Alright, today on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, were going to install part number 51-97-410. First thing to do is find a location in the bed to drill out for a triple connector. Were going to drill out in this location right here (drilling). Alright now, well take a wire, run it through the hole and out through the bottom of the truck (drilling). Next well disconnect the natural connector 4-7 pole that's inside the bumper. There's a little locking tab, that removes, the gray one that's kind of hidden so you're going to take some time taking it apart.
Once we have it apart, we'll take our wire harness. Its like a tee connector so we'll plug in back into the one side, then install a lock, then install a connector on the other side. All the connections are made now we go and take the wires and zip tight, safe and out of the way. With that, that will finish for our install part number 51-97-410 from Bargemen on our 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. .

The wiring harness arrived within one week of ordering. Drilling the required 2" hole was a simple matter of choosing the location and drilling the hole. I had to enlarge the upper part of the hole to allow for the wires and plug to pass through, as the 2" diameter wasn't quite enough to accommodate the second plug and the wire together. This enlargement was done with a file. No problem. The four screws are self tapping, so there's really no need to drill pilot holes unless you just want to make the screws that much easier to put in. A battery powered drill motor was all I needed to drive the screws. The finished installation is shown in the photos. This turned out to be a nice project, and is part of getting ready for the 5th wheel hitch and trailer. Excellent product. Well made. Very nice construction. Super easy to install. Literally a "plug and play" affair. The wiring harness and plug-in greatly exceeded my expectations. I'm glad I made this purchase from etrailer.com.75631

Installed on my 2013 2500HD with minimal effort. The cable quality is excellent and far exceeds to the quality of the cable on my older truck. On the old truck, the RV dealer spliced the wires using a universal cable. The connectors on this cable plug right in making for a clean quick install after drilling the bed. Great product. Took about 30 minutes to install. Drill the hole with a 2" hole saw, slide the harness thru, make your connections, button up the excess wire harness and you're all done. No fuss no muss !56066

This harness was very easy to install. The only concern is the wires not encapsulated all the way. I wrapped the remaining wire in plastic loom. Pig tail ends snapped right in to factory harness.55186

I have a 2000 dodge. The plugs weren't right for my dodge even though the description says it's for a dodge. Other than that it was nice. A little pricy I thought. 37285
Andy, this 7-way is for newer Dodge trucks with the round connectors. For your 2000 with square connections, you need part 51-97-411. http:/www.etrailer.com/p-51-97-411.html

Great product ,this wiring harness was even easier to install than the instructions called for. I removed the liner keeper on the rear stake pocket, pulled the liner out from the wall allowing access between it and the truck bed, layed the wire into the space between the liner and bed, running it to the rear. Excess wire is curled up in front of the wheel well after hooking into existing truck wire harness. The hard part was pulling the tail gate loose, supporting it (back up camera wire precludes tail gate removal unless disconnected). Plug end of harness fits between bed and bumper nicely (plenty of room to slip it into place). Disconnected existing plugs and inserted new harness into open connectors. I used a metal bracket (availabe at walmart or auto stores) to secure the 7 way connector end to the bed lip close to my tool box. This permitted the wire to fall behind the bedliner. Drilled one hole to secure bracket, then cut liner for wire. pushed liner back into place reinstalled liner keeper (plastic screw in expandable plastic anchor). As an after thought, to protect the exposed wires to the connectors, I installed a plastic wire sheath over these, and secured the ends with electrical tape, then used wire ties to complete the installation. Extremely fast ship. Thank You PS Dodge does not have a source for these harnesses. I told them about you as a source. It would have benn atleast another month or longer to get this harness. Dodge dealer had this on back order for me for over a month as it was.35978

Great product, excellent quality. Just remember this product is for a long bed truck and should be installed IN FRONT of the wheel well and use the seven food version for a short bed. My installation look about an hour and looks and works great, but I'll always know the extra wire I cleverly hid is there!30287

This was a perfect install. I had the hole drilled and the cable hooked up in 15 minutes. The 90* curve and the spacer are a must. I highly recommend this part to anyone that needs an in bed 7 pin hookup.27504
