Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Honda Odyssey's wiring harness, which is located behind the passenger's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. Once you've plugged in the connector, insert the included fuse into your fuse panel as indicated in the instructions.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your Honda Odyssey's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your Honda Odyssey operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Honda Odyssey's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Today on this 2010 Honda Odyssey, we are going to install part number 118438 from Tow Ready. The first thing we need to do is get to the rear of the vehicle. We are going to open up the back hatch. And the first thing that we need to do is remove the rear threshold right here. We will start off by removing the tie-down anchor points right here. And they just unscrew. Alright, and there is a series of clips on the top right here. We will go ahead and undo those. And there are some on the backside here we can simply just pull out with our fingers. Alright, now we are going to do the same thing with this panel here, but we are not going to take it all of the way off. We are just going to loosen it up so we can get behind it. We have one more anchor point that we need to remover here too. We are going to take our lid off of our jack storage compartment and we are going to pop it loose too. And we just need to move just that little bit. That is all we need. 1:07
Alright, getting back to our passenger side of the vehicle, we will show you where the port is for you to plug in the t-one connector. Alright, we are looking at the junction box here. It is in the top right hand corner. We are looking at it, basically facing out the back of the vehicle. We will take our t-connector and we are just going to plug it right into the socket here. Find a nice place for the module. We are just probably going to stick it back here somewhere. Then we are going to take our white ground wire and we are going to attach it to this ground right here. Alright, we will go ahead and leave that alone now. We are going to run our 4-pole wire here, along the factory harness back over to the other side. We are going to slip it underneath the plastic and hide it inside the jack storage compartment. Alright, once we have that accomplished, we will go ahead and just zip-tie the wires to secure everything together. At this point, we can go ahead and start popping the interior panels back together. 2:18
With that, our install is basically complete. We will go ahead and show you how to use it now. First off, when you are not using it, this whole wire harness will stay inside the jack storage compartment. And everything will be hidden out of the way. And when you need to use it, just go ahead and pull out a little bit of the length, go ahead and set it down here. The door shield is plenty thick it will not hurt anything if you shut the door on it. Just make sure that you stay away from the latch though. OK, we shut the hatch. Now we can go ahead and just pull out what we need to reach down to our hitch. We are done with the wiring harness out back. Let us go up to the front of the vehicle where the fuse panel is. And it is going to be on the passenger side of the vehicle. You just want to go ahead and just pull out this lid. This slot right here is where our fuse will go. Alright, now that we have our fuse in the panel, let us go ahead back to the 4-pole and test to make sure everything works. 3:10
We will test our 4-pole by taking our ground clamp and connecting it to the white wire. Then we will test our running light first, that will be the brown wire. OK, then we will try our left turn which will be the yellow wire and then right turn, which will be green. And now test our brake signal, which will be the yellow and green wire. OK, with that it looks like our test works just fine. And that will finish our install for part number 118438 from Tow Ready on our 2010 Honda Odyssey.

Delivery was quick and arrived on the date they said it would. Video was easy to follow. One thing I did different was when running the harness into the jack compartment, I ran it threw the grommet on the side of the left bumper and then down underneath the bumper to the outside. U wuld have to take 5 screws off the left of the bumper to get access to the grommet though. After I got the harness on the out side I just ran the harness between the bumper and the vehicle until it reach the hitch. Then I tiewrapped the plug next to it. No wires can b seen except the plug. Works great. Video helped a lot on the finding the junction box and removal of panels. I would recommend etrailer to any body that has a tow hitch or harness job to do.39364

Harness works great, easy install. The installation video shows exactly what you need to do. The one thing I did differently, since I need to install a brake controller, was to drill a hole in my trunk pan, cut off the connector and splice them inside the trunk pan. I got that idea from a video where they installed a brake controller and a T-One harness. As they stated in the video, use a 1/2 drill bit which will accommodate a 3/8 grommet for a perfect fit. Lastly, I sealed the hole with some silicone. Stuck all the excess wire in the compartment with the control box in case I need more slack at some point.77070

