Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Chrysler Town and Country with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered converter reduces strain on wiring system and is made using SMT to ensure superior performance.
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Chrysler Town and Country's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your Chrysler Town and Country, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.
Each Curt circuit board is made using high-quality components that are pieced together in the most technologically savvy fashion, leading to greater predictability and reliability in functioning.

All right. Today on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, we're going to install part number C56150 from Curt. This is Curt T connector wiring harness with a 4-pole flack. First thing we need to do is get the van ready to install our wire harness. We'll go ahead and open up the back hatch and remove the tail lights. We'll need a ten millimeter socket to remove the lights.
Sometimes it helps to use a plastic pry tool to help work it loose. Sometimes it helps to rock it back and forth, to get that pin out. We disconnect our electrical from the tail light. We have to undo the red lock, here. Then we can go ahead and pull it out.
Slide that red tab back, and then push this one down, and it comes apart. Driver's side done. Repeat on the passenger side. Now we can go ahead and start installing our wire harness. We'll take our four-pole, run it through the bottom between the sheet metal and the bumper cover. We'll take our T connector and plug it into our wire harness from the van, until it snaps in place.
We'll just let this sit for now. That way, this holds it. That will keep it from falling all the way in. Then we'll take our T connector with the green wire and drop it into place. Eventually, this will be ran to the other side.
We're going to pull it out. Now we've got our black wire for the module. This will eventually be ran up to the battery, so we'll go ahead and add our extra length of wire that comes from the kit, to this wire. Use our inaudible 00:02:01 that comes with the kit, to make our connection. Now we'll go ahead and take our wire, and drop it through, as well. We'll go ahead and take up our slack. Let's take our four-pole then. We'll go ahead and route it to the center of the hitch. We'll just tie it off for now. Take our green wire with the T connector, and we'll go ahead and route it to the other side. We'll go ahead and pull up our T connector, and plug it into the wire harness, here. With the wires routed, we'll go ahead and reinstall our tail lights. The T connector will plug right back in to the tail light. Then we can go ahead and put it back into place. Driver's side, done. Repeat on the passenger side. Take our white wire, and we'll go ahead and ground it to the bumper. At this point, we'll go ahead and find a location to mount our module. We're just going to clean off the inside edge, here. Then we'll use adhesive to mount it. We'll go ahead and drill some small holes in these brackets, and use zip ties to hold our wires up. We'll inaudible 00:04:41 on our zip ties. We'll go ahead and use a loom clamp to help hold these two wires together, up underneath our bumper. We'll use another inaudible 00:04:55 screw to hold It in place. The part number we're using is A0500. Then we'll continue with the black wire, going toward the front. Here's our power wire. It's attached to the hitch. Run across this point here, above the suspension. Work our way along the brake lines, over to gas tank fill tube, over some more brake lines. Then we just follow the parking brake cable all the way up to the front. We ran this old piece of airline tubing, to help pull our wire from the bottom to the top. This also could be a stiff piece of wire or inaudible 00:05:32 tape, as well. Let's go ahead and attach the two together. In this case, just get one inside the other. Then we'll go to the top and pull it out. We'll go ahead and pull up the wire, and we'll go ahead and zip tie it off to secure it. We're going through a lot of zip ties at this point. More than will come from the kit, so you may want to go out and get you some more. We'll take our wire and run it to the positive post. That will give us more than enough wire to work with. We'll cut off our excess, and then add our fuse holder. Now the fuse holder, one end will get a buck connector, and the other end will get a ring terminal. We'll take our black wire and connect it up to the other side of the buck connector, and help seal it up a little bit with the electric tape. Then we'll go and take the ring terminal, and connect it to the positive post for our battery. We'll connect our wire to this stud right here; it's not being used. We're going to add additional flat washer and a 6-millimeter nut. Now the nut we're using is part number 185916. We'll take our fuse that comes with the kit, and put it into the fuse holder. Let's take our fuse holder and secure it. We'll then tuck our wire alongside the battery. With all our wires installed, it's a good idea to go ahead and try out our 4-pole harness with a test light. All right. Let's go ahead and try it out. Take our ground wire, connect it to our white wire, then test our brown wire for running light circuit. Good Okay. Now we'll try our yellow for left turn. Then we'll try our green for our right turn. Now we'll go look for our brake signal, which will be a solid signal on a yellow and green. Looks like everything works. Now would be a good time to untie our wire. It might be a good idea to put some inaudible 00:07:52 material, to help cover up the colors of the wires, as well. The lieu material we're using is part number 459075-1. We'll use our cap to hold our four-pole to the hitch, and then we'll go ahead and maybe zip tie our excess back up, and we'll be good to go. All right. With that, that will finish it for our install, part number C56150 from Curt, on our 2013 Chrysler Town and Country. .
Average Customer Rating: 4.4 out of 5 stars (69 Customer Reviews)Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. I purchased this Curt wiring harness (made in USA) over the other cheaper option, and it was a good decision. The installation went reasonably well and most importantly when I got all done it worked. You really need to plan where all the wires are going to be routed before you start. The flat connector and the black power wire I routed inside the car, and the right light taillight under the frame. I put the flat connector inside the compartment where the jack is stored and when I need it I just pull it out. Hints: Review the online video before you start, it gives you a good overview of what to expect. Make sure you install the control box as low as possible in the light well otherwise you will not have enough green wire to run to the other light. Use black tape on all the connectors to make sure they do not come apart. Running the wire inside the vehicle was pretty easy. I fished the wire under all the inside trim panels and went through the firewall in the same place the hood release cable did. It was a lot cleaner and I did not have to deal with where to attach the wire under the car. Areas that could be better: The installation instructions are pretty basic, and could use some help. Make sure you stare at the wiring diagram before you start the install. The green wire that goes to the right side light needs to be at least a foot longer. You have to be real creative in routing the wire to get it to fit. I had to re-run the wire several times to get it to fit. The double stick tape to attach the control box to the light compartment does not work well. The area you need to put the box in is not flat thus making the tape unusable. I ended up putting two strips of duct tape on it to hold it in place 38115

