010 Nissan Versa has a relatively low tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. The tongue weight capacity represents the maximum amount of weight that can be safely hung from the hitch. This means that your Harmar AL 160 Profile Scooter Lift plus the weight of the scooter itself could weigh no more than 200 lbs. Exceeding that weight limit could cause the hitch to bend or the hitch attachments to the vehicle to fail, which...
