Thule Hitching Post Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches
The good: I like the way the bikes are held in and the ability to add the upright adapters to the bike frame holders. The straps are quality too. For a jeep with a spare tire, this is the perfect length to clear it. This rack is 5 stars from the bike holders to the base of it. The bad: the 2"receiver adapter and bolt are insufficient. I wish they made this in a solid 2" hitch. The entire setup is held into the receiver by a very short bolt. It only goes about half way into the receiver tube. So your hitch is only "secured" on one side. A hitch pin or bolt should go through the receiver tube completely imo so it can be secured on the other end with a retaining clip or nut. Because this only goes in the one side, the entire weight of the rack plus bikes are held tight to one side of the receiver by the undersized bolt and washer. A few bumps down the road and that bolt loosens. Now instead of distibuting the weight of the rack and bikes on the receiver and post, it's completely up to the bolt to keep you from losing the rack. The bolt threads get damaged too. I took this down a dirt road and nearly lost everything. I had to buy my own bolt with hd fender washers and lock washers to correct this. Thule should've provided this from the start. The current short bolt design where only one side of the receiver secures the rack is unacceptable. This rack is 1 star at best for the connection to the receiver.
I bought this bike rack back in April but wanted to make sure I used it to give the best review. First I want to say I did a lot of research on bike racks and found this one to be the best one to fit my needs. The best price I found was on etrailer.com, at the time it was When I called the customer service to place my order, I spoke to Dan. He was very pleasant on the phone and took the time and listened to what I needed and understood my concerns. I ordered the bike rack and also ordered the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device and the Thule Cable Lock w/ One Key System Lock. Dan suggested I also get the Thule Bike Adapter Bar, which I never even thought of getting. Delivery was in about two business days, which was really fast and at the time of order they were running a special free delivery over $99. When I went to put it together I noticed I was missing the flat cap screw M6 x 16mm, part number #853-5787-02. I emailed Dan and within 24 hours received an email that the part was sent out and also in the email their was a link to track the order. After I received the part I did notice that the flat cap screw was actually in the 2 inch adaptor sleeve. The instructions were very easy to read, and it took me about 20 minutes to put together. I did have an issue when I positioned the stinger into the cradle, with the 8mm locking nut, it was not staying tight and when I took it off I noticed the threads inside were gone, so I ended up going out to Lowes and buying a new one and its holds perfectly fine. I also had a question about that part because it is not a locking part and was worried someone would try to steal the rack. I contacted etrailer.com to find if they make a locking device for this and they said no but I can contact Thule to double check, I'm still waiting for an answer back from Thule. The weather finally broke and we installed the rack onto my hitch, tightened it and it doesn't rattle. When I finally used the rack and put my bike on, it did sway a little but at 50 mph I was very happy with it. The trailer comes out just enough away from my car that I do not have to fold completely out and I can open my trunk with no issues. I am very happy with my purchase and had a great customer experience with Dan. Would highly recommend ordering from them to anyone.

Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
I like the overall design of this rack, but unfortunately after hauling a couple bikes around for a while the point where the crossbar connects has apparently rounded off so the rack swings back and forth. I've used rope to tie the ends of the rack to the car to stop this from getting worse, but it's inconvenient. Note: the hitch connection itself is good and solid, but the point where the crossbar connects to the bar coming from the hitch has gotten loose and there's no way that I can see to tighten it.
I own a 2005 Jeep Wrangler X with 31x10.5x15 oversized tires and wheels. I installed B6196001 HighRock 4x4 Oversize Tire Carrier by Bestop to carry larger spare tire. I needed a bike carrier that would carry our two crusier bikes and clear my spare tire. After measuring, I ordered: -> S64650 - Swagman 2-bike carrier -> 80300 - 7" Hitch Adapter 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver -> RM-061 - Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches Our order arrived very quickly, etrailer.com upgraded the shipping. All these products arrived well packaged and without damage. In 15 minutes I had every thing assembled, installed on my Jeep and bikes loaded. The bike carrier is very well constructed, finish is excellent and easy to adjust. When adjusting wheel loops and loading bikes, make sure you pay attention to bike pedal position. I chose this extension because I did not want to use the adapter that comes with the bike carrier, I wanted as few parts as possible to keep rattles to a minimum and gives me more options for towing. The anti-rattle bolt/pin firmly secures the bike carrier to the extension and the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch keeps the extension adapter from rattling in the receiver. Road tested approximately 25 miles over rough city roads ( including railroad tracks ), county roads and highway. Bikes traveled very well without any rattles. I can remove my complete setup quickly, fold and put in rear of Jeep if desired. I am very well pleased with my purchase. Note to etrailer: Please consider offering Roadmaster Quiet Hitch in black to match receiver and accessories. Paul In the Land of Oz . . . Just South of the Yellow Brick Road!

Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
First-time rack buyer / owner / installer. The rack arrived in a timely fashion, maybe a day or 2 ahead of schedule. It was well packaged. I’m LOVING this bike rack. It was easy to put together and to mount on my new Honda Passport. Thus far, no squeaks in my 2” receiver. Hardest part of initial set-up is figuring out the best way to position two bikes. Trial & error and some patience. The directions weren’t clear as to where the 2 left-over screws went. I found the answer in another review and have posted a pic in case others have the same problem (photo with pen pointing at screw). These screws go in the underneath side of both of the folding arms. They appear to keep the wheel wells from sliding off in case in you drive with an empty, un-folded rack, and forgot to tighten down the wheel wells. The folding arm push / pull pins can be difficult at times. I coated the tips with some lube. That and a little jiggling seems to solve that issue. I guess it’s better for the pins to be snug vs popping right out. I added a small Master lock to the hitch pin (in lieu of the provided cotter pin) as a theft deterrent. I read that a 3/16 shackle lock will fit into the bike clamp down arms to also act as a deterrent. I had an old 3/16 lock that did snugly fit and appeared to be locked. HOWEVER, I yanked on the lock and it came open as there isn’t quite enough clearance for the shackle to lock. I discovered that longer 3/16 shackle locks are hard to find. Have attached a photo of the lock that actually fits and works (Ace Hardware). One lock on the upper clamp down arm will secure both arms as the lower arm can’t be removed without removing the upper arm. The clamp down arms appear to be coated to prevent damage to your bike. I’ve tried a simple rag and ultimately settled on pool noodle pieces as a precautionary measure. I CAN NOT open my tailgate (regardless of whether or not the rack is fold up and in the bike carry position). If that’s a concern for you, then spring for the more costly titling version. My back-up camera still functions.
The Swagman XTC-2 platform bike carrier arrived very quickly from etrailer and in good shape, the actual carrier box is inside another shipper box, which I'm sure helped with its condition. Assembly was relatively quick and painless, even though the instructions could be a little more thorough. Installing the carrier on the back of our Jeep Patriot also was quick, it helps to have an extra ratchet & 3/4" socket laying around for just this purpose. Installing the bikes takes a little patience and trial and error the first time you try and put them on the carrier. It's easy enough to adjust the wheel holders to fit the wheelbase of your bikes, but for us at least, the challenge was trying to swing the vertical support bar up into position after putting on the first bike (closest to the Jeep). We couldn't angle the bike enough toward the Jeep to have the bar clear the bike. We learned that the easiest way to secure the first bike was to remove the ratcheting frame hooks altogether, put the bike in the carrier, swing up the vertical support bar, put in the pin, and then slide one of the frame hooks down on the bar. The outside bike is much easier because you can set the bike in the carrier at whatever angle you need, not being limited by the back of the vehicle. One thing we did to protect the bike frames was to use some foam pipe insulation as cushion between the frame hook and the frame (see pictures). Once you get a system for installing the bikes, it is very quick to load/unload them. The rack seems to be well made and doesn't wiggle excessively when traveling. All in all a good product for a good price, would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a platform bike carrier.

Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier - Trunk Mount
Fits perfectly on our Lexus CT200h. Only on the old LS400, the side straps have to be fastened to the wheel arch edge, since the upper trunklid gap is to narrow for inserting the strap hooks. Mounting of two bikes is (with some routine) quickly done, and they stay safe even for longer and faster routes. For transporting three (mountain) bikes, though, the design doesn't seem big and robust enough. Nevertheless, the price-benefit-fun ratios are way better than reasonable.
We are very pleased with the quality and ease of use for our like-new purchase. From the online shopping experience with etrailer.com through multiple outings already, this bike carrier more than meets our needs. Thank you!

