Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Hyundai Santa Fe with this custom harness. T-One connector plugs directly into OEM tow package harness - no cutting, splicing or tapping required. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.

Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Hyundai Santa Fe's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located beneath the rear driver's side of your vehicle. You will find the harness attached to a grommet between the wheel well and the bumper. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuse into the in-line fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your Hyundai Santa Fe's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Hyundai Santa Fe operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Hyundai Santa Fe's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Today on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe well install the Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118258. First lets go ahead and identify the manufacturers plugs or towing port that well be plugging into. Here on the drivers side underneath the vehicle behind the rear axle or tire are the two ports that are built in by the manufacturer. Well be connecting into these ports, but first were going to go ahead and disconnect them from the vehicle, push the grommet back into the interior of the vehicle and feed them back into the cabin. Now with them disconnected and fed into the cabin well go ahead and get inside the vehicle. Were going to remove the two storage trays and the drivers side quarter panel.
To remove the rear storage tray well need to go ahead and remove the spare tire jack and tools and set it aside. To remove the rear storage tray well remove the three fasteners and pop free the rear threshold as its a one piece unit. To remove the threshold well use our trim panel tool or a flat bladed screwdriver to pop the plastic fasteners free from the sheet metal. Now well go ahead and set it aside for reinstallation later. Next well remove the forward storage tray.
It has a total of five fasteners that will need to be removed. Once its removed we can take the storage tray out of the vehicle and set it aside. Next, were ready to go ahead and remove or loosen the drivers side rear quarter panel. Well first remove the cargo hook and then weve got three fasteners, one at the threshold and two in the lower portion side of the quarter panel. Next well go ahead and remove the rear access door which will assist us in loosening the quarter panel from the sheet metal.
Now with the access panel removed and set aside well go ahead and start at the rear threshold and work our way up. To loosen the quarter panel well need to pop free the fasteners from the sheet metal. Now that weve got the quarter panel loosened enough that we can gain access behind it, well go ahead and reach into the cavity of the quarter panel and pull out the ports that we loosened earlier. Now that we have access to the two ports well go ahead and remove the caps. To remove the cap press on the lock and just go ahead and remove the cap and set it aside as it will not be reinstalled.
Now we can take our new Tow Ready Harness and plug it in line with the manufacturers. As you can see, the Tow Ready Harness plugs will match up to the manufacturers. Lets go ahead and make those connections now. Next well need to mount the converter box. To mount the converter box youre looking for a clean flat metal surface to attach it to. Well go ahead and remove the double-sided adhesive and attach it inside the body cavity and out of the way. Now we can take the new 4-pole connector and route it through the hole that we pulled our tow ports through and down underneath the vehicle. Next, well go ahead and get underneath the vehicle, pull the rest of our 4-pole connector through and reseat the new grommet. Now we can take the 4-pole wire and run it to the center of the vehicle and down to the hitch and well go ahead and secure it with some black zip ties to the hitch. Now with our 4-pole secured and zip tied well go ahead and cut off the excess from our zip ties to clean up our install look and well move back to the cabin of the vehicle where we can go ahead and take the remaining wires, tuck them into the body cavity and reinstall the interior trim panel and cargo trays. Now with everything reinstalled this will complete the install of our new Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118258 on our 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe.

A little difficult to install Recieved 118258 and followed instructions. No alternate installation if your Sante Fe has a third seat which mine does. Removed seat on driver side. Removed back quarter panel and tried to locate grommet with wire harness from below vehicle. Found wires and grommet however could not route wires through inside of vehicle to bottom outside location. I only tow short trips so when I do need to pull something, I will install harness under vehicle and remove (just unplug two connectors) when done. Thanks.3551

Installation video was a great help. Taking the trim pieces off was a little nerve racking, but the video really helps make the process smooth. The only suggestion would be to include longer zip ties with the package. I had to purchase longer ones to secure it to my Curt round tube hitch, but otherwise great product.78180

