  • How to Replace an Integrated Brake Controller on a 2011 Ford F-550 with a Tekonsha P2 or P3
  • I spoke with my contact at Tekonsha and he informed me that your 2011 Ford F-550 with an integrated brake controller should work with electric over hydraulic brakes. With that being said, if you still want to go to a Tekonsha P2 or P3 brake controller all you would need to do is unplug the factory brake controller and plug in the included harness into the same port. Next you will need to go to a Ford dealership and have them reprogram your PCM so that you will not be reading an error code.

  • How to Replace an Integrated Brake Controller on a 2009 Ford F-450 P/U with a Tekonsha P3
  • The way that you have described the installation of an aftermarket controller is correct. On a 2009 Ford F-450 Super Duty you will need to unplug the factory controller and insert harness # 3034-P and the new brake controller in its place. This will set off a fault code on the dash. You can just leave this alert if it does not bother you but to remove it you will have to take the truck to a Ford dealer. I have included a link to an FAQ article that explains what the Ford dealer will need to

  • Is Computer Reprogrammed to Use P3 Brake Controller on 2011 Ford F-350 Instead of Factory Controller
  • We have an FAQ article on this subject which I have linked for you. You do not have to have the factory trailer brake control turned off by a Ford dealer if you do not mind seeing the fault code. But if you ever do get annoyed by it then the dealer would have to turn it off. If you were to remove the P3, # 90195 from the truck then the dealer would have to turn the factory controller back on for it to work. In both cases, the computer is not being reprogrammed. They are just telling it to tu

  • Trailer Pulls to the Left When Braking in a 2013 Ford F-350 with Integrated Brake Controller
  • The truck pulling to the left when braking indicates to me that it is braking harder on the left side when you apply the brakes. This could indicate that more voltage, possibly due to a short circuit is getting to that side. It could also mean that the brakes on the trailer are adjusted out more on the left side. And it also could mean that during a braking event, as the trailer momentum pushes forward, it is pushing more to one side than the other causing the truck to pull. You will want to