Rhino-Rack Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting
I purchased this bike rack a year ago and I use it A LOT. I had to buy and install a stabilizer because without it, the unit would sway back and forth even without a bike on it (very noisy). This makes removal more cumbersome but since I keep the hitch on year round it doesn't matter to me. The tilting function is fabulous allowing easy use of my RAV4 hatchback. I can even tilt it down with a bike on it. I got the 2 bike hitch. Plenty of room for two bikes to fit without rubbing. Lastly, the hitch has a sizable through-hole on the bottom to thread a good sized cable so I can lock my bike up. Sturdy. I highly recommend.
Easy assembly and install. Took it for a spin day after i received it and it worked well. Heavier than expected. Well built. I'd give it 5 stars if it had straps for 2 bikes. It is a 2 bike rack after all. Pretty cheap move. Now i have to find and order more rubber straps. Keep a 3/4 socket wrench with you because you may have to tighten the hitch bolt after a while. Rack got a little wobbly after 40 miles and needed another turn on the bolt.

Swagman Chinook Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount
Highly recommend the Swagman Chinook Bike Rack! I have been using mine regularly during the last year and have had no issues. It's easy to attach and remove from my Honda CR-V. It's very sturdy and doesn't shift or 'bounce' around when I'm driving.
Truly grooving on my wife's new Swagman Chinook bike rack. She wanted to be able to transport her nice road bike easily without throwing it in the back of her car, and since a roof rack is out of the question, this Swagman model fit the bill perfectly. It arrived quickly on the anticipated date. Kudos to etrailer.com for the email updates to keep me informed of my purchase. Within one hour, it was installed on my wife's 2014 Mazda3 hatchback. The Swagman is heavy and solid, which is reassuring as it makes me feel confident that it will keep the bikes secure. It also makes me feel like I got my money's worth. A ratchet wrench and Phillip's head screwdriver were the only tools required for the easy install. I did my research before purchasing the Chinook model as I was also eyeballing a very similar Thule rack that was slightly more expensive. I spoke with an etrailer.com expert who gave me the lowdown on both models. Ultimately, the Swagman won out because it has a smaller 'footprint' while extended or folded up ... and also can tilt away from the car for easy access to the hatchback area. Very convenient! FYI: Mazda doesn't make a trailer hitch for the Mazda3 as it's a small car with a small engine and has no business towing anything. Thankfully, the Curt company makes an aftermarket frame and trailer hitch that fits the Mazda3 hatchback perfectly with no drilling. Stupidly, I purchased it from another online company thinking I was getting a good deal. Turns out etrailer.com had it for less with FREE shipping. Oh well ... live and learn. Now I know that etrailer.com is one-stop shopping for bike racks AND trailer hitches. (Full disclosure: I had the garage down the street install the frame as it's easier with a lift) Only snafu: the shipment contained an extra set of keys that I assumed was for the hitch bolt lock (there was also a set of keys on the bolt itself). I spent 15 minutes using those keys trying to figure out how to remove the lock from the bolt to install it on the hitch. The keys just wouldn't turn in the lock. I called etrailer.com and Kevin told me to try the other set of keys ... and they worked. So an extra set of keys came with it that did absolutely nothing ... weird! Obviously, I can't speak to the longevity and durability of the Swagman Chinook 2 Bike Platform Rack as I just installed it. What I can speak to is the sturdiness of it, the ease of the installation and my complete satisfaction with the good folks at etrailer.com.

Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Gunmetal Gray
This thing is built like a tank! It is of the best fit and funtion I have seen in a bike rack! Solid as can be, fits my bikes perfectly and looks awesome! Plus it folds completely out of the way to access the rear liftgate on my 2022 Rav4!
Great service from etrailer and the rack arrived as expected. Fairly easy assembly. OK video on Kuat’s site, but didn’t cover the foot pedal. Really glad we got the 2” hitch. It tightened up and we’re impressed with the quality and the stability of the rack. We haven’t done a road test yet, but look forward to putting it to the test. We have a Ford F-150 and it works great. The bikes were fairly easy to load with the batteries out and two people. We do need the strap extenders for our RadMini Step Thru’s. The tires are too big for the ones that come with. Only one set of extenders came with the bike and one adapter for a smaller tire. It’s okay, but since it’s a two bike unit, would have been nice to have both extenders. Otherwise, we are really liking the look and stability.

Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount
Works well for transporting two 29" wheeled mountain bikes. However, after one year it's starting to rust in several areas (see attached photos), and the front wheel arms are becoming increasingly difficult to raise and lower. Finally the locking cable is extremely rusty as you can see in the attached photo. I'm not sure how durable this rack will be long term.
Sturdy, locking pin tightens to dampen sway.

Swagman Trailhead Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
etrailer has the best pre- and post-sales customer service I've ever seen! I started out not knowing anything about hitch-mounted racks. So I wrote to etrailer telling them about my car and type of hitch I was about to have installed. Samuel wrote back with lots of great information tailored specifically to my car. He even included a photo that looked just like my 2017 white VW GTI with a hitch and rack installed. Okay something of a coincidence. But the rest of the assistance I got from the crew at etrailer was just as prophetic. I went into this a novice and came out knowing lots more about hitches and racks and finding the rack best suited to my situation. I have a small car, a class 1 hitch and a heavy mountain bike. I got exactly what I needed. As to the Swagman rack itself, it works fine. If I had a different situation I would probably buy a platform rack as they are easier to load. There's no reason to buy a bike rack anywhere else.
First off, thanks to Jason T. or "Troop". The exemplary customer service he provided is rare these days. Troop made several calls to the various manufacturers to ascertain which bike rack would afford me the most ground clearance as my new VW Golf sits low to the ground and my old bike rack frequently scraped the ground when I went up even a slight up hill grade. His efforts paid off as he found me the best bike rack for my car, the Swagman Trailhead 2 Bike Carrier. It sits up off the ground just high enough that it doesn't scrape on my driveway. It is also sturdy and holds my bikes securely. And, the delivery was amazingly fast. I had my rack in about 2 days! Note to Troop, see my Pittsburgh Pirates Logo on my bumper in the attached pictures? Pirate Fans persevere! The Bucco's will be coming after your Cardinals this year! Thanks again Troop!