With the video it was a pretty straightforward installation. Like some others I felt the green wire was too short. Rather than spend time to find the perfect routing, I just spliced in an extra foot of wire and everything fit. The most time consuming part was running the power wire to the battery. Again the video helped in that, but if you don't have a lift you will have to spend some time on you back getting it all done. I had some zip ties with mounting holes in them and I used them on the wires coming out of the control box, so that even if the self adhesive tape doesn't work the box is held in place by wire ties. I probably spent 2 hours on the wiring installation. 88285

Trailer hitch was very easy to install. Backed van up incline until rear wheels were in garage. removed two exhaust hanger bolts and five bolts for hitch.had plenty of room without jacking. Used small stool to raise right side of hitch close to final area and then used scissors jack to lift driver side into position.loosley replaced bolts on driver side first then moved scissors jack to right side and finished lifting hitch into position. Exhaust pipe didn't move very much but overcame that by using socket with universal. replaced hanger bolts tightened all bolts. Done! Wiring harness went very smoothly as chrysler provided a nice opening on rear quarter interior behind jack storage to mount module on their module. a rubber and plastic exhaust air opening provided room to put wires out to hitch and to rear lights, only issue there as others have noted is green wire is too short. Only time consuming issue was routing wire up to battery without jacking vehicle. I also spent $3.00 to put plastic shielding over wire to battery. Used a plastic block and stainless clamps to mount bracket all is working fine 158119

Installation was straight forward and took me about an hour. I routed the passenger side tail light wiring before securing the module in the drivers side tail light space. The green wire was long enough as I made sure it was on top of the bumper ledge and trailer hitch brackets after reading the other reviews. It is very easy to route it so it will be to short. I purchased 20 ft of small wire loom for the power cord and secured it with wire ties under the car. It was pretty easy but there were not enough wire ties in the kit. I used about 15 wire ties for a very neat installation of the power cable. I also cut a slit in the rubber grommet in the drivers side tail light well and ran the trailer hook up wire into the car jack compartment. This made the wire a little short but I was able to purchase an extension. For me it is much better to have the trailer wire inside of the mini van rather than trying to find a spot to secure it underneath the van when not in use. Every thing works no problems. 90973

It took me well over 3 hrs to install. 1. The green wire is about 2" too short. I cut and spliced in 4" and added plastic protective looms. If you do not do this the tight wire will cut and short on the sharp metal through which is the only possible path. (HOW MUCH MONEY did they save by making this wire 2" short?? Screwing with this took most of my installation time...trying diff paths, splicing etc. etc.) 2. The adhesive strip is a joke ..held only for about 10 minutes. I got desperate and used Liquid Nails...doesn't move ..yet. 3.ran black power wire through where the jack is kept then tucked it between the carpet and rocker panel step and out aside the hood release grommet. I have not yet hitched up a trailer to test. 83160

Very please with the kit and ease of installation. I have added a wiring harness to four vans over 30 years, and this was the easiest. Even with having to run a wire to the battery. I did have to add 6" to the green wire, but wonder if undercoating lengthened the path. There appeared to be a slit that I could have slid the wire into as a shorter path, but it was clogged - and adding wire seemed to be easier. The online video was key - the packaged instructions are minimal if you have never installed a wiring kit. * The nut on my battery terminal is about an M6-1.00, not the larger nut listed in the video. I found a usable nut in my loose hardware drawer, so I don't have the exact size. 97802