Excellent all the way, from the Price, customer service to the free shipping that was supper fast, I received my parts a day early. I had asked a question an I actually got a quick answer. I ordered an etrailer hitch,2X2"receiver, 2" ball and wire harness for my 2008 Santa Fe that has a tow package. The wire harness hooked right up to the provisioned connectors on my car and worked. I Installed this by myself using a motorcycle jack to lift it. I think this is really a two man install. The hitch looks and feels heavy duty along with the receiver. First time I have purchased from etrailer and I am very satisfied from the price to the customer service to the quality of the items purchased. I would recomend to anyone.63954

This wiring harness worked great. With the help of the video here on the website, installation was a breeze! The only issue was the tie-wraps were not quite long enough to go around the trailer hitch bar, but I had some longer ones in my toolbox, so not a big deal.63579

I ordered the package for a 2007 Hyundai. I received was as advertised. My 21 year old daughter wanted to install it, she followed the video instructions. Had a successful installation. It did take a little longer than the suggested 30 minutes. I assume that for someone who had a lot of experience the 30 minutes might be right. We experienced issues on trying to get the left rear trim panel off for access. this porton of the video might have been explained better. Overall it was easy to do, wished I had done it 43637

If you own a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited V-6 with tow package you do not have to wire anything inside your vehicle. Hyundai did a perfect job of placing the tow wires outside the vehicle and that is just what I wanted. The wiring harnes is long enough to do what ever you want to do with it. Take it off or put it on each time you pull your trailer. Or, just leave it attached as I did and place the little box in a plastic container to protect it from the elements. You can tuck or attach the box in many places under the vehicle. Too many places or ways to show you. Use your imagination and surprise yourself. Don't go through tearing the inside of your vehicle up to mount the unit inside. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THAT with the 2012 Santa Fe. You should also place electrical grease inside the connectors to prevent moisture etc. from getting on the part. If your going to leave the wires attached all the time them wrap electrical tape over the plugs once you greased the connectors and presto your protected. How easy is that? 43009

Works perfectly. Like an earlier reviewer I installed the entire harness under the rear of my 2011 Santa Fe without removing any internal storage bins. This is a big time saver. After plugging-in the two connectors (your vehicle must have the activated tow package; the connectors alone may not be active) I removed the provided rubber grommet and added additional plastic flex tubing to protect the harness wires. I then securely fastened everything to the frame and hitch. I also added some heavy grease around the joints of the two connectors to keep any moisture out. 41788

The wiring harness was exactly "as advertised" and everything fit as it was shown in the installation video. I wasn't able to get the interior side panel completely removed, but was still able to get to the existing wiring and make the connections. It took longer than I expected, but then I've never done this before!41719

EZ install. I did have a problem plugging the 12v connector in, the rubber dust seal (orange in color) needed to be removed from inside of the connector on the supply side. Perhaps it normally comes out when you remove the dust cover. 41549

Installed on a 2012 Santa Fe with trailer package. Factory wiring connections are underneith vehicle behind left rear fender. Is not necessary to remove any of the panels inside vehicle. Found out after removing interior panels. Would be easier to connect before installing trailer hitch. Connections are right beside driver side mounting bracket. Surge box is mounted on side of hitch mounting bracket. Hope it is water proof.36536

Quick install on my 2012 Santa Fe that had trailer prep package. All the work is done under the the car. I first removed the rubber gromet and added about 2 feet of flex tubing because all the wiring is exposed to the elements. All I had to do next just was plug in 2 connectors, route the cable and put on a couple of wire ties.36222

Awesome experience from start to finish. Customer service is the best. Kept me informed every step from order to receipt. I got a Draw-Tite hitch and T harness. Instructions for the hitch were as easy as it gets. Once installed it looks like a factory installation. The T harness instructions for a Santa Fe don't cover instructions for the third row seat. I've been a mech for years, so no problem. Could be for less experienced installers. Will definitely shop with etrailer.com in the future. 24095

Easy installation on a Hyundai Santa Fe 2012 with the tow package. All you have to do is pull the caps off the already installed connectors under the left rear fender, plug in the harness and route the wires. The module looks sealed so I have no problem with just attaching it to the hitch. Only reason for not "excellent" is the zip ties included are way too small. You'll have to buy your own larger zip ties to attach the wires to the hitch.49789
