Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Dodge Grand Caravan with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Dodge Grand Caravan's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Dodge Grand Caravan, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Dodge Grand Caravan's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Today on this 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan were going to install part number 118534 from Tow Ready. This is their T1 wiring harness. To start off our install were going ahead an opening up the back hatch. Well go ahead and remove the drivers side taillight; two bolts we have to remove, and then we can go ahead and pop it away from the body. Next, well have to disconnect the electrical. Theres a small red lock that we have to push to unlock it and then theres a small tab located towards the inside of the light that we can push down and release the wire harness from it.
Now well go ahead and repeat the same process over on the passenger side. Now we can go ahead and start installing the T1 connector. Well start off by taking the four-pole end of the wiring harness and running it between the body and the bumper cover and out down below the vehicle. Next well go ahead and take a T-connector with the green wire and do the same thing. Well let the assembly sit for now and then well look for the black wire ran from the module.
Were going to take the extra wire that comes with the kit and connect it to the black wire using the yellow butt connector. Then well take that black wire and run it between the bodywork and the bumper cover as well. Well connect the two wires and add some electrical tape to help seal it up. Next up it will be the white wire with the ring terminal. Well go ahead and ground that to the body.
Then well go ahead and clean up a spot for the module, and then well use its adhesive back to attach it to the sheet metal behind the bumper cover and below the taillight. Everythings attached. Now we can go ahead and take the T-connector with the yellow wire and connect it to the factory wire harness. Then the other half will go back to our taillight. Then we can go ahead and reinstall the taillight.
Next up is to get underneath the vehicle and well go ahead and pull out our wires. Well pull out our four-pole, black wire, and our green wire. Well go ahead and start off with the four-pole wire and run that over to the center of our bumper. Now youll notice we dont have the hitch installed on this vehicle yet. In this case, its a little bit easier to install the wiring first before the hitch. The next wire well deal with will be the green wire with the T-connector. Well run that wire all the way across to the passenger side and up to the taillight. We can go ahead and plug it into the wire harness and then plug it back into the taillight and reattach the taillight. At this time we can go ahead and start securing our wires. Were going to drill a quarter inch hole in the bumper supports so well have a place for some zip ties. Well go ahead and zip tie our wires to secure them. Well also start off with our black wire and start running it towards the front of the vehicle just to hold it up and out of the way for now. Now with all our wires secured, we can go ahead and continue with the black wire and well run it to the front of the vehicle. Well run it over the inaudible 00:04:02 components in the back and also following along the parking brake cable until we go up to the engine compartment. There well use a piece of airline tubing to help pull our wiring up. Well run it up and well go ahead and zip tie off the wire at the top to secure it and then well run it around to the positive post of the battery. With our black power wire run to the battery, well cut off the excess, strip back the end and add a yellow butt connector. Next well take our fuse holder, cut it in half and strip back the ends as well. Well connect one end to the yellow butt connector that we just installed to the other end and well get a ring terminal. Well connect that to the positive side of the battery. Now theres a post exposed so we can use that to make our attachment. Now it does not come with a nut so well be using part number 185917 to connect the wiring to the positive post. After that we can go ahead and install the fuse into the fuse holder and then secure the fuse holder. At this point we can go to the back of the vehicle and check our wiring. Well take our tester and well ground it to the white wire and then well test the brown wire for our running light circuit. The yellow wire will be our left turn signal, and our green will be our right turn signal, and our brake signal will be our yellow and green wires on at the same time. With everything working now its a good idea to go ahead and try it on a trailer. And with that, thatll finish it for our install of part number 118534 from Tow Ready on our 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Installation of this wasn't too bad. The instructions are pretty good and there are some decent diagrams. However, I've got say that I was surprised and disappointed that I had to run a line from the tail light all the way to the front of the vehicle directly to the battery. I've done of these before on an older model Grand Caravan and it was all installed in the rear. However, it seems like all of the wiring kits for this model are like this, so I assume there's a good reason for it. Anyway, I've got two bits to offer. First, I don't believe that it's good practice to have a single wire exposed to the elements, like the road, debris, heat, etc. Because of this, I bought some of the split plastic loom stuff that's very common. I used 1/4" split corrugated tubing, part # 7840K81 from McMaster-Carr. It's currently $1.94 for a 5' length, so it's pretty cheap. I bought (4) 5' lengths and used it all. FYI, I already had the line run and put the tubing on after. If you do it right, it's not bad to do, but obviously you'll have to cut any zip ties if you already did that. Second, I didn't run the harness between the tail lights on the outside, I ran it on the inside. If you feel around in the driver's side tail light cavity with one hand and the inside of the jack cavity from the back, you'll feel a "bulkhead" kind of a barrier part that you can push out. Then you can run the harness on the inside. The black plastic piece that runs on the top of the door jam (above the bumper) just pops out, as do the clips that hold the fabric down. Run your harness under that fabric. Pull the panel aside a bit on the passenger side and look for the same "barrier" part in the tail light cavity and run your connector through that way. I *don't* have a lot of interior experience in cars and I thought this was pretty easy. Good luck..... 82097
Product arrived promptly, and as described. Instruction sheet has an error, as it shows the Module being mounted in the tail light visible area on my 2013 Chry T&C . The green wire is too short Follow the VIDEO (!) , except, do not mount the module until you have the right hand tail light sockets done. (and leave handling length !) The GREEN Wire is too short to do that ! Had to remount the module down below the open area, about 6-8 inches lower in the cavity in order to plug in the sockets on the right side light. Also found vent flaps from the car jack area, so was able to feed the trailer socket and wire into the jack storage through this vent. Now the trailer plug is inside and only exposed when using a trailer by letting the door weather strip close on the wires. Used 3/8" flex cover (plastic conduit) from Home Depot so all wires are protected from the heavy winter snow undercarriage we get here up north. I think it is a very nice kit , and the wire ties included show the good thought that the manufacturer put into it. Too bad the green wire skimped on length about 6-8 inches 121126

