Video of Twist-in, 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector for Chevy and GMC Vehicles - Vehicle End

Today were going to review part number PK11916. This is the twist-in seven pole RV style trailer connector for Chevy and GMC vehicles. This socket is designed to fit into a pre-existing cutout on your GM truck models 2007 and newer. This twist-in connector also serves as a replacement for OEM sockets on GM trucks 99 and newer that came with the factory tow packages. Basically, the way this would insert is on your truck on the bumper usually, there is a cap thats in the hole that this would go into. If you just take that cap, twist it and pull it out, then the hole would be exposed.
You would take this and these tabs right here, you would just line it up, put it in, twist it into position. That would lock this onto your rear bumper. This socket is made of a high-impact nylon construction which will resist corrosion, has a spring loaded lid as you can see here with a stainless steel pin, and has a runner gasket on the inside. That lid will help prevent intrusion of moisture when closed. If you do get any moisture on the inside, at the very bottom here, there is a drain slot which is angle designed for drainage.
So, basically, when this is installed on the bumper, this will actually angle towards the cap here which if any moisture does get inside it will go down that drain slot and drain out. This part does include the wiring diagram for quick installation, does have the copper-plated terminal pins you can see here which will give you high conductivity and low resistance, and at the very back you might be able to see its sealed with a silicone at the back of the socket and this will prevent moisture from contacting your mating connector. So, basically, when you install this you remove that cap off your bumper, put this in, lock it into place, take your harness that is on your truck and plug it into the back here. You have a working seven way on your truck. The application again is all Chevrolet and GMC trucks 2007 and newer and it will serve as an exact replacement for 99 to current Chevy and GMC trucks with the factory tow packages.
The current rating on this is 30 amps. The volt rating is 12 volts and it does come with a one year limited warranty. And, that should do it for review on part number PK11916. .
Average Customer Rating: 4.9 out of 5 stars (407 Customer Reviews)This socket is designed to fit into a pre-existing cutout on 2007-2013 GM 1500 trucks and 2007-2014 GM 2500/3500 trucks. Twist-in connector also serves as a replacement for OEM sockets on GM trucks 1999-newer that came with factory tow packages.

This little marvel was a piece o' cake to install. Less than 10 minutes from taking it out of the box to installing in the bumper of my Chevy and wiping my hands on my pants. If my nosy and talkative neighbor wouldn't have been staring over my shoulder, it would have been installed in under 5 minutes. 127695
Looks to be good quality. Easy to install. Remove the old connector by depressing the keeper, turning it counter clock wise about a quarter turn, slide it out, depress the keeper on the wiring harness connector and unpluging the unit. Install the new connector by pluging in the wiring harness connector, sliding the unit through the bumper hole and turning it about a quarter turn clock wise to lock it in place. It took less time than writing this. 89755

Looks like OEM and took all of a minute or two to install. The video was very helpful to show how to remove plate on back of rear bumper. The wiring harness on my 2012 Silverado wasn place so it was only a matter of removing plate and plugging in. A seven point adapter then plugs into this and the trailer plug just pushes onto the adapter. I tried both a seven point adapter that I kept from my 2005 Silverado and also a seven point adapter that my brother has on a 2011 Honda Pilot and they are all universal and worked just fine.. Very user friendly. The tow hitch took about 45 minutes to also install with no help (though a second person could make it a 30 minute ordeal tops). Very pleased and the shipping was ahead of original date with just normal ground freight.. 47314

Perfect replacement for my 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 with Tow Package. Broke mine this winter and needed a quick replacement. 120006
REPLACED OEM PART PERFECTLY. TWISTED OUT THE OLD ONE AND REPLACED IT WITH THE NEW ONE, PLUGGED IN THE HARNESS AND WAS GOOD TO GO. 214066

Great product went right on no problem , very satisfied . 92123
Perfect fit for my 2008 Silverado. Identical to the adapter used in my wife's 2007 Suburban, except hers says "GM" and mine says "Pollack." This is all assuming it works, I haven't hooked a trailer up to it yet. 11806
super fast shipping and great prices 126712

