Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2011 Hyundai Sonata, we are going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Hitching Post Pro, this is a folding and tilting four bike rack. It's been designed for use with inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. The part number on it is TH934XTR. Now today we are going to be installing this in a class one hitch, when doing so we are going to be limited to a two bike capacity. To begin our test fit, we are just going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch, then line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole. With those in line we've got a provided anti rattle bolt that we are going to thread in. This bolt is designed to draw the shank of the rack over against the receiver tube.

Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Hyundai Sonata

Today on our 2011 Hyundai Sonata we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino Rack folding and tilting 4-bike rack. This has been designed for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on it is RBC044. Now this is also available in a 2-bike configuration if you'd prefer that. That part number is RRRBC045. We're using a class one hitch today for our test fit.

2011 Hyundai Sonata Bike Rack Questions

  • I'd recommend the Draw-Tite Class I trailer hitch, part # 24940, which works well as an attachment point for a bike rack, as well as for light duty towing. Although the Rola TX-102 rack you mention is a good rack, it would not be your best choice if you are concerned about ground clearance. A rack with an angled shank that would provide more ground clearance, like the Swagman Trailhead, part # S63360 would be a better alternative. A locking anti-rattle hitch pin and locking...

  • In order to determine if the Thule Doubletrack, # TH990XT, will fit your 2011 Hyundai Sonata, you will need to take 1 important measurement. Measure from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. If this measurement is less than 6-5/8 inches, the bike rack will fit. The trouble you are having with the rack making contact with the ground has more to do with how low the hitch is, and not the bike rack. Based on the design of the vehicle...

  • According to Thule, the Raceway 2 Bike Carrier, # TH9001PRO, will fit your 2011 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. One tip that I can offer is to be sure that when installing this or any trunk mount bike rack that the base of the carrier and the vehicle are clean to help protect the vehicle finish.

  • I checked with Thule and the Passage 2 bike rack, # TH910XT, is listed as a fit for a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. I have included links to the installation details and a video for you to view. If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes, I recommend using the bike adapter bar # TH982XT, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have also included a link to all of the trunk mount bike racks that will fit your car.

  • The key for compatibility of roof racks and the accessories that mount to them, such as a Thule bike rack, is the shape of the crossbar. That determines if the accessory's mounting hardware can fit properly. For all of the Rhino-Rack aero-style roof racks we offer for your 2011 Hyundai Sonata(all are shown on the linked page) just about any roof-mount accessory that can fit aero/elliptical style bars will work. Let's say you like the sleek OEM look of the Rhino-Rack black crossbar...

  • Yes, according to Thule, the Raceway 3, # TH9002PRO, is a fit for the 2011 Kia Optima. If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my...

  • Between the Thule Passage part # TH910XT and the Thule Gateway part # TH9006XT I would strongly recommend the # TH9006XT for your 2011 Hyundai Sonata. This rack has adjustable arms which will allow them to be adjusted level so that your bikes can be carried much easier on the rack. Aside from that both racks are very similar. If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Swagman Easy-Out...

  • The Rhino Rack 2500 Series Vortex Aero crossbars measure 3-1/8 inches wide and 1-3/16 inches tall. The Thule Sidearm # TH594XT, will fit this size crossbar without the need of an adapter. I have linked the Sidearm to this page for your viewing and purchasing convenience.
