    • Tail lights: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Kia Sorento's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located along the frame rail at the rear of your vehicle. The exact location of the port will vary depending on the make, model, and year of your vehicle. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuse into the in-line fuse holder.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Kia Sorento, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your Kia Sorento's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Kia Sorento operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Kia Sorento's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2014 Kia Sorento

Today on this 2014 Kia Sorento were going to install part number 118269 from Tow Ready. One thing you may want to note on this particular vehicle, it is easier to install the wiring first before you install the hitch. To start off our install, we need to get underneath the vehicle on the drivers side. Theres a plastic panel in the corner that we have to remove. There will be plastic fasteners at the very bottom that we have to remove. We can remove the center with a screwdriver, and then pull out the rest of the plastic rivet.

Then there are two other fasteners that go up to the bodywork. They just simply unsnap. Then we can go ahead and take down our panel. Now we can find the tow package ports. Theres a small tab on top that we have to push down, and then we can go ahead and pull loose. Sometimes it might be helpful to take a small screwdriver and twist it along the edge to help remove the cap from the tow port.

Sometimes its a really tight fit, or dirt and debris will get in there.Once we have the caps removed well go ahead and take our key connector and plug into the matching ports. Then well go ahead and take our module and well go ahead and attach it to some sheet metal underneath the car. Well put it along the edge using a self-tapping screw that comes with the kit, well go ahead and use it to mount the nodule. Then well go ahead and zip tie our extra wires up and out of the way. Then well go ahead and continue running our four pole wire out to the center where the hitch will be.

Well go ahead and zip tie what we can out of the way for now and well leave it alone. At this point we can go ahead and reinstall the panel. With everything installed its a good idea to try the wire harness out before you try it on a trailer. Well go ahead and test it out with a light tester first. Well take our ground and connect it to the white wire, then test the brown wire for the running light circuit, then the yellow wire for left turn and green for our right turn, and then our brake signal should be a constant feed on our yellow and green wires. With that, that will finish it for our install of part number 118269 from Tow Ready on this 2014 Kia Sorento. .

I purchased the T-one vehicle wiring harness, along with the Curt trailer hitch receiver, for my new Santa Fe Sport. The dealership Service Department did the installation for me in order to maintain my warranty on the vehicle. The cost of the tow hitch set-up and the cost of dealership installation was significantly lower than if I were to have had the dealership order the parts. In fact, it was more than a 50% savings. The Hyundai salesman and Service Department were so very impressed with the price and quality of the tow hitch and kit, I was delivered, that they requested eTrailer.com website from me for referral to their future customers that are looking for additional ways to save money in their new car buying experience. My vehicle look exactly like the pictures provided on eTrailers.com website. My Santa Fe happens to be the same color as well. Again, I had the trailer hitch receiver, along with the tow kit, installed professionally at the dealership for more than 50% of the price if I would have purchased the vehicle with the hitch included. 154174

The wiring harness fit the pre-existing vehicle wiring perfectly; the extension which goes to the trailer is long enough for nearly any use, and the harness comes with double-backed tape or a small sheet metal screw to mount the control box. A very complete package; my only gripe would be that only one of the zipties that came with the unit was long enough to go around the hitch frame to secure the wiring extension in place. Not a big deal since I always have plenty of zipties, but something to make sure you have before you install the harness so that you can adequately secure it in place. 156240

These guys have hands-down the best product, best price and the fastest shipping you'll find out there, if you don't use them you're making a mistake! This is the third time ordering from them and it's been consistent every time. I love Etrailer.com! Thanks again guys Oh and also super easy step-by-step instructions with pictures believe me you won't be disappointed. 144577

Great experience from start to finish. Quick delivery. Perfect fit and easy to install within 30 minutes. Routing the wire harness was a bit challenging but it also was a perfect fit. I only have one picture but you can't see the hitch since it is behind the center panel which is exactly what I wanted. 142647

Plug and play. 2013 Hyundai Santa fe sport. Checked for the two connections on the driver side frame rail, they were there so I ordered the T-One for the factory tow package. Plugged right in and ready to go in 20 minutes. Photo of factory wiring attached. 102447

The product was received exactly as described. Etrailer.com is extremely fast in how fast they get their parts to shipping. The harness plugged in and worked perfectly. The wires are long so there is plenty to work with depending on how you run it. My Santa Fe Limited had the tow-prep package so I had to use the enclosed zip ties for the extra wire Suggestions, maybe adding a second screw to attach the black box to the vehicle as added security. 96517

Tamara caught the fact that some of what I ordered was not correct for the hitch I ordered. She called within the hour and made the correction for me. I received product in record time for standard shipping! Everything was as promised. Only variation in instructions is that the wiring harness plugs for the 2014 Kia Sorento in on the driver's side instead of the passenger's side. Have purchased before and definably will again. 95591

I just competed the installation of my wiring harness. It fit correctly snapping in to the factory connection. This product appears to be as good as OEM at 1/3 the cost. It arrive on time as estimated, I paid for the cheapest shipping and it arrived in 4 working days. It was good to find a product to fit my new 2014 car on the aftermarket,.. Now off to pic up my new travel trailer. 108171