I always buy the vehicle specific wiring harnesses for the vehicles I tow with, the customized connections and considerations for wire routing saves a lot of headaches. My only complaint pertaining to this part is the wire for the T-Connector for the right side (passenger side) extension was too short, this wire (green) could stand to be ~12" longer for future production. I had to splice a 12" segment in order to make the connector reach my taillight housing, plus leave some slack to allow bulb change outs. If you buy this harness, I suggest having a couple extra butt connectors and a small piece of comparable gauge wire so you can extend it. 162892
by: Jesse T.06/05/2014
The harness was delivered quickly. The install instructions were good. I found the video was extremely helpful. The only issue I ran into was the green wire to the passenger side tail-light was too short. I read about this in other reviews and was prepared for this. I had to splice in about 18" of green wire. The longest part of the install was routing the power wire to the battery. I found it useful to jack up the driver side rear to get more clearance for routing the power wire. That being said it might have taken me about an hour to install. 134384

Hitch was nice, had to remove 2 exhaust hangers to gain access to bolts on passenger side. Rubs bumper cover at bottom, but mounts solid so hopefully no damage. Wiring harness from Curt was tight to get from drivers taillight to passenger side underneath, not much room to maneuver taillight into place. About 2 1/2-3hrs to install hitch and wire everything up and test working by myself. Use 6 inch extension on ratchet and it will give you much more room to tighten down bolts for the hitch, especially with the torque wrench. 81210

Having read other reviews I knew the green wire was going to be short(you would think that after so many years and so many complaints about this that the mfg would add 12" more to make it easy.)Because of this, I started installing the green wire first and then the drivers side-everything came together perfect by doing it like that. I also used split flex tubing on the wires going behind the hitch-took a little longer but well worth it. Overall very satisfied-the videos made it so much easier-Thanks 108659
by: Charlie P.07/22/2013
I was stalling on this installation, I thought all my good fortune had been used when the receiver installed so easily. The wiring was a breeze, I installed the passenger side harness before mounting the adapter box and had just enough wire to make it fit. Running the +12V supply went smoothly. I cheated though, I ran a 12Ga wire back to a small water tight fuse distribution block. One fuse is feeding the adapter box and the other is for my 7 pin trailer connector. 90784
The white wire and green wire were each a foot short. Wire had to be purchased and connected to what was provided, to make the two wires fit. Because of that it took so much longer to install than the video suggested. Other than that, the product is great. It has been used to pull a trailer and works as expected.....perfectly. The product arrived quickly. The online video installation instructions were very helpful. 133636

Bought a Curt Hitch and this T connector. The hitch went on in 45 minutes, without a jack, ramps, or anything. 7 bolts (5 for the hitch, and 2 to move the muffler out of the way temporarily) and it was done. The T connector took the same amount of time, and was simple to install. An hour and a half total, and I saved $700 off dealer charges, and $200 off the quote from a local hitch installer. I'm very satisfied! 141374

I ordered The products and 4 days later they arrived. The hitch was a custom fit and fit like a glove. The wiring took more time as I am fussy. I did have to lengthen the green wire going to the PS Rear and I ran the wires through loom. E-Trailer is the best as they have videos to show you how they done it and how it fit without you being the guinea-pig. They are a class act 116854

Install was easy. I used more cable ties than the kit provided. Before you buy into the "green wire is too short" theory, remove the warning flag that is wrapped around the harness and route the green wire carefully. Wait until the wires are all routed (except for the power wire) to mount the controller, and put the double adhesive on the controller before you start installing. The video really helps. 147553
Everything was going as I expected until I ran the wire to the R/S tail light. The wire is too short, I had to add a short extension to the green wire so that it would reach the R/S connecter. This T-Connector does fit my 2014 Chrysler T&C. 110004
Do not buy. The harness length is too short for the passenger light. It is 80 inches or 6 feet 8 inches to go from driver's light down to bumper across to passenger side and up to passenger light. The length required is 120 inches or 10 feet. It also came without the fuse holder. However it did have all the warnings and instruction for the fuse holder in the plastic bag but no holder. 157988
by: Bruce B04/28/2014
The wiring harness was exactly as described. Instructions were easy to follow and installation went smoothly. Since it was completed only yesterday, I have not had a chance to hook up the trailer for operational check. This is much better than cobbling together your own wiring from various pieces. A small improvement would be soldered wire splices with shrink wrap for under the car. 127773