My hitch installation went well. The wiring kit installation, however, did not. The wire that goes from the left rear lamp to the right rear lamp was about 12" too short. The black wire that goes to the battery was about 6' too short. In trying to figure out what went wrong, and then making about 3 trips to the auto parts store, and then splicing in additional length of wires, I spent pretty much the whole day completing this project. My suspicion is that the wiring kit was a returned package. The plastic enclosure was taped closed and the black wire inside was not neatly wound, like a new wire would be - and like what was shown in the picture on the instruction sheet. If that is the case, I would like to recommend that you do not sell returned wiring kits unless they are completely inspected, including measuring the wires. The job is done, it just took alot longer than it should have and cost me a little more than it should have. 129954
Design of the harness made it very simple to place in my vehicle. I am assuming that the need for a separate fused connection to the battery has provided the trailer circuit with a separate supply so that if a fault occurs, there will be no loading of the vehicle circuits. (Instructions do not discuss this situation.) Installation instructions were adequate, but video available on the web made it fool proof. Green wire from left to right assembly was a bit too short, but easily corrected with a 10" splice. Running the power wire up thru the space in the engine compartment required a bit of planning to miss any moving steering or drive components, but tiewraps made clearances proper. I haven't checked out the trailer lights yet, but the connection has not interfered with my vehicle wiring. If the trailer lights work I will consider this an outstanding product well worth the cost. 26924

The product install videos for the wiring harness and the hitch are what convinced me to do it myself and SAVED ME over $350.00 from the price the dealer was quoting me. These videos are excellent and I had no trouble at all with the installation by carefully following the advice given on your online videos. Re: feedback on the green wire from driver's side taillight to passenger side taillight... I ran it first and reinstalled the passenger taillight back in place BEFORE I adhered the circuit module inside the driver's side taillight compartment to ensure that I had enough slack on the green wire (other reviews noted that they had to splice the green wire to make it long enough). Everything else I did exactly by your install videos and I'm on my way! Thanks for the huge savings $$$ Cha-Ching!!! 41118

