Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your Chrysler Town and Country with this custom wiring harness. T-One connector plugs directly into existing wiring. Powered ModuLite reduces strain on wiring system.

Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your Chrysler Town and Country's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your Chrysler Town and Country, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your Chrysler Town and Country's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Today on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country well be installing the Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118534. Now to begin our installation were going to open the rear tailgate to access the screws that hold the taillights in place. Well remove the bolts holding the taillights and carefully pry the taillight housing rearward away from the vehicle being very careful not to break the alignment tabs. Once weve removed the taillights from the vehicle we can pull the red tab here on the connector. Well then push the button and allow the connector to separate. Now here on the drivers side well take the T connector in with the yellow wire and connect it to the vehicle wiring and lock it into place.
Well now drop the entire wiring kit down behind the bumper cover where we can then move underneath the vehicle and route our green wire across between the bumper and the bumper cover itself. Well route the green wire up behind the fascia to the passengers side taillight area where we can then connect it to the vehicle wiring here on the passengers side. With the green wire connected, we can then connect the other side of our T connector to the passengers side taillight and go ahead and reassemble the passengers side taillight to the vehicle. Well now move underneath the vehicle where well find our modulite box. Well pass it back behind the bumper cover to the drivers side taillight area.
Now youll want to do this because the green wire that runs to the passengers side may be short if you dont run it first. Now that we have our modulite box here in the drivers side, well need to connect our black wire supplied with the install kit that will run up to our battery. Well use one of the two yellow butt connectors included with the kit. Well strip back the insulation and connect the two wires together using the yellow butt connector. With that done we can pass the black wire down to the bottom of the vehicle behind the bumper cover.
Well also take our 4-pole connector and pass it down behind the bumper cover to the bottom of the vehicle. We can then remove the adhesive tape protector on the back of the modulite box and after cleaning the surface of the vehicle go ahead and adhere it making sure to keep it clear of our taillight housing. At this point well also need to install our ground. In the modulite box kit is a self tapping screw. Well use that screw to make our ground.
Well put the white wire with the eyelet through the self tapping screw and make a ground connection here on the body of the vehicle. Now with all that done, we can go ahead and reinstall our drivers side taillight remembering to plug the other side of the T1 connector into the back of the taillight housing. Back underneath the vehicle here we can go ahead and pull out the remaining black wire as well as our 4-pole harness. Well route our 4-pole toward the center of the vehicle making sure its secure between the bumper and the rear bumper fascia itself. Were now ready to route our black wire. Now weve gone ahead and began our wiring installation before the hitch was installed. Well go ahead and install our hitch now just to show you what it would look like with the hitch on it. Well now route our black wire up toward our battery. Well need to make sure we stay away from any hot components such as your vehicles exhaust or moving components like the vehicle suspension. The way I like to run it is following a factory wiring harness or the brake lines. This will give you a good attachment point to attach the wire to using the black zip ties included with the kit. Up here with the engine compartment weve ran our black wire and were ready to connect our fuse holder. Well cut the excess black wire and strip back the insulation. Well then use the other yellow butt connector and attach it to the black wire. We can then grab our fuse holder where well cut the wire and strip the insulation and attach that end to the other side of the butt connector. Now on the other side of our fuse holder, well strip the insulation back and install our yellow ring terminal. With that installed we can then undo the battery positive terminal and connect our ring terminal to it. With that done well take our blue 15-amp fuse and install it into our fuse holder which will complete the installation of the Tow Ready T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness, part number 118534 on our 2012 Chrysler Town & Country.

This wiring harness worked perfect. I read a review which stated the green wire wasn't long enough. Mine was. I routed & hooked up the green wire BEFORE mounting the control module & before I wire tied the harness to anything. This method provides all the slack you need for a perfect install. I recieved an email with tracking info and the items were in my hands a couple of days ahead of schedule. The people are knowledgeable, friendly & effecient. I liked being able to watch the video to know what I was getting into. Laying on my back under the vehicle was a bit more difficult than the video. I added some loam (covering) to the green wire as I routed it around the bumper up into the tail light area. Looked like a good pinch point/rub area. I added 10" of wire to the green cross over wire to improve the routing through the rear bumper. Definitely need more zip ties in the kit. They are cheap. I also added 12" of loam to the 4 wires as I routed over the hitch and rest the connector in the bumper cover. Makes it more rigid so it doesn't fall down. Overall I am satified with the final product and would do it again.79152

