Specs:
Designed for large vehicles, Rightline's Sport 3 cargo carrier holds your load securely on the roof of your SUV, minivan or crossover. This premium, aerodynamic cargo bag is perfect for any camping trip, hunting expedition or journey to grandma's house.

The roof-mounted cargo bag is made of Hydrotuff material - 600-denier, woven polyester backed with a PVC inner layer that keeps out moisture. The material is treated with WeatherGuard waterproofing and blocks 98 percent of UV rays to help prevent fading.
The PVC material is also strengthened with a nylon grid for added durability. This waterproof fabric stays flexible in hot or cold temperatures so it can be folded compactly for storage.

The Rightline Sport 3 carrier has double-sealed seams to protect your cargo from the elements. The seams are sewn to reinforce the connections and then fused together to create a watertight seal that blocks rain and snow.

An added feature for this top-of-the-line bag is the specially designed ZipRight zipper. On most cargo bags, the zipper is located on the bag, under a protective flap. But this creates a crease where wind likes to drive rain and snow.

The corrosion-resistant, urethane-coated ZipRight zipper is built into the underside of the flap itself, rather than on the bag. That means the zipper is more sheltered from the wet wind than ordinary under-the-flap zippers. For added assurance that your gear will stay dry, Velcro closures seal the flap closed.

The zipper also runs three-quarters of the way around the roof bag, so you can easily load up the bag or access your gear. Your stuff won't be hidden in dark corners inside the cargo carrier.
The Rightline Sport 3 cargo bag can be used with either a roof rack or cargo basket or on a bare roof.

Just attach the bag to your side rails, crossbars or cargo basket using the four included straps. The attachment straps thread through D-rings on the bag for added security.

Or if you have a bare roof, you can run the included straps inside your vehicle, along the headliner, and then outside over the cargo carrier. Your car doors will close easily over the straps.
If you want to avoid running straps inside your vehicle, use a Rightline car clip set (RL100600 - sold separately). This kit includes clips that attach to the bag straps and then hook over the ledges or rain gutters at the tops of your doors. A roof protection pad (RL100650 - sold separately) is available to keep the bag from sliding around and to protect the top of your vehicle from scratches.
To lock up the bag, run a Rightline locking cable (RL100640 - sold separately) through the cutouts in the zipper pulls. Then, if you want to lock the carrier to your roof, run the cable around your roof-rack rails.

A stuff sack with a drawstring closure is included so you can store the bag when it's not in use.

Today were going to review part number RL100S30. This is Rightline Sport 3 Rooftop Cargo Bed. A few things to know about this bag, it is intended to be an extra-large cargo bag that holds up to 18 cubic feet of gear on the roof of your vehicle. Its constructed from a waterproof material with a PVC enter layer thats reinforced with nylon grid to give it durability and strength. This also has built in UV inhibitors to help protect it from the sunlight as well, graded up to UPF 50. It is designed to be water tight and has double sealed seams that are sewn in for strength and then welded to block out moisture.
The zipper also has its own built in protective layer on top and the zipper is built on the flap rather than on the bag, so when you zip it up and then when you fasten the hook and loop fasteners on the side, the fabric is pulled over 180 degrees, so theres no way that water can get in through the zipper and over the fold. Now this bag opens up three quarters of the way around. The front of the bag does not have a zipper. It also comes with its own tie down straps and its own stuff sack. Well go ahead and put it on the roof of our vehicle, well even it out on the center of the roof and then well open up the bag. Then well go ahead and load up our cargo.
Well have a couple of other bags to put in and a couple of pieces of luggage. Well go ahead and arrange it the way we need to and then well go ahead and pull the cover back over the bag and then well zip everything together. Now well go ahead and start installing our straps. Well start with the straps going from front to rear. First off, well actually separate them from the buckle, so well have two pieces. Both halves had a loop on the end and well use that loop to secure it to the crossbars thats on the roof rack.
Well take one end of the strap, run it underneath the crossbar and then take the other end and run it through the loop and pull it tight. Well do the same thing with the other half of the strap and then well go ahead and connect them together running them through the buckle. Here we have our drivers side done now lets go over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. Now were going to leave our straps loose for now until we have all of our straps installed. Now well install the strap thatll go left to right.
Well repeat the same process, well go through the roof rack and then connect our straps together. Now with this roof rack, it allows us to only really use three straps. Now the instructions state you can use just two straps to hold your cargo bag down and in this case were going to use three. Its always a good idea to use as many as possible. Once we have all the straps installed well go ahead and tighten them down for good. Now theres a smaller buckle on the strap that we can use to shorten up the strap a little bit and then well tighten it down for good with the big buckle and were good to go. A couple of other things to know about this bag, you can use it with vehicles without a roof rack as well. You can actually take those straps and run them through the inside of the vehicle. Youd open up your car doors, run your straps all the way through underneath and then go ahead and shut your doors on the straps. With that, thatll finish it for our review of part number RL100S30 from Rightline the Sport 3 XL Rooftop Caro Bag. .

Trailer was a great retailer, that is where the positive stops. The Right line cargo system was horrible, the instructions were vague at best. When I got home from my trip, the wind had torn the entire top of the carrier apart. I was supprised I didn't loose any cargo. There was no way that if it would of rained that anything would of been dry. Do not waste your money on this product...cause. it would truly be a waste!77464

We purchased this product for a family vacation from Michigan to Arkansas. Initially it seemed to be perfect for what we needed. The vehicle used did not have cross bars so we had to bring the straps through the car. We used the product exactly as instructed and put nothing but a 3 suitcases and 2 dufflebags into it. On our way home, we had a rainstorm while at one of our short stops. Because the straps pressed against the seals around the door, our vehicle seats, inside roof and floor were soaked. We proceeded to our overnight location. While unloading, we noticed that our items that were in the product were soaking wet, and had to find a laundromat to wash and dry our clothing. When we removed it from the rooftop, we found that due to the straps rubbing from the wind force, the product had tears in it. At this point, we had to figure out how to fit all of our items into the vehicle which made for a very uncomfortable ride for the remaining several hundred miles home. I would not recommend this product for anybody!47878
Sorry about the trouble you had and I am glad to see we were able to get it warrantied for you. For future reference, the bag design has been updated with reinforced strap anchor points.