The poor rating is not for the product by itself but as it relates to a particular vehicle. This wiring harness was purchased for a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. The package labeling stated it was for a 2011 vehicle. The 2011 caravan is smaller than the 2014. The green wire to the right side is too short. Yes – I read the other comments that said as much but, I thought I was “smarter than the average bear” and would be able to make it fit with proper placement of the module. It fit – just barely. It was so tight I thought the wires would pull out of the connectors so in the end I spliced in about 10 inches. E-trailer really needs to get/sell an updated version of this instead of selling a 2011 version for the newer vehicles. 143183

I liked being able to watch the video to know what I was getting into. Laying on my back under the vehicle was a bit more difficult than the video. I added some loam (covering) to the green wire as I routed it around the bumper up into the tail light area. Looked like a good pinch point/rub area. I added 10" of wire to the green cross over wire to improve the routing through the rear bumper. Definitely need more zip ties in the kit. They are cheap. I also added 12" of loam to the 4 wires as I routed over the hitch and rest the connector in the bumper cover. Makes it more rigid so it doesn't fall down. Overall I am satified with the final product and would do it again. 79152

This is the third Grand Caravan on which I have installed a trailer hitch and wiring harness (02, 05 and 12). The 02 and 05 hitches were purchased from Chrysler and the 12 from you folks. This is the first time I had to run a wire from the tail light to the battery. I watched the video and I knew what I was getting into, but I never thought it would be so much trouble to install that wire. I don't know how they do it, but all I had to do was plug in the "T" connectors. Your price really attracted me, but in retrospect, I think I would rather have paid a little more for the harness. The hitch went right on. Great price. 74910

After installing a receiver 13364 with my 12 yr old friend David, we were ready to install the wiring harness. In the past, I've always bought the el-cheapo kits that were available and dug around in the van wiring harnesses looking for the correct wires. Very time consuming and a lot of knowledge needed. This kit is a very reasonable price and as complete as they can get. After reading the directions, David did most of the work and enjoyed every minute of it. A perfect learning experience for a boy, which was both thought provoking and fun. It works as designed and the installation doesn't get any easier than this kit. 63574

The connections to the tail lights were perfect. I had no problem with the length of the passenger's side green wire as others have metioned. The control module mounts nicely on the slanted part of the driver's side inner tail light wall. The challenge was working in my driveway with out a lift when it was time to install the long black wire to the positive side of the battery. I only had the scissor jack from the van. I am a little weary of running the power wire under the van. I think this is the place where the wiring harness will fail in the future. The total install time for me was 2 hours. 90122

I have not hoo me ed it up to a trailer yet, but the product is exactly as advertised. I utilized the convenient video provided by etrailer.com and had it put in properly in no time. The only thing I would suggest is that the manufacturer provide more than one battery connection loop and more than one wire quick connect. The ones provided slipped off and I had to run up to the store to get more which required me to put the project, tail lights etc., back on the car so I could drive safely. Even with this hick up I still had it fully installed with in 2 hours. 130717

Great instructions with the kit. The green lead to the passenger side could be longer though -- the shortest route is a bit tight around corners. 27261
Install was pretty simple, took about an hour. This kit was thought out and tested, this was obvious when you find that all of the wire lengths are perfect. One piece of advice, when removing the connector from the light assembly, slide red piece up, then press the black piece that was under the red slide, once you figure this out it slides apart easily. I am not a big fan of butt connectors, typically I solder wires together. I did use the butt connectors, but, I will probably go back and solder them together. 74753

Instructions are very clear. Everything is exactly the right length; for my Grand Caravan there is about 12 inches of lead from the bumper to the trailer hook up. Perfect! I chose to run the black power lead inside the car, up the driver's side, instead of underneath as shown in the instructions. I ran the wire through new holes I poked in the taillight wire gromet and then through the hood latch gromet, upper left side in front of driver's feet. Easy to install and works great!!! Thank you etrailer.com. 23609

