T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector - 2009 Kia Borrego

Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Kia Borrego. This T-One typically plugs directly into the back of your factory-installed 7-way connector so you can retain the 7-way and also pull a trailer that has a 4-pole flat.

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your Kia Borrego to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Retains functionality of factory-installed 7-way, RV-style connector (if present)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing of wires
    • Locate connection points behind rear bumper
    • Plug in T-connector
  • Constructed of 16-gauge bonded wire
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector

  • Maximum amperage: 7.5 amps per circuit
  • 1-Year limited warranty

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Kia Borrego's wiring harness, which is located behind the rear bumper. If you have a factory-installed 7-way, blade-style connector, the T-One will plug in between the 7-way and the OEM socket.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Kia Borrego, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Video Transcript for Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring 118384 Review

Today, we're going to review part number 118384. This is the tow-ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with the 4 way flat trailer connector. Now, this part is designed to fit many Dodge, GM, and Nissan vehicles that have the factory tow package. I do recommend to use the fit guide on our website to help determine if it will fit your particular vehicle. This part will provide a 4 way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. Now, it is designed to tee into the factory-installed tow package. Now, on the factory-installed tow package, if you do have the factory-installed 7 way on the vehicle, what you can do is unplug the harness from the back of the 7 way, go ahead and plug this into the 7 way, plug the harness into this, and then that will give you the 4 way in addition to the 7 way.

In other words, it will retain the 7 way functions on the factory-installed 7 way, if you do add this into it. Now, on some factory tow package, they might leave off the 7 way at the bumper. So basically what you want to do is look under, behind the rear bumper, and you'll usually see where the factory tow package, wire, and harness will end, and then they usually have a cap on the end of it. What you want to do is take that cap off, and again, basically, plug this into the wiring harness, take that cap that you removed, and put it back in here, since you won't have the 7 way on your vehicle, and then you'll at least have the 4 way to the back of your vehicle. This is very easy to quick connects very quickly and easily. There is no cutting or splicing of the wires.

Basically, it is constructed of 16 gauge bonded wire. Now the 4 way, if you notice, does come with this dust cap that's connected. So, when you plug it in, when you're not using it, you can just put the dust cap on to protect it, keep it from corroding, or any damage to it. Now, this wire loom itself, if you stretch it out and measure it, it is about 36 inches long, and it does come with these instructions, which are very good, and they also have some good pictures to show you how to connect it. That should do it for the review on part number 118384, the tow-ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with the 4 way flat trailer connector. .

Perfect fit on my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Hitch and wiring harness installed in 20 minutes. This is my fifth hitch and wiring harness purchased thru etrailer and have yet to be dissapointed. Both the video and written instructions were spot on, the installation of the wiring harness couldn't be easier! 34414

Just did this install on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee everything is just like the video. But the only thing that worked was tail lights. No turn or brake lights. I could not find any fuse or relays bad or missing. Did I miss something?

Part # 118384 is designed for Grand Cherokees with a factory tow package. Without the factory tow package, not all functions will work. In order to make it function, youll need to head to your dealer and have them re-flash either the Body Control Module BCM or Power Control Module PCM to fully activate that port. The other option is to use a harness designed for Grand Cherokees that dont have factory tow packages like part # 118425.

by: Teddy B.08/22/2011 had the best price around on this wiring kit, their site was easy to navigate and they upgraded my shipping from 5 to 7 days to 3 to 5 at no extra cost to me. The tracking info page was updated frequently and the map feature was a nice touch. The package came in and we were able to hook it up in a matter of 30 seconds, great fit and works perfectly with the trailer. Overall I'm very happy with my transaction with and would not hesitate to order from them again. 22454

On my 2012 GMC Sierra, this was the best way to retain the 7 pole factory connection and also have a 4 pole connection. This product lets me have both 4 and 7 pole connections available at the truck, all the time, without adaptors to carry around. Most of the light trailers I pull have the 4 pole connection. I don't use the factory 7 pole very often. Installation is about 2 minutes. Check out the video on this product, it's very helpful. 38140

