The P3 controller is designed for use with electric and/or electric over hydraulic trailer braking systems. A simple switch on the unit allows the user to toggle back and forth between the two systems. The Tekonsha P3's LCD display features a distinctive look with multiple color and contrast options and includes a highly advanced, easy-to-understand roadside diagnostics display. The P3 advanced diagnostics not only notify you of potential problems, it can tell you where to begin trouble shooting.
The vehicle specific adapter has one end that plugs into the back of the brake controller while the other end plugs into the port located under the dash.
Note: If your vehicle has a factory installed hitch and 7-way connector, then all of the wires for the brake controller have already been run. If not, additional parts will be required to complete the installation of the brake controller.

I got the Tekonsha P3 for my 2006 Ford Superduty F350. The last brake controller I installed was for my old 95 Suburban. It took me 3 hours. This installation started out with a problem. I couldn't find my vehicle’s electric brake control harness connector. I called the help line. They suggested the alternate instructions which had an exact picture of the connector location. I connected the Tekonsha P3 with the included adapter, fastened the mount to the lower dashboard and adjusted the controller.. Total time 25 minutes including the phone call. I didn't have to level it, and setting the power level for my dump trailer was quick and simple. It works great; I'm glad I bought it. 14022
