Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle from the rear of the rack to the back of the bumper at about 27 inches and our ground clearance from the back side to the ground at about 20 3/4 inches. Nissan Murano Bike Rack Questions

  • As long as you have a hitch installed on your 2015 Nissan Murano like the part # 87679 the Swagman XTC2 part # S64670 that you referenced would fit and work well. If you are looking for the nicest Swagman rack the Semi 4.0 part # S64696 would be my recommendation. This rack is also a platform bike rack, but since it only contacts the bike at the tires it would be considered a nicer rack. This style of attachment is great for carbon framed bike or ones with expensive finishes...

  • If you need to transport only 2 bikes on your 2015 Nissan Murano then you have several trunk-mount rack options from Thule, all of which can be seen on the included link. Two of these 2-bike racks include locks to both secure the rack to your Murano and your loaded bikes to the rack. These carriers are the Archway XT # TH9009XT and the outstanding Raceway 2 # TH9001PRO, which is among the most user-friendly trunk racks on the market. The Raceway 2 uses vinyl-coated steel...

  • I checked with Thule and the Thule Gateway XT Bike Rack part # TH9006XT that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2015 Nissan Murano so it would work well for you. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out as well. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out Women's and Alternative Frame Bike Adapter # 64005 to provide a horizontal...

  • Pretty much any platform style bike rack that folds up is going to block a back up camera. But there might be a model that might work for you. Take a look at the Saris Thelma, # SA4229B. This rack is compact to start with so the likelihood of it blocking a back up camera is minimal. Take a look at the video I have linked for this bike rack. I don't think the Thule T2 is going to be a good option. It is a large rack with a lot of material that could block the back up camera....

  • I show that the 2014 Nissan Murano takes a Class III trailer hitch with a 2 inch hitch opening, so yes, it will be compatible with the Kuat Beta 2 Bike Rack, # B202-2, which you reference. If you do not have a trailer hitch I would recommend the Hidden Hitch # 87486, which is a Class III hitch that has a 2 inch receiver hitch opening, as long as you do not have the CrossCabriolet model. To determine if the Kuat Beta 2 Bike Rack will work on your vehicle without clearance issues...

  • You'll need to use a hitch mounted bike rack, as there aren't any trunk mount bike racks that are compatible with your Murano. For a hitch, I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # 13577. For a bike rack, Swagman offers the reasonably priced yet well equipped Trailhead which is available in a 2 bike model # S63360, 3 bike model # S63365 or 4 bike model, as part # S63380. The racks include an anti rattle hitch bolt, but I'd recommend adding a locking hitch bolt/cable lock...

Pros for Hanging: Lighter weight Easier to store Easier to install/remove Less extension from back of vehicle Cons for Hanging: Not compatible with all bike styles unless using bike adapter bar Can be difficult to load multiple bikes because of spacing Have to lift bikes higher Bikes can move if no anti-sway cradles Pros for Platform: Accept many different bike styles Don't have to lift...

  • Owners of the 2013 Nissan Murano most often purchase the Thule Doubletrack, # TH990XT. This is a platform style bike rack that will fit 1-1/4 inch or 2 inch trailer hitch. It holds 2 bikes using wheel cradles and hooks that hold down the centers of the bike frames. I have included a link to a video of this rack on a 2013 Murano for you.