Yakima RidgeBack Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Tilting
Check out my other review on the hidden hitch for a 2015 BMW 4 Series for the majority of the review, but this thing is great. Easy setup and install, does all the things it's supposed to do. Mounting and removing bikes is a snap with the included clips (big difference from some of the cheaper variants with nylon ratchet straps). Fits very snugly in my 2" receiver, and pretty solid on the highway and over bumpy roads.
The rack itself is fantastic. Not too heavy, easy to attach to hitch, and very easy setup. The only real downside is if your bicycles don't have a standard frame, you'll need to buy the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bars (~$50 each) in order to be able to mount them on the rack. I will say that smaller bikes (for my 9 year old) can be a challenge to mount with larger bikes as you'll need to finagle the handle bars and such to get them to line up but once you do it a few times you figure it out.
Kuat Transfer V2 3 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat Transfer V2 bike rack for three bikes on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is gonna be a great bike rack if you're looking for something that's gonna be able to haul a lot of bikes up to three bikes and if you don't want any frame contact. What's gonna give that ability is this strap down here that's just connecting to our tire and this ratcheting hook on our tire up here. And that's great if you're looking for hauling any carbon frame bikes or alternative frame bikes. And then we're gonna have the ability to haul 40 pounds per bike.
Saris Bones EX Trunk 3 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we have the Saris Bones EX trunk mounted bike rack, and we're gonna take a look at how it fits our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So if you're looking for a way to carry around your bikes, but maybe you don't have a hitch, can't have a hitch, don't have a roof rack, don't want a roof rack, but you still want something that carries those bikes around, well, this might be the video for you. So there's two key things to the Jeep Grand Cherokee and trunk mounted bike racks. The first is this is the Saris Bones EX. The EX has that extra arched feet up top.
RockyMounts GuideRail 2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts GuideRail on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The GuideRail is a two-bike platform style bike rack, capable of supporting two bikes up to 60 pounds each, held primarily by these dual wheel mounts up either side, which is nice 'cause it avoids any framed contact, so if you we're using a carbon frame bike or an alternative frame style bike, that would be good in this case. One thing I like about this rack is that it does have a pretty aggressive tilt. So as far as any of the racks we tested today, this is the one that tilts the furthest away that I've seen and it gives us plenty of clearance to get into our cargo area in the back of our car, and plenty of room back here in the event that you wanna take a seat after your ride, change your shoes or get something out of the back. So tilting our bike rack back up, you'll hear a click and that's how you know it's in place.
Kuat Transfer V2 Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
How's it going everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Transfer V2, on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Transfer is a two bike platform style bike rack. This bike rack has two different weight capacity options. So for the two inch hitch receiver, that's gonna be able to support up to 60 pounds. The one we have here is an inch and a quarter, and it supports up to 40 pounds per bike.
Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at how the Saris Super Clamp EX platform rack fits on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So the super clamp EX is pretty popular because of its simplistic design, where you have two frame mounts here or wheel mounts. And because they are wheel mounts, no matter what kind of frame you have, whether it's carbon fiber frame, step through frames, or even a mountain bike like this, you don't have to get a frame adapter bar. Also, for some bikes with fenders, this can work out too. Now it has its pros and it has its cons as well.
Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at how the Rhino-Rack two-bike hanging rack fits on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So this is a hanging rack that is ideal if you want something that's more compact. Doesn't take up much space. Since this has the ability to carry around two bikes, it's very, very short. So that way if you maybe have a smaller garage, you need to back up into a tight spot, you already have a larger SUV so this helps with that. Now, hanging racks do have their downsides as well when it comes to stability as well as ease of getting into the car.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at how the Hollywood Rack's Destination two bike platform rack fits on the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. So the Destination Two is really popular as an affordable platform rack. It doesn't really have the premium features you would expect from premium racks, like tilting away. But it still offers really good stability, and it's very lightweight and compact. So if you wanna keep it inside your car or just make something easy for you to lift out of your garage and onto your vehicle, this might be the one for you.
Curt 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
What's up everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We're gonna be taking a look at the CURT platform style rack. Now guys, this is gonna be an awesome excellent stylish way of getting your bikes to your destination. Not only that though, it's still gonna give you a great capacity rating about 40 pounds per bike. You can see not the biggest platform rack out there either especially if you're comparing it to something like the Kuat NV 2.0, which is gonna get you, yes, that 60 pound weight capacity, but it is gonna be quite larger even especially to the side. So I like this guy, kinda how low profile it is, not to get too much room here in the back of our Jeep and of course got that nice copper accents throughout it. However, it does come in multiple colors does come in gunmetal gray, as you can see and the pearl as well.
Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Today, on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail 2. Cool thing about the MonoRail 2, if your family's growing or your love for the hobby's growing and you grab another bike, you can actually add a third bike on the end of this. And there's also a single bike version available on our website too. But if you got a friend, the 2 is gonna have a capacity of 60 pounds per bike. We're gonna have a tire width maximum of five. So, our little cradle here is gonna be great for those fat tire bikes as long as it doesn't exceed 60 pounds.

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at the Inno Tire Hold Two Bike Platform Bike Rack on a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The first thing you're gonna notice with this bike rack is it is a platform-style for two bikes. Now, the way that this secures the bike to the platform is wheel holds on each side. It's not very common that you see that on bike racks, but it is a really nice feature. Many times you'll have a nice wheel strap with a tire hold, or a frame hold. This is a carbon fiber bike, so being able to lock on the wheels is awesome.
Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold Platform-Style Bike Rack, on our 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. This bike rack is an awesome option for anyone that's really looking to take their bike on some serious off-road trails. Maybe not this bike in particular, but this is awesome for your mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, even e-bikes. It does have a weight capacity of 60 pounds, so that's really gonna open the options to what you're gonna be carrying. So as the name implies, tire hold, you're gonna see that this style of rack, it's a platform starting off. So your bike sits on a platform which is generally a better hold for your bike without having to worry about swaying, or moving around while you're driving.
Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
How's it going, this is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks Destination four-bike carrier on the 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Destination is a four-bike platform carrier, and as far as being a carrier, is one of the better values to move four bikes. It is a frame mount where you're gonna have contact with your bike's frame, and then you have two straps along with the cradles that are gonna tie down to keep your wheels and everything stable. As far as how close you get to the vehicle with the bike on the closest position, you can kind of see with my handlebar here, I'm pretty close. Rocking it right here, I wouldn't be worried about it making contact, but it's something to definitely consider when you're making your purchase as far as the length of your handlebars. So let's take this guy off and take a closer look.
etrailer Tilting 4 Bike Rack Review - 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're gonna be taking a look at etrailer Four-Bike Rack.
