Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2017 Hyundai Elantra

Today on our 2017 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be taking a look at the CURT 20 by 48 cargo carrier, part number C18110. This cargo carrier is going to be perfect for getting any dirty or wet gear out of your car and making room for passengers. The raised wall on our cargo carrier, along with the attachment points around the edge, is going to make sure our gear is nice and secure while we're going down the road. The mesh floor is going to make it super simple and easy to clean, and the powder coat is going to give it a nice durable finish. Now this is going to add quite a bit to the back of our car, so I'd like to give you a few measurements. From the back of our bumper this is going to extend out right about 27". Now at the closest point, which would be right here, it's going to come in right about 8" at the closest point to our car.

Today on our 2017 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be taking a look at the Surco 20 by 48 cargo carrier, part number 52017. Now these cargo carriers are going to be great for getting anything dirty, damp, or anything you don't want in your vehicle to the outside. Now I want to give you a few quick measurements here. From the edge of our bumper we're going to be adding right about 24-1/2" to the total length of the vehicle. Now the closest point to the vehicle is going to be right about 3". Now as far as ground clearance goes, the lowest point of the cargo carrier itself is going to be right here, coming in just a hair over 10". Now on our Elantra here the exhaust is pointing down so we don't have to worry about any heat-sensitive materials on here.

Today on this 2013 Hyundai Elantra we're going to test fitting the 24 X 48 Kirk Cargo Carrier, part number C18110. Now this cargo carrier has a great capacity of 300 pounds and also has this nice mesh floor here which makes it a lot easier to clean. And all the way around the cargo carrier we have these points here which will serve as tie down points for either your ratchet traps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you a couple of measurements here. The first being how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. Let me go ahead and measure from the bumper to this point here and that's going to be about 26.5 inches.

In this 2013 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be test fitting the twenty by forty-eight Surco cargo carrier, part number 52017. This cargo carrier has a weight capacity of three hundred pounds, and on the bottom here it has this nice mesh floor which makes it a lot easier to clean, and it also has this rail all the way around the cargo carrier which can serve as a tie-down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your cargo. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first one is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. Let me go ahead and measure from the bumper here since that's the furthest point out. This rail here in the rear, that's going to be about twenty-four inches. For our ground clearance, this point here, that's going to be about eight and a half inches Our closest point will be this rail here, and that's going to be about two and a half inches.

Today on our 2013 Hyundai Elantra, we'll be test fitting the Curt 20x48 Cargo Carrier, part number C18145. Now, all we'll need to do is slide the cargo carrier shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt tight, our cargo carrier is secured to the vehicle and we're ready to load it up. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Now, our ground clearance at the cargo carrier is 9 inches. From the closest point of the cargo carrier to the back of the vehicle is 2 inches and the cargo carrier will add an additional 21-1/2 inches of overall length to the vehicle.

Today on this 2012 Hyundai Elantra we're going to be test fitting the 20X48 Curt Cargo Carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches, part number C18110. This cargo carrier has a weight capacity of 300 pounds. It has a nice mesh floor which makes it easy to clean and all around the cargo carrier we have these points here and you can use those as tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. From the edge of the bumper to our outer edge here, it's going to be about 25-1/2". Our ground clearance to the bottom of the bolt here is going to be about 11". Our closest point to this edge here is going to be about 6".
