Tekonsha Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller with Nissan Adapter - Nissan Titan, 2011

Tekonsha Prodigy Electric Trailer Brake Controller with Nissan Adapter

Tekonsha introduces Prodigy, one of the most advanced and intelligent approaches to trailer brake controls. Prodigy, requiring no manual leveling, is a technological breakthrough among inertia-activated brake controls. Equipped with a self-adjusting sensing device similar to the one used in guided-missile technology to allow for easy, flexible installation - from nearly horizontal to nearly vertical - the Tekonsha Prodigy constantly adjusts itself to the position of the tow Nissan Titan.

Features:
  • Applies power to the trailer brakes in proportion to Nissan Titan's deceleration.
  • No level adjustment necessary - it adjusts itself to varying terrain as you drive.
  • Works proportionally in reverse - great for backing into tough spots.
  • Digital display depicts voltage delivery to trailer during braking.
  • Continual diagnostics check for proper connection, shorted magnet condition and much more.
  • "Boost" feature gives users the ability to apply more initial trailer braking power when towing heavier trailers.
  • Power-saving mode reduces drain on battery when Nissan Titan is not in use.
  • Unique pocket mount allows for flexible mounting options.
  • Quick and easy disconnect feature allows user to remove and store the control when not in use.
    • Vehicle specific wiring adapter is included to make installation simple
  • Rotary manual brake adjustment lever
  • Limited lifetime warranty
Specs:
  • Dimensions: 3-1/8" Wide x 5-1/8" Long x 1-3/16" High
  • Made for up to 4-axle trailer brake systems (2 to 8 Brakes)
  • Can be mounted between 0 degrees (level) and 70 degrees
  • Boost levels increase power up 0%, 13% and 25%
  • Power saving sleep mode draws 3.6 milliamp
  • Version 2.6
Installation:

The Nissan Titan specific adapter has one end that plugs into the back of the brake controller while the other end plugs into the port located under the dash.
Note: If your Nissan Titan has a factory installed hitch and 7-way connector, then all of the wires for the brake controller have already been run. If not, additional parts will be required to complete the installation of the brake controller.

  • 2010 Nissan Xterra Brake Controller Wiring Harness Avalibility and Installation
  • The information we have at this time is that the 2010 Nissan Xterra does not have a aftermarket brake controller connector available for a connection of a brake control wiring harness if the factory 7-way connector wiring package is not installed on the vehicle. If your vehicle has the factory 7-Way wiring then the part you referenced is correct and the connector is located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. • Brake Controller for 2009 Nissan Armada with Factory 7-Way
  • Since you had all the wiring and circuit breakers needed for brake controller installation on your 2009 Nissan Armada installed by the dealer, the only thing you need to do is plug in the brake controller. It comes with what you will need to mount it (bracket and screws). All that is left is to plug the adapter, included with the Tekonsha Prodigy Proportional Brake Controller with Nissan Adapter, ITEM # 90185-3050P, into the brake controller and vehicle. • How to Install Tekonsha Brake Controller on 2006 Nissan Frontier with Factory Tow Package
  • The harness will be located underneath and left of the steering column, taped to another harness near the emergency brake pedal. I am sending you a link to installation instructions that explain where to find the harness and a picture of the location. On the Tekonsha Brake Controller with Wiring, # 90185-3050P, it comes with the Nissan plug wire you are asking about so you would not have to buy that separately. Since your 2006 Nissan Frontier has the factory towing package all you would nee

  • Brake Controller Installation on a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder LE
  • If your Nissan Pathfinder LE does not have a factory 7-Way connector on at the rear of the vehicle then your vehicle was not equipped with the factory tow package. I do not have a picture of the Pathfinder with a factory connector available to send you. To install a brake controller and 7-Way RV plug on your Pathfinder you will need a brake controller like the Prodigy, item # 90185, that your referred to, a 4-Way connector item # 118263, and a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit, item

  • Brake Switch Wire Location and Color for a 2004 Nissan Frontier
  • I did a little research online and found that the brake switch wire that you are looking for will be a brown wire with a thin red tracer on the plug at the brake pedal switch. There will also be a brown wire with a thick red tracer, but that is not the correct wire to use. Usually the easiest way to find out which wire to use is to check all the wires on the brake pedal switch for voltage with a circuit tester like part # 3808. You should see power on the wire when the brake pedal is applied

  • Parts Needed To Install Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller # 90185 on 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE
  • Since your 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE did not come with a factory 7-way connector, you will not utilize the Tekonsha Wire Adapter, part # 3050-P. You would need to order the Tekonsha Prodigy Brake Controller, part # 90185, and the Brake Controller 7 and 4 Way Installation Kit, part # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 includes all the wiring and connectors needed for installation of the brake controller. • Parts Needed to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller on a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder
  • Everything that I see seems to indicate that the 2008 Nissan Pathfinder came with a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector. So it could be that yours was converted to a 4-Way at some point and all you will need to do is get the factory 7-Way re-installed by the dealer and then add the brake controller and wiring harness. For a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885 which is the newer version of the popular Prodigy that you have referenced. It is our most popular controller
