Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches
The good: I like the way the bikes are held in and the ability to add the upright adapters to the bike frame holders. The straps are quality too. For a jeep with a spare tire, this is the perfect length to clear it. This rack is 5 stars from the bike holders to the base of it. The bad: the 2"receiver adapter and bolt are insufficient. I wish they made this in a solid 2" hitch. The entire setup is held into the receiver by a very short bolt. It only goes about half way into the receiver tube. So your hitch is only "secured" on one side. A hitch pin or bolt should go through the receiver tube completely imo so it can be secured on the other end with a retaining clip or nut. Because this only goes in the one side, the entire weight of the rack plus bikes are held tight to one side of the receiver by the undersized bolt and washer. A few bumps down the road and that bolt loosens. Now instead of distibuting the weight of the rack and bikes on the receiver and post, it's completely up to the bolt to keep you from losing the rack. The bolt threads get damaged too. I took this down a dirt road and nearly lost everything. I had to buy my own bolt with hd fender washers and lock washers to correct this. Thule should've provided this from the start. The current short bolt design where only one side of the receiver secures the rack is unacceptable. This rack is 1 star at best for the connection to the receiver.
Hitch pin broke before I got it. Looks like a poor design for the locking pin, they might want to consider a different design. I got a 3/8 shear pin from Home Depot to replace and it works great. Bike rack is great!

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
First-time rack buyer / owner / installer. The rack arrived in a timely fashion, maybe a day or 2 ahead of schedule. It was well packaged. I’m LOVING this bike rack. It was easy to put together and to mount on my new Honda Passport. Thus far, no squeaks in my 2” receiver. Hardest part of initial set-up is figuring out the best way to position two bikes. Trial & error and some patience. The directions weren’t clear as to where the 2 left-over screws went. I found the answer in another review and have posted a pic in case others have the same problem (photo with pen pointing at screw). These screws go in the underneath side of both of the folding arms. They appear to keep the wheel wells from sliding off in case in you drive with an empty, un-folded rack, and forgot to tighten down the wheel wells. The folding arm push / pull pins can be difficult at times. I coated the tips with some lube. That and a little jiggling seems to solve that issue. I guess it’s better for the pins to be snug vs popping right out. I added a small Master lock to the hitch pin (in lieu of the provided cotter pin) as a theft deterrent. I read that a 3/16 shackle lock will fit into the bike clamp down arms to also act as a deterrent. I had an old 3/16 lock that did snugly fit and appeared to be locked. HOWEVER, I yanked on the lock and it came open as there isn’t quite enough clearance for the shackle to lock. I discovered that longer 3/16 shackle locks are hard to find. Have attached a photo of the lock that actually fits and works (Ace Hardware). One lock on the upper clamp down arm will secure both arms as the lower arm can’t be removed without removing the upper arm. The clamp down arms appear to be coated to prevent damage to your bike. I’ve tried a simple rag and ultimately settled on pool noodle pieces as a precautionary measure. I CAN NOT open my tailgate (regardless of whether or not the rack is fold up and in the bike carry position). If that’s a concern for you, then spring for the more costly titling version. My back-up camera still functions.
The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike carrier arrived very quickly from etrailer and in good shape, the actual carrier box is inside another shipper box, which I'm sure helped with its condition. Assembly was relatively quick and painless, even though the instructions could be a little more thorough. Installing the carrier on the back of our Jeep Patriot also was quick, it helps to have an extra ratchet & 3/4" socket laying around for just this purpose. Installing the bikes takes a little patience and trial and error the first time you try and put them on the carrier. It's easy enough to adjust the wheel holders to fit the wheelbase of your bikes, but for us at least, the challenge was trying to swing the vertical support bar up into position after putting on the first bike (closest to the Jeep). We couldn't angle the bike enough toward the Jeep to have the bar clear the bike. We learned that the easiest way to secure the first bike was to remove the ratcheting frame hooks altogether, put the bike in the carrier, swing up the vertical support bar, put in the pin, and then slide one of the frame hooks down on the bar. The outside bike is much easier because you can set the bike in the carrier at whatever angle you need, not being limited by the back of the vehicle. One thing we did to protect the bike frames was to use some foam pipe insulation as cushion between the frame hook and the frame (see pictures). Once you get a system for installing the bikes, it is very quick to load/unload them. The rack seems to be well made and doesn't wiggle excessively when traveling. All in all a good product for a good price, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a platform bike carrier.