Ordered a Curt trailer hitch for my new santa fe sport. It went on without a hitch. Looks good on the car. Also installed the recommended T-one wiring harness. That was the easiest one I ever installed. I have bought from Etrailer.com many different times and they are always the best in parts & service. I buy from them again. 156154

Very easy to install, however a suggestion for the installer is to install this item before installing the hitch...especially if the plugs are on the side of the rear end of the car (mine was on the driver's side rear). Great product, highly recommend it to other do-it-yourselfers and even those first timers! 100787

The delivery was prompt, the packaging was good, the directions were clear and easy to follow and the installation went fast and as simple as promised. It looks good on the vehicle and worked wonderful too. Not a complaint, but it is lower to the ground than others I have used so a step up receiver is needed. 121448

Product worked great on my 2014 Sorrento SX. Just a little difficulty (lack of space) in placing the Modulite black box within the rear driver side tail light. I used the double sided sticking foam. Also, this vehicle has no large plastic cover to remove for access to the connection points. 100061

Exact fit on my 2011 KIA Sorrento Sx. Like the video said, the hardest step was removing the dust plugs on the underside of the car. After removing the dust plugs, it took me about 10-15 minutes to complete the installation. The on line video was very accurate. 108610

  • Draw-Tite Versus Hidden Hitch for 2012 Kia Sorento
  • You hit the nail on the head. Hidden Hitch and Draw-Tite are manufactured by the same company, Cequent Performance Products. Both hitches are identical except for the label. Keep in mind that the hitches will not fit a dual exhaust vehicle (with pipes on both sides of the vehicle). If you are interested in a hitch with a less obtrusive appearance, the Curt Class III, part # C13073 might be a better alternative. A Mag-Flat, part # 38095 can be used instead of the bracket system. A storage box, part # 18145 is also offered. On my wifes KIA Sedona, I used the no drill mount, part # 18140, the bracket, part # 118137 and the knock out adapter, part # 30601. Your...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2014 Kia Sorento SX
  • The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13152, that you mentioned is the correct hitch for your 2014 Kia Sorento SX. At this time, there are two wiring harnesses that have been confirmed to work with your Sorento SX. If your Sorento came with a factory tow package, then you can use the T-One Wiring Harness, # 118269. The factory connectors under the vehicle (see attached instructions for # 118269) should already be active if you have the tow package. The factory connectors may be on the...

  • Wiring Harness Blowing Fuses on My 2007 Hyundai Veracruz
  • I spoke to my contact at the manufacturer and he said there have been no ongoing issues with the # 118269 wiring harness for your 2007 Hyundai Veracruz. You may have had a situation with a mis-wired or shorted trailer and the converter is shorted out. You can test the converter on both sides with a circuit tester like # 3808 to see if it is functioning properly. While you are doing this make sure there are no pinched or rubbed wires in the harness. If the converter is shorted it will have...

  • Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Ball, and Trailer Wiring Recommendations for a 2011 Kia Sorento SX
  • I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite regarding Trailer Hitch, # 75684. He stated that there are no exclusions for the trailer hitch which means that it should fit all models, including your 2011 Kia Sorento SX. I have included a link to the installation details below. If you plan on doing some towing, the recommended ball mount is # 2923 and you can use ball # 19260 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or the # 19247 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use # 118269 if your SX model has the Factory...

  • Parts Needed to Install a Trailer Brake Controller on a 2011 Kia Sorento
  • Brake controllers are not vehicle specific so you can install any controller you want on your 2011 Kia Sorento. For your vehicle it is a hardwire situation and you will need a few parts for the installation. First, if the vehicle does not have a 4-Way trailer connector, you will need to add one using # 118506 if you have a 4 cylinder or other model WITHOUT the towing prep package. If you do have the towing prep package, use # 118269. I have linked instructions for both harnesses for...

  • Where is Trimming Required to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2014 Kia Sorento SX
  • The panel in question is under the 2014 Kia Sorento so you cannot see it unless you are under the vehicle. I have included a picture though that shows the area of this panel that needs to be trimmed. It is a small section as you can see. The other option is to just leave the panel off of the vehicle if you would rather not trim it. If you plan on doing some towing I also recommend etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a storage...

  • Recommended Hitch and Trailer Wiring Harness for 2013 Kia Sorento SX
  • According to my research, the 6 cylinder models of the Sorento like your SX can tow up to 3500 lbs. I would recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # C13073. If your Sorento was equipped with the factory tow package, you would use the # 118269 you referenced. If your vehicle does not have the factory tow package, then the connectors you located under the vehicle are most likely not active, and you would need to use # 118506, which would plug inline with the factory wiring harness feeding...

  • Recommendations to Convert the 4-way of a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe to a 7-Way
  • If you are looking to just use the tail light functions of your trailer you could plug the 4-way of your 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe into a Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole # 37185 and just tape up the extra wires out of the way as they would not be needed. If you do not have a 4-way you will need to get a Tow Ready 4-way harness # 118269. If you need for the 7-way to be fully functional you will need a Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This comes with everything...

  • In order to use the MaxxTow carrier, # MT70106, you will need a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver. The most popular Class III hitch for your 2011 Kia Sorento is # 87574. I have included links to the instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you.
