Tow Ready Tow Package Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness by Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch and Reese
Installation: The connection point is hanging underneath the rear of the Ford Explorer and can be found on either the driver or passenger side. Connector will have a protective cap that will need to be removed. The 4-pole trailer connector will be stowed under the Ford Explorer close to the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket is recommended.
Tech Tip: It is always a good idea to apply a small amount of grease to all electrical connections to help prevent corrosion.

Today we are working on a 2000 Ford Explorer. We will be installing Tow Ready T-One Connector part number 118241. With this particular application, the simple plug in place style. We will locate the vehicle tow connector, brand new out of the factory. There will be a plug on this that will need to be removed first. With our application, the plug has already been removed. We can simply take our new Tow Ready Connector and see that it matches up with the manufacturer plug and connect them together. We are now ready to route our 4 pole connector. 0:31
When routing your wire you want to make sure you stay from pinch points such as the moving suspension or heat such as the exhaust. We are going to go here up above the bumper structure and route it over to our new hitch. We will use a couple of zip-ties to secure my wire and our new 4 pole connector is installed. As I zip-tie the wires in place, I will just cut off the ends. That completes the installation of our Tow Ready T-One Connector part number 118241.

I'm really excited about this product, the old Ranger I got for the boy has the matching plug up under the bed, it looks to be of high quality and I was not looking forward to splicing wires on this installation. Very easy to install. Product is very easy to install if you have the towing package but it is not very long. You will need a long cable on your trailer or get an extension. It only reachs the bumper on my Explorer. Maybe the length should be stated in the product description.898