After spending a little time online figuring out how this connector attaches to the factory hitch (push the tab, twist about 1/4 turn, pull out far enough to reach wiring harness connector), I ordered one from etrailer. When I got it, it took me all of 5 minutes to remove the broken connector and install the new one. Upon examining the OEM connector, which says "GM" on the lid's outside, it says "Pollak" on the inside, so the OEM part was built by this aftermarket company. No wonder it fit so well! BTW, the original broke because of cockpit error, not because of manufacturing defect. 128958
Installed easily. Same as OEM 132825

Looks factory Fit like a glove 223810
used this plug to replace the factory "filler". this item is well built, excellent spring, just what i needed to keep the 7 way option (used with a four way trailer harness). breeze to install and fits snugger than the factory one (2008 silverado). would recommend and first time ordering with etrailer...will do business again, great products to fit any situation, outstanding service and prices. videos are great too. look no further than this company. shipping was fast. A++++ all the way around. good job guys. 75414

piece of cake without the installaton video to show how easy this is to install, I might have relegated the entire hitch install to a shop, just to avoid having to cut into the wiring harness and making a big mess of things. In 20 seconds I was able to utilize the factory wiring harness and leave a profesional looking result when I was done. My 09 Chevy Silvarado came equiped with a 7 wire trailering harness, in case I want to tow something, like a camper with a electric refrigerator onboard, I wil be all set to go. 4786

The manufacturer (Pollak) directed me to etrailer where I easily located the correct trailer connector. Apparently my 2004 Nissan Titan was retrofitted at the dealer with this style connector. I bought the vehicle new. The dealer's parts department had no information for this part or the hitch. Your website was easy to navigate and the pictures simplified the process. Replacing the broken original was a five minute job. The new connector fit perfectly. I wish all repairs were as easy. 65118

Plug, twist, done. That easy. My 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 already had the wires, so I just plugged the wires to the back of this unit, twisted it into the hole next to my license plate on my rear bumper, and was done. Unit looks good and all connectios work as they should. Etrailer shipped the unit quick, packed it securely. They offer tutorials and guides for most of their items. I feel safe when I order from Etrailer, knowing that the item will arrive as described. 152845

I have a 2008 GMC 2500HD and this replacement plug fit perfect. The cover was broken on my factory plug, and I simply turned it until it popped out of the bumper. I then unpluged the wiring harness from the back and plugged it in to the replacement plug. I then twisted the new one into place and was done. I would put a little grease on it or the bumper next time becaus it went in very tight. All in all it takes 5 min. or less to install. Great aftermarket product 108338

The product has been made from a harder, phenolic plastic (not like the OEM part which is a more flexible plastic) which restricts its flexibility during assembly to an older vehicle with some surface rusting. I needed to file the interface surfaces to increase the slot gap on the part to be more compatible with the vehicle bumper material thickness. On a new vehicle, I would assume that there would be less of an issue. 150371

Old electric plug in on my 2007 Chevy 2500 was worn out. Cord from RV would not stay plugged in. Went on line on E-Trailer, ordered a new part for GM vehicles, when it arrived, it took me about five minutes or lees to remove the plug all I needed was a small regular blade screwdriver. New part woks fine. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I have ordered from E-Trailer. I have always been satisfied. Thank you Ken Hill 231504
Very easy...Installed in about 10 seconds. Product did not completely cover the holes through the bumper that existed from the factory harness insert. So you can see light a little bit of light around the product. 14933
These folks have a really good on-line catalog. Based on the picture and the description, I made my choice. The price was half of anyone else's. They were lightening fast shipping the item. When it got to my home, It was EXACTLY what I needed and fit perfectly. The item was packed very well and survived the trip. I'll be buying more from these people in the future. Thanks, guys and gals at eTrailer. 218324