Kuat Beta Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Trailer Hitches - Tilting
I did a lot of research and decided this was the rack for me. I was totally correct. First, it has all the most important features but only weighs about 14 lbs. I was concerned as a senior lady with arthritis issues. I can use it well and it performed perfectly with an adapter bar for my Electra Townie. I have had compliments from several seasoned riders and a bike shop owner here at the beach who said it was great quality and I got a great price. Also purchased a locking trailer hitch pin with bike cable from etrailer. All over satisfaction with products and etrailer who provided enough videos to help me.
This product is exactly what I wanted. The 2" post fits in the reciever perfectly, and no wiggle. I did tighten the mounting screw, but didn't have to change the hardware I have already (locks). There are two more screws to reduce the wiggles at each pivot point, and there was little to begin with. I tend to test way beyond the breaking point, and did some aggressive driving with every bump across town to the first ride. All good and I won't worry while driving with the bike attached moving forward. Only thing I wish it had was a locking mechanism, but I used a wire cable and lock. The other comparable ones with a lock were 2X the price. I can use the additional lock if I have other plans than just a trail. Service has been outstanding and I will look for any future purchases of this kind to be through etrailer.

Rhino-Rack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
I purchased this bike rack a year ago and I use it A LOT. I had to buy and install a stabilizer because without it, the unit would sway back and forth even without a bike on it (very noisy). This makes removal more cumbersome but since I keep the hitch on year round it doesn't matter to me. The tilting function is fabulous allowing easy use of my RAV4 hatchback. I can even tilt it down with a bike on it. I got the 2 bike hitch. Plenty of room for two bikes to fit without rubbing. Lastly, the hitch has a sizable through-hole on the bottom to thread a good sized cable so I can lock my bike up. Sturdy. I highly recommend.
The unit ‘s simplicity is a real plus. It takes less than 3 minutes to put the rack on the vehicle. It is well built and very durable and has a nice feature that allows you to open the rear hatch for SUV owners without removing the rack.

RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
At age 75, I have purchased many bike racks over the years…..this one has no equal in loading and unloading…
This rack is really, good. The only thing i add to make it better is small strap that holds the front wheel to the front wheel bracket. I never had a problem with it, but i like to make sure it is secure. It is a solid bike rack and worth every penny. I would buy this over the Kuat version any day.

Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Matte Black
I've taken this rack all over New England on the front of my Dodge Ram 3500 pick up truck with a truck camper. I had no idea it was possible to love a bike rack so much. After one drive I didn't ever worry about it again. So nice that it locks up when I am camping or taking a quick stop for food on the road. So glad I bought it from etrailer. They totally help me pick the perfect rack for my challenging set up.
Still very new, but what an awesome bike rack! Assembly was a snap and the rack is rock-solid when you secure it to the hitch receiver. etrailer was amazing too - excellent communication, price and fast, free delivery. Overall I am extremely happy with the rack and service!

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
My Kuat NV 2. Bike Rack is the best bike rack I have ever owned. It is excellent for electric bikes. Very easy to load bikes and holds bikes very securely.
This bike rack is built extremely good. It is solid and the bikes are easy to put on and off the rack. The reason for the 3 stars are the following. I purchased the 4 bike rack together. It comes in two seperate boxes one for the main unit and the other for the additonal two bike add on. However, even purchasing this as one unit the two units are keyed different. If I have 4 bikes on the rack and lock the bikes I have to have two different keys to unlock the bikes. Why? The main unit came with some scratches on it. However, I know that putting bikes on and off the unit will get scratched. It is disappointing to see the amount of money this bike rack cost to come already scratched. The other major issue with having the four bike rack is the ability to have all 4 bikes on the rack and tilt the rack down to get into the hatch of the vehilce. The manufacture could provide an extention to the lever so that when the rack is setup for 4 bikes it can be tilted without the assistance of another person. Only comes with two child bike adaptors.

Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
Works well for transporting two 29" wheeled mountain bikes. However, after one year it's starting to rust in several areas (see attached photos), and the front wheel arms are becoming increasingly difficult to raise and lower. Finally the locking cable is extremely rusty as you can see in the attached photo. I'm not sure how durable this rack will be long term.
We have had this bike rack for one year and use it every week-end. My wife has a Trek e-bike (52 lbs) and I have a regular Trek hybrid (23 lbs). The rack is very sturdy and I have no issues driving at highway speeds, there is no movement of the bikes. Very easy to load and unload.

