  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires

    • Powered module connects directly to battery to avoid overloading vehicle's electrical system
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

Specs:

  • Maximum amperage:
    • Stop/turn lights: 4.2 amps per circuit
    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the passenger's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the tow harness connector, locate the battery harness plug behind your headlight assembly and plug in the fuse holder wiring harness. Run the harness to your battery and connect it to the positive terminal. Then insert the included 15-amp fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Easy installation of harness and module at rear of vehicle as per instructions . Locating power plug at front of vehicle not so much . 2013 Outlander plug is black not grey and is located under the left headlight closer to the grill requiring removal of battery to access plug with right hand and putting left hand through a small opening above plug to remove plug cap and install power connector . See pics.

After receiving my kit and reading directions.by the way the reading directions is the most important because you find how easy it is. Perfect fit plugs right in to my prewire. I was so excited and use it everyday. Never a problem. Thank you etrailer

The trailer hitch outlasted the car, just kidding solid construction and excellent wields

by:

I bought my trailer hitch a year ago. I'm very satisfied. When I bought the hitch I never bought one and I ordered the wrong wiring. They replaced it for no charge. Very helpful and kind. Something that is forgotten these days. It was easy to install. All you need is a 1/2" circular wire brush. You can find them in the plumbing section. And socket wrench.

by:
2010MitsubishiOutlander

The module was an easy plug-in installation in the rear right interior wheel well. The power tap lead was hard to find in the engine compartment, but the plug-in feature instead of splicing wires made it worthwhile. The positive battery connector had an open connector for easy bolt-on installation of the power lead. Great product.

Product was exactly as described and very easy to install. Everything just plugs into the existing wiring harness in the car. Only took about 15 minutes to install.

I also like the prompt emails notifying me when the order was placed and shipped. Would definitely purchase other items in the future.

The trailer light kit worked very well, installation easy. Service ordering and shipment the very best. Could not believe how quickly I received my order, also emailed status process of order outstanding. Highly recommend this seller.

Installed the hitch and electical harness all in about 2 hrs as Im a shade tree mechanic. So simple, loved the videos that come with your service, worth a million words. Of course, the time included, ill clean this while I have it open and Ill fix this and that while Im here. Easy peasy guys, plug in and e-trailer lays it all out for ya.

by:
2011 MitsubishiOutlander

This harness was very painless to install. Since it was vehicle specific, it plugged right into my vehicle's existing harness. the video on the etrailer website was also very helpful. After watching the video, I was able to find the hidden connector under the hood that I needed to use for installation.

Wish I had consulted etrailer 2 years ago. Found a legacy part with etrailer that solved trailer lighting problems I've been having ever since we bought our rv. It was the car and not the popup trailer all along. Etrailer videos are a great resource for dummies like me, and etrailer always seems to have the part needed. Thanks Etrailer!

2008 MitsubishiOutlander

Took about 20 minutes to install. Despite being warned the hardest part is finding the receptor up by the battery. Mine was taped to the harness directly underneath the headlight assembly.

by:

This made installing my hitch system a dream! I originally was concerned about tapping in to all the wires of my car like I have in the past (I usually end up with some crazy issue down the road) when I stumbled on their YouTube video showing how to wire this with a link to this site. I immediately ordered the part and it arrived so much faster than I anticipated. Installing was a breeze and the video they provide was absolutely perfect.

by:

Very easy to install, instructions were clear, youtube video was very helpful.

Would buy from them again; worth the extra money for a new, complete harness

by:
2013 MitsubishiOutlander

Excellent service, fast shiping, all part is correct and exactly for my Outlander 2013 and the instructions and video are excellent for installation.

by:

Kit worked perfectly and was very easy to install. Especially after watching the video instructions. Wish all my online purchases worked this well.

Works great. I found a great grounding attachment point at the top of the access point. looks like it was the factory grounding point. Uses a 6mm x 10 bolt. Would recommend this product.

A big thanks to wingnut for the tip on the bolt.I went to the slide-out drawers at my local hardware store and found they had a couple of drawers with metric screws.I used the M6 x 10mm size, to be more precise to the designation on the box.It might be worth checking the other postings about finding the gray connector behind the headlights.I have a 2013 Outlander GT not sport, and it was *very* tricky to find. It was black, not gray, and below the headlight, taped to a wiring harness. Use a flashlight to help see it.I got away with leaving the battery in place, i didnt want to lose my radio

by:

  • Where is the Grey Connector Under the Hood of a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander to Install Trailer Wiring
You are going to have remove the battery hold down bracket and carefully move the battery just enough so that you have access to the rear of your headlight assembly. There should be a grey 4-pin harness taped to a harness behind the vehicle headlamp. It will probably be out of plain sight and will require a little bit of exploration of the area to find it but you will eventually find it.

  • Will a Bad Ground Cause Tow Ready Custom Fit Wiring for a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander to Stop Working
Yes. A bad ground connection can cause all sorts of wiring issues including not allowing the system to work at all. If there is a bad ground, the circuit will not be completed or it would only work intermittently. The ground should be connected to a clean bare metal surface that is free of corrosion. With the T-One Connector with Upgraded Circuit Protected Modulite, # 118518, if the fuse is blown, that would also not allow the system to work. However, if the fuse has blown, that would...

The Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118518, for the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander is a powered converter. It draws power for the trailer lights from the vehicle battery and not from the tail lights.