This wiring harness worked perfect. I read a review which stated the green wire wasn't long enough. Mine was. I routed & hooked up the green wire BEFORE mounting the control module & before I wire tied the harness to anything. This method provides all the slack you need for a perfect install. I recieved an email with tracking info and the items were in my hands a couple of days ahead of schedule. The people are knowledgeable, friendly & effecient. I will definitely do business with them again. 77535

OOPS! I guess I reviewed the wiring harness with my hitch review. The harness was also easy to install, just as your video showed. I read some reviews that said the green wire going to the right tail-light was too short. It wasn't. One has to adhere the box under the left tail-light, and then the wire has an inch or two to spare. It would be hard to send a photo of the wiring, as I did with the hitch review. Good price, short delivery, easy installation. Couldn't be more satisfied. 54613
by: John R.05/05/2013
This was very easy to install. The wire to the passenger side just barely long enough to reach, so plan your positioning well. I haven't tried it on a trailer yet, but I expect it will work perfectly as all my vehicle lights do. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and the hidden hitch trailer hitch was very easy to install just as the videos illustrated. I I talked the hitch and harness in less than an hour with even jacking up the vehicle. 79069

I'm not really sure about this one! The last T-One wiring kit we ordered a couple months ago was a whole bunch less complicated than this one is. There seems to be as much wiring in the package as is on the vehicle, but I understand. The newest vehicle is a '12 with LED lights, etc. I installed the hitch but will wait for my wife's assistance to do the wiring! I'm sure it's not that difficult but, as a man, I am NOT allowed to read directions! 47698
by: David C.06/16/2013
The wiring harness was good. Had doubts after I read the other reviews that complained about the green wire being short. I did not have that problem. My problem was finding a good path for the wire going to the battery.. The double sticky patch on the black box really sticks.. just touched it to the car body and it was permanent. Drove across town to try it on the trailer and found out I forgot the fuse! Glad I found this site.. 84876
by: Jesse O.05/12/2014
Installation went great, made possible by etrailer's instructional video (search YouTube for "etrailer wiring 2013 town and country"). Without the video, installation would have been much more difficult as the written instructions that come with the wiring kit are not very good at all. Like is stated in the video, you will need some additional zip ties that are longer than the ones supplied in the kit. 130091
by: John A07/14/2014
Good product, great service! This is my 2nd purchase made here. I traded my Kia Sedona in for a Dodge Grand Caravan; therefore, the repeat. The Hidden Hitch hugs the rear seat fold-in so well that there should be no contact with the exhaust at all. I have yet to use it with trailer, but do not expect any problems. I buzzed out the electrical and all was working. Sorry, no picture yet. 141304
by: Cameron W.07/10/2014
The wiring harness was fairly simple to install, but the instructions were vague in spots and didn't have the correct information for our van on some of the steps. I've done these before, so I knew what to do in general. All the parts needed were in the kit and the wires were long enough and the plug-n-play connectors worked well. Wouldn't want to wire up a new vehicle any other way! 140627
by: Russell S.04/24/2014
This trailer wiring was easy to install. My son and I did it in about an hour. Watching the install video gives you the confidence and knowledge to do this yourself. The "T" connection prevents from having to cut any wires. Just run the wire and connect both tail lights before sticking the power module and ground wire to make sure you have enough wire. 127198
by: James California01/24/2014
This by far was much easier than I thought. I will add though that the passenger side tail light connection was a bit short. The green wire could have been about a foot longer. Also since both wires would be exposed I ran the power wire inside under the interior trim of my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan and also chose to use wire loom to protect them. 114653
by: Robert L.09/03/2014
What a great setup! I had no problems at all. Everything was the right length for a 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. More zip ties would be nice. Note that like it says in the video, there isn't a nut for the battery post connection. In my case, I just split the ring terminal with my dikes and slipped in under the clamp nut for now until I can get a nut. 149890
WHY DON'T YOU ADD ANOTHER FOOT TO THE GREEN WIRE THAT RUNS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT. ALMOST EVERY CUSTOMER REVIEW I READ MENTIONED THAT IT WAS A LITTLE TOO SHORT. Other than that, I Found your T-One wiring harness on youtube and reviewed the installation video. Followed the enclosed directions for an easy install. 131934
by: Harold Dudley04/26/2012
the green wire in this kit is to short (about 10 inches) had to splice the wire in order to plug in the passenger side tail lights. other than that it was an easy install. But add some more green wire length. just lucky I had some of the same size wire in my garage to complete the job. thanks harold dudley 38528