Swagman XTC4 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
So far I’ve just assembled it and took a quick test drive around the block. My initial thought is this thing is perfect. It’s super sturdy and easy to use. My only gripe and it’s not fault of the rack, but it’s heavy…
If you've done any research or read any of the other comments on either this rack, or this seller...rest assured they really are as good as everyone says! I ordered my rack on around 4pm est on a Friday afternoon and within an hour I received an email that said they have shipped my product AND upgraded to priority shipping. Can't say enough positive things about the customer service! When the rack arrived, it took me a little over half an hour to get it set up. Probably would e been faster if I were even slightly mechanically inclined (or if didn't I didn't have to borrow a socket wrench from my neighbor). We finally had an opportunity to load up the bikes and head out for a ride today. As others have said, the first time you load up your bikes, it's kind of like a puzzle to get them situated. Took about 15 minutes. This rack is awesome! Very sturdy and the bikes were very secure. Only racks I have had in the past were rooftop fork mount racks. This is so much easier! On e we got to the trail (over an hour drive) getting the bikes off was a piece of cake. Afterwards, it was time to load them back up and it was less than 5 minutes to get them all on and ready to hit the road. There were other 4-bike racks on the website, but this one had enough great reviews that I felt comfortable making the purchase. After the fact, I'm very glad I did! I can't imagine the $800 rack can be that much better than this, and I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a 4-bike platform rack. I will definitely recommend this rack and etrailer.com to everyone I know.

Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Tilting
This bike rack is a tremendous value. Cheaper and just as good as comparable racks that cost twice as much. The rack has performed superbly. One caution: the manufacturer’s packaging is poorly designed, and insufficient to safely ship a 60+ pound bike rack. The steel parts of the rack shifted during transit and broke several molded plastic components. Saris’ customer service folks were excellent, and promptly sent replacements for the components that were broken in transit. The improper packaging was not etrailer’s fault. Saris should reengineer their packaging for this item.
This is great bike rack. It arrived fast and just in time for our trip in mid July. My husband and I put it together quickly, we looked at a [online] video for how to put it together and went by the instructions booklets. It took us under an hour to put it together. It is very simple to load and unload bikes on it and the bikes stayed stable throughout our 600 mile trip and back. So overall, I am very satisfied with this bike rack. Will now see how it holds up with time.

Curt Bike Rack for 5 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
It was obvious that we received a product that was returned by someone else when the box was overly taped shut, a support collar was broken, and most of the pieces were out of their ripped plastic bags. However, it was a great price to hold 5, 26" and/or 27" Trek bikes. I used a piece of the broken collar and went ahead and assembled the rack. Due to the weight of the 5 bikes it did not wobble that much when driving, as one of the bike tires was up against my car. I can only imagine that if we received an untampered product that this review would have been 5 stars. The picture is a little hard to see, but there are 5 Trek bikes on the rack on my 2020 Toyota Seinna.
We received a damaged box, damaged items, no instructions, the nuts and bolts are completely stripped and not inside a bag. This was obviously used, returned, not checked for quality and sent out. We are extremely upset.
RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. As far as bike racks go, the GuideRail is a personal favorite of mine because it's really well-built and I think it's a great fit on the 4Runner. It offers one of the best ground clearances out there. So if you're taking your 4Runner off the beaten path and you're worried about clearance, I don't think you have to worry about it as much with the GuideRail, and we'll check out that specific measurement later. But just as a rack itself, it's going to have an impressive capability, being able to hold up to 60 pounds per bike.
Kuat Piston Pro 3 Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro three bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. The Piston Pro is a really nice bike rack. It's gonna be a dual wheel mount design, which just means it holds the bike by both tires. What that translates to is zero frame contact, making it a really good fit for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. The one downside to the three bike version that we have today is the weight capacity.
Kuat NV 2.0 Base Bike Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 Base and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Toyota 4Runner. The NV Base is a platform style bike rack, which means that the bike sits on top of the rack. That's gonna make it a little bit easier to load and unload, and it's my preferred way to carry a bike in the hitch. Now this one is also gonna be a really nice bike rack because it works with a wide range of bikes.
Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Toyota 4Runner
Hi Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack on the 2023 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is gonna be a great bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be a platform style, that's very versatile, and that's able to accommodate a lot of different bikes at a premium level. One of the premium features is where it makes contact. It's not gonna make any frame contact and it's just gonna have a strap on one tire and a hook on the front tire. So it's gonna be able to accommodate a lot of alternative frame bikes and carbon frame bikes.