Perfect fit for a 2010 Silverado 2500HD. Time saving tip: It's not necessary to disconnect the molex plug from the old connector before twisting it out like it shows on the video. Just twist out the old one and the cable bundle will come through the hole in the bumper. From there you can disconnect the plug and plug in the new connector. It will save you two trips under the truck! 194832

Works perfect just like GM specs....fast shipping 132356
The twist-in,7-pole,RV-style trailer connector was perfect for my 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. It works good, looks good and fit like a glove. etrailer was great, but they should stop using UPS Mail Innovations. It took them ten days to get the package to the USPS office. USPS got my package to me in one day. To long to wait. Should only take 5 to 7 days. USPS is better. 160452
I was told by a dealer he would charge me $80 to wire in my tow hitch. I watched a video on the installation that was just over a minute long, that was about how long it took me. As a small business owner I am all for people making a living, but that was just a total rip off. Thanks etrailer for the great price, fast shipping, and great service! 176116

Part arrived on time and is exactly as described. I have a 2009 Silverado WT that did not have the factory connector installed , but was factory wired to the blank in the rear bumper. The PK11916 connector plugged into the factory harness and snapped into the factory hole in the bumper with no problems. Very easy to install! 214750

As simple as it gets. Twist the OE blank cover out, plug this into the OE harness, twist this in and presto.....you have lights! Worked flawless on my 2013 Silverado WT. E-trailer is a great company to deal with as always, and will continue to get my business. Oh, and I had the delivery in only 2 days after my order! 55067
Looks and works exactly like the OEM part I priced at my local GMC dealer except they wanted close to $75 for their precious part. I really liked the follow up from the start of the order through the final delivery. I also appreciate the extra information provided here to help me install the part. Thanks....... 91228

Ordered this product for my 2009 Chev Silverado as I wanted a connection for my trailer plug. This item was easy to install and works perfectly. Took about one minute to remove the old part and install the new one, I will be sharing my good service by Etrailer and the performance of the product with others. 18414

After e-mailing for information on the correct part for my truck (2005 GM 2500HD with towing option) you folks confirmed that this was the part required and that it would mate with the factory bracket and electric connector. Installation was straight forward and took about 15 minutes. Thanks 15460
by: Enrique D.03/21/2016
Was very easy to install. Excellent product. I have a 2008 GMC Sierra. There are 2 red wires in engine compartment one under master cylinder and one next to fuse box and left fender. The one under master cylinder provides constant 12v to trailer and the other one is for the brake controler. 241139

I received the hitch 2 days after I ordered it. I installed it in 30 minutes and that includes the 7-Pole, Trailer connector. I didn't have to remove the spare tire, there was plenty of room. I thought the installation videos were very helpful. I will order from etrailer.com in the future. 8145
I received my products 3 days after I ordered them. The second I received them, I installed them. Very simple instructions. The receiver fits my vehicle well. It is very low profile. I haven't pulled anything just yet but that will happen soon. Thank you etrailer for the great service! 6121

Factory Look, Easy to Install Excellent product! I found out from the Etrailer website that my 2008 Silverado was already wired, all I need was this product and a 7 round-4 flat adapter, local dealers wanted to wire my truck for $50-$75 when it wasn't needed! Thanks Etrailer. 3092

7 pole twist in connector I am pleased to say that my order was promptly shipped and right away I installed it on my truck. It plugged right in and fit the orginal bracket perfectly. I thought though that it could be of a heaver composit material, will see as soon as I tow. 4481

Product fit my 2013 Silverado as advertised. The factory wiring harness was in place behind the bumper. All I had to do was remove the blank and plug it into the back of the connector twist in place and it was ready to go. Total installation time was 5 minutes. 87482

Great fit on my 2007 Tahoe LTZ. The original broke when I backed the trailer in to it. It really does just twist in. I did need to pull out the right side of the hole in the bumper As it was pushed in slightly when I hit the trailer. Other than that, very easy. 15438
