Installation

T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Ford F-150's wiring harness, which is located beneath your vehicle, along the driver's-side frame rail.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Ford F-150, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Video Transcript for Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 1994 Ford F150

Today we are going to install part number 118316 from Tow Ready, and this is a T-1 connector we are going to install on a 1994 Ford pickup. This is the point in the harness that we need to split apart and attach our T connector. It is right behind the bumper on the drivers side. There is a little button you push down. It is kind of hard to see on the end. You push it down and it comes apart. And you just reinstall the T connector in the middle of it and then make sure you clip it back together. And it might be a good idea to go ahead and use a zip tie to tie it off somewhere, and that is pretty much all there is to it. Just route your 4-pole wire where you want it along the frame and out by the hitch. Just zip tie it to secure it to the frame and keep it from bouncing around. Then we can route our wire out to the hitch. We will just put it by the chain loop here.

And when you are done with the hitch, make sure you tighten up the spare tire bracket if you had to loosen it to give you some room. All right, and there you have it for our install of part number 118316 from Tow Ready on our 1994 Ford F-150 pickup.

I bought the harness for an '89 F150. It was shipped quickly. It took about two minutes to install, including tying it to the frame, and it's a tight, weather-proof connection. My other option was $100 to a trailer store to splice into my wires. There is no comparison. I was really pleased.53103

These items are just what I needed for my trailer. And I was amazed at your web site. Everything is arranged in a logical manner with all the info that one would need. The thing that impressed me most was the videos. You not only supply the product but you show how to install it. Great job, thanks. Howard20033

A perfect fit as guaranteed. After washing the years of crud off the factory harness of my 1994 Ford Supercab the plug-in adapter fit perfectly into place and by boat trailer lights worked beautifully.13826

  • Brake Controller Installation on 1993 Ford F150
  • First, you will need to choose a brake controller. I would recommend a proportional controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is very easy to use and easy to set up which makes it our best selling controller. You will also need our Brake Controller Install Kit, part # ETBC7. The kit contains everything necessary to install your controller including all wiring, hardware, circuit breakers and an adapter that will convert your existing 4-pole to a 7-way connector. We have

  • Brake Controller Wiring Instructions and Video for Installation on a 1990 Ford F-150
  • Did your vehicle come equipped with the factory tow package? If so, the 7 way might be bolted to the frame member on the driver's side, behind the rear axle. You would just unbolt it, and mount it on the rear bumper. If you do not have the tow package, you would need a # 118316 T-One 4-Way Connector ( if a working 4-Way is not present), and an Electric Brake Controller Installation Kit, # ETBC7. All of the wiring, trailer connectors and parts needed to complete the installation are includ

  • Using T-1 Connector # 118316 and 4 to 7-Way Adapter # 37185 to Provide 7-Way for 1996 Ford F-350
  • For an easy installation that would require no cutting or splicing, using the Hopkins 4 to 7-Way Adapter, part # 37185 in conjunction with the T-1 harness, part # 118316 would be the way to go. The T-1 Harness would plug inline with the factory harness usually located at the rear of the frame rail on the drivers side. The 4 pole provided by the T-1 would then easily plug into the adapter. The remaining wires would connect as shown in the diagram I have linked to below.

  • Parts needed to Attach 4-Way Flat Trailer Wiring to a 4-Pin Round Harness on a 1995 Ford F-150
  • You have 3 options for connecting your trailer with a 4-Way flat connector to your F-150 with 4-Way Round connector. Probably the best way to go in the long run, would be to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector, item # 118316, to install a 4-Way Flat connector on your truck and eliminate the 4-Way round connector. I have included installation instructions for this harness for you to review. This will allow you to tow your trailer with a direct connection to the t

  • Converting a 6-Way Trailer Connector to a 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 1994 Ford F-350
  • Converting a 6-Way connector to a 7-Way connector will be easy. A 6-Way connector already has most of the functions used by a 7-Way, the only one missing is a circuit for reverse lights. If the trailer you plan to tow does not need a reverse light circuit, you will not even need to add one. You will need a 7-Way RV style vehicle side trailer connector. I recommend going with the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow, # HM48470, since it handles 7-Way, 5-Way, and 4-Way trailer connectors. In order to

  • Wiring a 7-Way RV Connector on a 1989 Ford F-250 Truck for Towing a Trailer with Electric Brakes
  • Lets start at the back of your 1989 Ford F-250 pickup. I assume that you installed a T-One Wiring Harness, # 118316, and a 4 Pole to 7 Pole adapter, like part # 37185, and that the stop, turn and tail light signals are plugged into the 4-way connector on the adapter and working. The White wire should be grounded to the truck frame, clean the area you will be connecting this wire to for a solid ground. Next, the purple wire is for the center pole in the 7-Way connector. • Purpose of White Wire on Tow Ready T-One Connector # 118316 on 1989 Ford F150
  • The white wire seen on the Tow Ready T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118316 is the ground. If you are needing a feed for reverse lights, your trailer will typically have a 5-pole trailer connector on it. You can use an adapter like part # 20036, and the extra blue wire would be tapped into the reverse light circuit on the truck.