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Door County e-bike rack here on a 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is a pretty unique bike rack in the sense that it has a lift on the back. You plug it into your seven way on your 4Runner, which in this case you will need an extension for, because the included cord does not reach your plug. But you can hit the down arrow on the back of the rack, and you can see, the whole bike rack starts to lower down. This will make it a lot easier to load and unload your bikes from the rack.
Hollywood Racks Destination E Bike Rack Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination E-Bike Rack, here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now it's gonna be great because you can haul two bikes, 70 pounds each on this rack, and it's gonna hold it really sturdy. You've got a lot of points of contact on here, along with some extra features that we'll check out later like an included ramp. So primarily, you're being held in by this clamp up here holding the frame. It's got full articulation and rotation.
RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail two bike platform style bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. So with this platform style bike rack, you're holding the bike by the tires on either side. That's really nice because there's no frame contact, so it's gonna be safe for carbon frame bikes, you don't have to worry about damaging the frame. Safe for alternative frame, we don't have to worry about any sort of bike adapter bars, and with a 60 pound weight capacity, it's even gonna be good for some e-bikes with the battery removed. And something really nice about platform style bike racks is the ability to tilt away.
Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at how the Kuat Piston Pro X fits on our 2021 Toyota 4runner. If you wanna check out the full demo where we talk about all the features and all the specs, check that out here at etrailer, but this is gonna focus on the 4runner and how well it pairs with this vehicle. So first is the features where it tilts away. Why would you tilt your bike rack away Well, if you wanna open up your big hatch. We have this lever here, you're gonna wanna pull that lever down and then this will drop the bike rack down.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris MHS 2-bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. That's gonna be a bike rack that holds the bike by the tires. And that's really great for our carbon frame bikes like we have here, excuse me. Alternative frame bikes and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, we can even fit some e-bikes on here with the bike removed. Again, holding the bike by the tires here is one of my favorite ways to hold it just because it makes it really easy to load and unload.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima OnRamp here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, the OnRamp is an e-bike rack that's going to hold up to 66 pounds per bike and with an off-road capacity or an RV rating of 40 pounds per bike. It's gonna hold the bike really well. You've got the clamp, the cradle up top, holding that tube, keeping it upright, and the two straps on each wheel holding that down in place as well. It is a tray-style design, so if you do have two bikes of similar sizes you could kind of rotate them, lean them, not lean them but set them offset from each other so you don't have any sort of seat handlebar conflict which I really like.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone. Aiden here, at etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Superclamp HD platform style bike rack, here, on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now this bike rack is going to hold the bike by the tires, which means no frame contact. We're gonna be safe to use our carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with the 60 pound weight capacity per bike we can even fit some E-bikes with that battery removed. I like how well it holds it, too. You don't just have the two wheel hooks on the top.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi everyone, Aiden here with each etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination 2 Bike Rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, this is a nice entry-level platform-style bike rack. It's going to hold the bike down here at each wheel with these rationing straps and with this clamp up on the center mast These two operate independently, so if you have two bikes where you have to have the clamp set at the same height, it's not gonna conflict with each other, which I really like. That's a big sticking point for some racks that have this style of attachment. They do also rotate 360 degrees to accommodate for those different style frames.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima HangTight 6 bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota Forerunner. Now, this is a very fun bike rack. You don't often see something that can carry six bikes in one place. If you're looking to carry this many bikes maybe you've looked into a 4 bike rack plus two on the roof, or something like that.
Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Rhino Rack 2-bike hanging style rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is a really nice entry level hanging style rack. One thing I wish is that it had a four bike option but this one's capable of holding two bikes with 33 pounds of weight capacity for each cradle. If you are looking for something that can hold three bikes or four bikes, sorry, you can check out the CURT premium, it's a really comparable option.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo platform style bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, this is a really sharp looking bike rack and it's really solid too. We're gonna be holding the bike by the back wheel strap and a front wheel hook which means zero frame contact, making it really nice for our carbon frame bikes, alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity per bike, even some e-bikes with that battery removed. If you are planning on taking this off road it does have an off road weight capacity of 36 pounds per bike. So just keep that in mind.
Yakima RidgeBack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Ridgeback Hanging Style Bike Rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now it's gonna be a really nice hanging style rack. There's a lot of convenience features that it includes and I really like it. One thing to note with a hanging style rack though is we aren't gonna want to put a carbon frame bike up here that will be damaging to the frame. And another thing keep in mind is with things like alternative frame bikes or kids' bikes we will probably need a bike adapter bar to make this fit.
Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone, Aiden, here with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman XC2 platform style bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now, the way this is going to hold the bikes is by this frame hook right here. So, right away, I'd want to advise you against using this with your carbon frame bikes. It's gonna damage the frame because of how much pressure this hook is putting down on top of that tube. And with any sort of alternative frame bikes or kids' bikes, you do probably wanna pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure you get a good solid hold on top of it.
RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4runner. Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform style bike rack here on our 2021 Toyota 4Runner. Now it's gonna be a really nice quality platform-style rack. It's gonna hold the bike by the back wheel and the front tire right here with this wheel hook. We're holding the bike back here by the back tire and with this front-wheel hook. So, we're gonna have no-frame contact, making it good for carbon frame bikes, good for your alternative frame bikes.

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2 on our 2021 Toyota 4runner. So, the V2 is going to have one bike that you can carry but you can add one more if you decided you wanted to carry two bikes. It is going to work with a two inch hitch but also an inch and a quarter hitch as well. It's gonna be great for your carbon fiber bikes as we do have a wheel hook. We had no frame contact, which is always awesome.
Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Toyota 4Runner