This is the second wiring kit I have installed in a Dodge Grand Caravan. The difficulty I found was the green wire that connects the left tail light to the right was about 12 inches to short. I routed that wire behind the bumper with the 4 conductor wire and it was about a foot to short to go up to the left tail light plug. It took me about 10 mins to extend it. Y.S. 128458
by: Mike S.04/04/2014
I installed the wiring harness with no problems except one. I had read in other reviews that the wire to the passenger side T-connector was too short to reach the taillight assembly but had assumed that it was the result of installer error. However, I also found it to be about one foot short which required me to splice in a piece of wire. Curt - Please lengthen this wire! 123687
by: Ray T.05/01/2014
Product arrived as scheduled. I watched the video first, so the installation went without any issues. The wire length from the left tail light to the module could be 2 inches longer, so the module could be glued to the inside of the fascia with more ease. My only complaint is the cost, half the price of the hitch. The installation was on a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. 128415

Arrived one day sooner than expected. Took about two hours for my son and I to install both hitch and lighting kit (including raising and lowering). I used a floor jack to lift it until I got the bolts started. I'm 70 years old and this really was a piece of cake. Oh, this was installed on a 2013 Town and Country and it looks Great! Dodge Grand Caravan 2014 .Hitch went on no problem, wiring, had to add to the "Green Wire" to reach right side. I put green wire and hot wire to battery in poly loom. Found that at harbor freight. Package 1/4" x 14ft. item # 66985 .Protective wire wrap $ 2.99 each .Used two. Used many nylon ties. etrailer got my purchase because of great videos and info. 134606

If the green wire for passenger side had been long enough, the installation would have taken less than an hour, but splicing in about a foot of green wire slowed the process. I see this as a complaint in various other comments, the manufacturer should be notified to correct this problem. To late for pictures, the procedure is all closed up. 146446
by: Mike S08/10/2014
This product worked well, installed easily, and did everything it was supposed to. The only reason I did not give it a 5 is because the wire that went from the drivers side to the passenger's side should have been a little longer. This made the installation a little harder than it needed to be, but we made it work anyway. 145549
The only problem with this product is that the green wire going from the left signal light to the right signal light is not long enough. I reread the instructions and watched the video a 2nd time. I wasted to much time trying to route it before I spliced an extension on to it. The rest of the installation went fine. 162257

This company was fabulous! Rebecca called me personally to correct an issue, and helped me through my ordering process, along with follow up emails. This was all, greatly appreciated. Thank you. I will recommend this company to everyone, and will use it again personally. Excellent customer service :) 136346

Installed the entire wiring harness in under an hour. Same comment as everyone else, green wire is too short, added about 8" of wire to extend. would be even better if you did not have to run power wire to front of vehicle. Other than that, installs easy ( I like the "T" taps) seems like a good product. 130956
by: Carl J10/05/2013
This produce packaging lists what vans it will work on and a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan is not listed. The green wire going to the passenger side tail light is about 6 inches short as the connector on these tail lights "2013 Dodge Grand Caravan" points up and not down as shown on instruction PDF file. 102655
by: Richard T.04/30/2014
Product was easy to install, but like those who have already commented, the green wire is 8 inches too short. It didn't matter how you routed the wire, you had to add 8 inches of additional length. Considering the price, this is something that Curt, the manufacturer, should fix. 128221
This is the second product I've ordered from etrailer and it will not be my last! Dealing with this company has been one of the easiest on line ordering experiences in my life. My product is correct and delivered on or before the stated date. Keep up the good work etrailer. 160812
I found this wiring kit easy to install as it took only a few hours--routing the wires took the most time--and it works perfectly. So no complaints here and really like the fact did not have to splice the original factory wiring. 97995

I installed hitch and wiring harness today for my daughter. Everything went smoothly except for when I had to move the relay from where I had orginally mounted it I will have to get more two sided tape to restick it. 88340
by: Ross C.06/13/2013
Over all the installation was very simple. There was one problem, while placing the control box I needed to have the green side in place to make sure that cable was long enough. Other than that it went very easy. 84566
by: Ben M.06/16/2013
Worked great. Relatively easy to install. However, one of the wires was JUST long enough (pulled tight in order to stretch from tail light to tail light). Other than that, it was great. 84882

Not what I expected for the money, the worst part was the crossover wire from left to right for turn signal was too short and I had to improvise. I will not order from here again. 156974
I can not see why people pay big buck paying someone to install the hitch and the wiring when it is so easy. Chrysler wanted $700.00 to do the job. with etrailer I paid $200.00. 136186

Harness worked great and easy to install. It could use alittle extra wire from tail light plug to tail light plug. Other than that happy with the product 165814
The hitch arrived as advertised, and had a perfect fit. The brochure said 25 minute installation, that could never happen, allow twice that time. 126041