This was very easy to install. The wire to the passenger side just barely long enough to reach, so plan your positioning well. I haven't tried it on a trailer yet, but I expect it will work perfectly as all my vehicle lights do. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and the hidden hitch trailer hitch was very easy to install just as the videos illustrated. I I talked the hitch and harness in less than an hour with even jacking up the vehicle. 79069

Install was pretty simple, took about an hour. This kit was thought out and tested, this was obvious when you find that all of the wire lengths are perfect. One piece of advice, when removing the connector from the light assembly, slide red piece up, then press the black piece that was under the red slide, once you figure this out it slides apart easily. I am not a big fan of butt connectors, typically I solder wires together. I did use the butt connectors, but, I will probably go back and solder them together.74753

After installing a receiver 13364 with my 12 yr old friend David, we were ready to install the wiring harness. In the past, I've always bought the el-cheapo kits that were available and dug around in the van wiring harnesses looking for the correct wires. Very time consuming and a lot of knowledge needed. This kit is a very reasonable price and as complete as they can get. After reading the directions, David did most of the work and enjoyed every minute of it. A perfect learning experience for a boy, which was both thought provoking and fun. It works as designed and the installation doesn't get any easier than this kit.63574

OOPS! I guess I reviewed the wiring harness with my hitch review. The harness was also easy to install, just as your video showed. I read some reviews that said the green wire going to the right tail-light was too short. It wasn't. One has to adhere the box under the left tail-light, and then the wire has an inch or two to spare. It would be hard to send a photo of the wiring, as I did with the hitch review. Good price, short delivery, easy installation. Couldn't be more satisfied.54613

I'm not really sure about this one! The last T-One wiring kit we ordered a couple months ago was a whole bunch less complicated than this one is. There seems to be as much wiring in the package as is on the vehicle, but I understand. The newest vehicle is a '12 with LED lights, etc. I installed the hitch but will wait for my wife's assistance to do the wiring! I'm sure it's not that difficult but, as a man, I am NOT allowed to read directions! 47698

The product install videos for the wiring harness and the hitch are what convinced me to do it myself and SAVED ME over $350.00 from the price the dealer was quoting me. These videos are excellent and I had no trouble at all with the installation by carefully following the advice given on your online videos. Re: feedback on the green wire from driver's side taillight to passenger side taillight... I ran it first and reinstalled the passenger taillight back in place BEFORE I adhered the circuit module inside the driver's side taillight compartment to ensure that I had enough slack on the green wire (other reviews noted that they had to splice the green wire to make it long enough). Everything else I did exactly by your install videos and I'm on my way! Thanks for the huge savings $$$ Cha-Ching!!!41118

the green wire in this kit is to short (about 10 inches) had to splice the wire in order to plug in the passenger side tail lights. other than that it was an easy install. But add some more green wire length. just lucky I had some of the same size wire in my garage to complete the job. thanks harold dudley38528

Design of the harness made it very simple to place in my vehicle. I am assuming that the need for a separate fused connection to the battery has provided the trailer circuit with a separate supply so that if a fault occurs, there will be no loading of the vehicle circuits. (Instructions do not discuss this situation.) Installation instructions were adequate, but video available on the web made it fool proof. Green wire from left to right assembly was a bit too short, but easily corrected with a 10" splice. Running the power wire up thru the space in the engine compartment required a bit of planning to miss any moving steering or drive components, but tiewraps made clearances proper. I haven't checked out the trailer lights yet, but the connection has not interfered with my vehicle wiring. If the trailer lights work I will consider this an outstanding product well worth the cost.26924

Instructions are very clear. Everything is exactly the right length; for my Grand Caravan there is about 12 inches of lead from the bumper to the trailer hook up. Perfect! I chose to run the black power lead inside the car, up the driver's side, instead of underneath as shown in the instructions. I ran the wire through new holes I poked in the taillight wire gromet and then through the hood latch gromet, upper left side in front of driver's feet. Easy to install and works great!!! This is the third Grand Caravan on which I have installed a trailer hitch and wiring harness (02, 05 and 12). The 02 and 05 hitches were purchased from Chrysler and the 12 from you folks. This is the first time I had to run a wire from the tail light to the battery. I watched the video and I knew what I was getting into, but I never thought it would be so much trouble to install that wire. I don't know how they do it, but all I had to do was plug in the "T" connectors. Your price really attracted me, but in retrospect, I think I would rather have paid a little more for the harness. The hitch went right on. Great price.74910