Received complete order and was very well packaged. It was a one man job and took me about 1 hour to install the trailer hitch receiver. Most time was consumed because of rust in screw holes. I also ordered the wrong wiring harness. I called and a replacement is on it's way along with return information to send wrong harness back for credit. Thank you very much. 79656

This was a very simple harness to install. Appears to be very good quality. Saves you the time of having to splice a 4 prong connector later. I coupled this with the twist in 7 prong to replace the "dummy" plug on my 2007 Sierra. The whole process took about 15 minutes. Well worth the money. The hardest part of the whole install was hiding/tying up the wires. 116589

the trailer hitch adapter I bought for my GMC truck was just what I needed to attach an LED lightbar below the tailgate and still have a plug for a trailer. There was a short in the plug but it seems to be working ok as I just bent the wire and wiretied it in place to keep it working. The shipping was prompt and rapid and much appreciated 17257

I am very pleased with the T-0ne 4-pole flatTrailer Connector #118384. This is what I have been looking for months. The whole connection and wire-tie's support took me fifteen minutes. The longest time, 10 minutes, was spent supporting the extra cable to the frame with wire-ties. eTrailer is definetly on my browser favorite list! 112712

I actually ordered one of the wrong items. It was not your fault but my inattention. Your company was easy to deal with and delivered quick. I ordered the Draw Tite Trailer Hitch. I installed it by myself and it took about 30 minutes and bolted right to the frame and all the necessary hardware was there. 32081

Took me all of 30 seconds to install this product. I'm using it for an additional 4 prong plug to attach a tailgate bar from Recon. Was also able to attach the reverse, and power lines with just a quick cut and splice. Now if I remove the tailgate bar, I can remove the wires, in seconds. 80554

Great item. So much easier to use than cut and splice. Used it to make a quick disconnect for my Leer Camper Shell. I have a few aux. lights both exterior and interior and this makes it a breeze to run a 4 wire connector kit up to the bed for those times where the shell gets removed. 129097

  • It sounds like you have narrowed the problem down to being on your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 since multiple trailers have had the same results when connected to that vehicle. It sounds like the problem could be a blown relay on your truck since you have checked the fuses. However, the fuse you would be looking for should be in cavity J14 and will require a 20 amp cartridge fuse. • If your 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 came with a factory tow package that included a 7-Way at the back of the vehicle, you can use 5th wheel and gooseneck in-bed wiring harness, # 51-97-410. This harness plugs in line with the factory wiring harness under the truck and provides a 7-Way in the bed area. If the truck did not come with a factory tow package that included a trailer connector, you will have to hardwire one in starting with a 4-Way using # 119178KIT. A T-connector is not available....

  • Trailer Running Lights Blow a Fuse on a 2005 Chevy Silverado when Towing Different Trailers
  • There is either too much power draw from the trailer lights when the running lights are on (if the trailers have a lot of running lights, this is possible) or there is a short in the trailer connector, vehicle side or wiring somewhere. You can check the amperage draw of the lights by looking at the light housing where the wires attach. There may be information on how much power draw the lights require. Otherwise, you would need to use a multi-meter like # BTMT15 if needed to test the...

  • Correct Trailer Wiring Harness for 2012 Jeep Liberty
  • To install the # 118384, you would need to unplug your existing 7-way harness from the rear of the socket. The # 118384 would plug inline between the vehicle harness and the existing 7-way, as shown in the video I linked you to. If your Liberty does NOT have the factory tow package with the 7-way trailer connector, the connector that the # 118384 would connect to will NOT be present. In this case, you would need part # 118554. I have linked you to the installation instructions for the...

  • 4-Pole Trailer Wiring Harness for 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan
  • The TowReady T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118384 that you referenced is not a fit for the 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan. This 4-pole harness uses a standardized round U.S. Car Connector to plug in to the vehicle wiring and your Tiguan does not use this type of connector. Currently there is one confirmed fit for a 4-pole trailer wiring harness for your vehicle and it is a hard-wired type converter, part # 119190KIT also from TowReady. This kit installs at...