Don't be fooled by the generic "click and play" picture on the front of the box. Even though this harness is fairly easy to install, it requires removal of a lot of interior panels and, in doing do, you run the risk of breaking panel clips which you would have to get replacements from Honda. Luckily everything went fine with the installation with mine.52990

As with most towing electrical parts I would like to see the four strand wires enclosed in a more durable cable, but I suppose this would significantly increase the price. Most of the time was reinstalling the fiberglass panels as the fasteners had stayed in the metal frame. I did view the on line installation video prior to my installing. I was in a hurry to get the item but did not want to pay for the overnight shipping. I contacted customer via email and asked them to get it to my house before that Friday (I ordered Sunday). The customer service rep emailed me right away thanking me for contacting them and they would process the need ASAP. Thought these reviews were a little slanted....I was wrong! Top quality product, great instructions, every detail accounted for. The kit came with a pre-printed label for the fuse legend...seriously! Some DIY abilities required, but you wouldn't be shopping here if you didn't have those. I will do business here again!19542

Outstanding. Ordered it online Wed and it came Saturday. Installation video was a great help for project. In fact the video was so good, I didn't really use the written instructions. Installation took about 1/2 hour with no problems. The video made mention of using a trim tool - I used a dandelion extractor from my gardening tools which worked fine.15792

This product was complete and trouble free. I am not an electrician, and besides changing my own oil, not much of a mechanic. However, with the videos and the detailed instructions, I was able to install this myself in about 40 minutes! I recommend you guys to everyone who I know is purchasing a hitch, etc. I can't believe anyone would pay someone else to do the installations that you outline so easily. The wiring harness is clearly quality made, and easily installs exactly like the video shows. I like the built-in connector cover. When the harness is to be used, it is removed from the jack storage area and simply run out the back door, which is closed on the wires. I don't much like that, and would prefer some way to get the connector permanently outside the vehicle where it can be secured near the hitch, as on most vehicles, but maybe that's just not practical on the Ody.8012

Wiring Installation Excellent product and good directions from the video. I installed this on my 2005 Honda Odyssey, and no lie it took less than 15 minutes. (I watched the video 2-3 times so I had a good idea of what I was doing) No special tools needed, and I am not the most mechanically inclined. It also comes with the fuse, that goes in the front of the Honda, so that was a good bonus.3322

Solid Product at an Easy Price I must admit, I'm a weekend mechanic and was a little hesitant to dive in to this project. I've worked with plastic parts that just "snap" together/apart before. My experience has been that they are flimsy and break easily. However, the install video from eTrailer.com gave me reassurance that I just might be able to do this. I did!! It wasn't the 20 minutes that some have reported, but it wasn't over 45 minutes AND everything went back together. Hooray!! I had a little trouble with a few of the plastic snap grommets that hold the trim pieces on. Some stayed in the body mounts when the trim panels were removed. I just used some needle nose pliers and was able to pop them out and put them back in the trim before reinstalling. I'm going out on a limb and giving this product 5 stars for Reliability and Performance, even though I just installed and haven't used it yet. But there's certainly no argument that the price was great, I saved myself the cost of paying an installer, and I got to "love" my van a little more. Thanks eTrailer for the great prices and the wonderful install videos. I'll be sure to visit again when I need something on your product list.1951

Excellent Product and Video I think your videos are brilliant! (Someone deserves a raise) They really made the job of installing the wiring easy. I bought, and will soon return, a wiring harness from a national chain that did not have the T-one connector and had very vague instructions. They would have had me splicing wires…totally unnecessary when the van is pre-wired for a plug-in harness!!! Thanks to your video I did not install theirs. After trying theirs, I bought yours. It really was easy. 15-20 minutes. Also, seeing the same year and model van helped to find the hidden snaps for the interior, that saved me some time and left the van in better shape (I would have left many marks and scratches trying to get the covers off) I will recommend etrailer.com to anyone. 966

Wow, finally something that installs like they said it would. Piece of cake and everything was exactly as they said, demonstrated and put into print. Took with wiring, maybe 30 minutes.