Great product, easy to install, green line to passenger side should be about 9-12" longer. Have purchased several items from E-Trailer and have found the service and support to be outstanding. This item was ordered on a Saturday morning and received early on Tuesday. You just don't see that kind of service. 88847

I have installed a few of this style wiring harness on my other vehicles. I received the harness within a few days after ordering and it installed fairly quickly. I tested things out and everything works great! I would be happy to recommend this item to anyone looking to add trailer wiring. 48073
I suggest during install run the wires to the passenger side before mounting the black box on the driver's side to be sure there is enough slack. My only criticism would be for the manufacturer to provide more and longer cable ties. I happen to have some on hand so no big deal. 133315
by: nick d.09/13/2013
works good. installed inside van under door thresholds and throu firewall at hood release gramlet to battery.install time about 1 hour give or take. green wire side of harness could be about 12 inches longer but it just was long enough to make passenger side. 99759
by: John G.07/08/2013
This wiring was a good package and was delivered quickly. The install was also well described. Routing the wire from the taillilght to the battery terminal was a little tricky (but would have been easier if I had been able to put the car on a lift). 88050

It is a strong well built hitch, along with the wiring kit, was all attached to the 2013 Town and Country with no problems. Works well. Minor setback was the hitch was apparently bent a little and needed a little reshaping to fit the frame. 149605
by: Mike G04/29/2014
This is such a great way to go with the wiring of these harnesses. Less than 60 minutes from start to finish and it worked great. One tip, do not peel and stick the module until the passenger side light is connected. 127905

This product was a breeze to install. It only took about a hour to install. Everything you need to complete the job is in the box. Would recommend this wiring harness to anyone. Thanks etrailer! 54506
by: Chris Schray08/05/2014
Great product. Easy to install. I chose to put module in the tire jack compartment to keep it out of the elements. Only improvement would be to make the left side wire set about 6" longer. 144560

This install was Very easy to do if you have any mechanical experience at all. It is just as they sdvertise and show in the how to video. Follow the video an you will be fine!!! 84060
I highly recommend Etrailer and this harness for anybody that wants to save money and install wiring themselves. Everything went together perfectly and just as the video showed. 77514
Installation went OK. The video was very helpful, I watched it a couple times before I started the install and again during the installation. Satisfied with the product. 96734

Product was easy to install. The only complaint is the Green wire to the passenger side taillight is a little to short. Green wire should be about 6 inches longer. 107257

produce was everything they said it was ,everything worked find . Was pleased with product, alway have gotten a good price and a good information with etrailer. 77406
Good quality, much better than splicing wires, as each connection is a source of problems. Ran the power lead to the battery in 3/8 black flex, rock solid! 34690

Great product, great directions for install and great customer service. Very pleased with results. Makes installing Hitch so much easier. 93770

Plug and play is great, but the LED taillights require you to run a power wire to the battery which is easy if you follow the brake lines. 23548
Video was a big help since this installation required a wire all the way to the battery terminal. Everything worked the first time. 39234
This is one company with their ducks in a row. Thank you very much for the excellent product and delivery. Keep up the great work. 66442
looks like a good product and instructions are very good. hope to get around to installing it in the next week or so. 64392
SO EASY! I had no previous experience with wiring and there was nothing to it. 4 bolts and some zip ties. Great Job! 90789