  • Trailer Running Lights Not Working with a 7-Way to 4-Way Adapter
  • There are a couple of possibilities here. First, it could just be a ground issue on the utility trailer. You will want to check the main ground from the trailer connector and the tail light grounds and make sure they are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. A ground issue will show up when there is a load on the circuit and having a constant draw on the circuit like with running lights could be what is making the ground issue appear. Also, you can check the trailer...

  • Trailer Lights Not Working When Using Tow Ready Wiring Harness, # 118384, On 2007 Nissan Titan
  • The Tow Ready Wiring Harness, # 118384, is for a Nissan Titan with the factory 7-Way trailer connector. It will plug into the back of your 7-Way on your vehicle and the other end will plug into the tow vehicles trailer harness connector, behind the bumper on the drivers side. This harness does not come with relays because they are usually installed already when the factory 7-Way is on the vehicle. You might check the accessory fuse block to make sure you have the three relays installed...

  • Troubleshooting No Left Side Trailer lighting on a 2005 Nissan Titan with Factory 7 and 4-Way Wiring
  • You do not need to have an additional 4-Way wiring harness, # 118384, for proper operation of the trailer lights when you have a factory 7 and 4-Way connector. I would start out by checking the trailer connectors at the rear of the vehicle with a circuit tester, # 3808, no trailer attached. This will let you know if the problem is on the vehicle side or trailer side. If you find the problem is on the vehicle side, check the relays that are under the hood of your 2005 Nissan Titan to...

  • 4-Way to 7-Way Wiring Adapter
  • The 4-Pole Trailer Adapter for GM trucks with Factory 7 Way, part # 118384 would give you a 4-way plug, but to get the 7-way plug as well you will need a 4-way to 7-way and 4-way adapter, part # 37185.

  • Is a Weight Distribution System Needed for a 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Towing a Coachman Freedom
  • I did a bit of research and the 2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer weighs in at somewhere around 4,500 lbs, depending on equipment. As a general rule anytime you are towing a trailer that weighs greater than 50 percent of the vehicles total weight, trailer brakes and weight distribution are recommended. You should check your TrailBlazer and hitch weight ratings to determine the actual towing capacity for your specific vehicle. The weight distribution system you referred to, # 66557, would not...

  • Installing 4-Pole Trailer Connector on 2002 Chevy Silverado with No Trailer Connector
  • If your Silverado has the factory plug located above the spare tire, the easiest way to install a 4-pole would be to use the Tow Ready # 118384. Simply remove the protective cap covering the plug, plug in one of the connectors on the Tow Ready Harness and run the 4-pole to the desired location. If there is nothing but the harness above the spare tire with no plug on it, the wiring from the 4-pole like part # 18002 would connect to the factory harness color for color, yellow to yellow,...

  • Locating and Repairing Boat Trailer Ground Problem
  • It sounds like you are on the right track with the ground problem. Check your trailer connector on the Grand Cherokee, and make sure the white wire is grounded to the frame of the vehicle. Even though your trailer works fine when connected to your truck, you still might have a weak ground on the trailer. It is not unheard of that a given trailer will work fine with one vehicle, but not with another. Check the grounding point where the white wire from the connector attaches to the...

  • 4-Way to 7-Way Trailer Connector Adapter for a 2012 Toyota Tundra
  • If trailer brakes are not required and you do not plan on getting a brake controller any time soon, you can just use # 37185. Plug the 4-Way into this adapter, ground the white wire and you will be able to plug in the 7-Way and you will have ONLY lighting functions. If the trailer requires a 12 volt circuit, trailer brakes, auxiliary power, or reverse lights they will not function. If you decide that you do want all of those features in the future. You would need the follow items to...

  • Is Under Car Trimming Required for Installation of Hitch # C13065 on a 2011 Dodge Grand Cherokee
  • For installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch, # C13065, on your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, you will need to trim excess caulk on vehicle frame rails, only if it interferes with hitch installation, see instructions link. I have added a photo showing where the excess caulk is likely to interfere and need to be trimmed. No part of the bumper or fascia will need to be trimmed. You may be interested in the following items to complete your trailer hitch setup. Trailer Wiring, # 118425 (without...
