Product came in good condition and was well packed with no damage. The receiver hitch I bought at the same time could benefit from the type of packaging use on the cargo carrier as it was delivered with the receiver broken through the box and several chips to bare metal out of the powder coat that I touched up prior to installation. I would rate both products as excellent with no assembly or installation issues.
I ordered the product. It came. It was exactly what I wanted. It worked exactly how I wanted it to work. Customer service was excellent.

I just got back from a 2,000 mile road trip with this cargo carrier and it worked great. I also bought an anti-rattle lock instead of using the hitch pin and it held the carrier tight and stable. I didn't even notice the carrier was back there when I was on the highway. I had it hitched to my Acura MDX and it had plenty of room to open the rear door with gear already loaded on the carrier. I also used a Highland cargo bag and was able to fit 5 full duffle bags and a couple sleeping bags and still had room to put probably 1 or 2 more duffle bags. A con of the carrier is connecting the hitch pin. You have to align the holes where the hitch pin goes in exactly right or you'll never get the hitch pin in. I had to lift one side up sometimes and jiggle the carrier just to align the holes. It definitely was not a simple task like the etrailer video shows. The difficulty of connecting the hitch pin prevented me from folding the carrier up more often than I'd like to have done. Other than that, the carrier performed flawlessly.

It sits just far enough out that we can open the hatch on our Acura MDX without removing the cargo if it's shorter than about 16". My seven-year-old helped me assemble it, so it wasn't hard to put together.

Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Matte Black
Appreciated great customer service over the phone and was relieved and satisfied to find a great fit between my Thule Pulse L and Acura MDX 2014. Delivery service was top notch as well.
This box worked perfectly on my 2016 Acura MDX with the factory rails. The clamps that secure the box to the rails are adjustable. Fortunately I am tall and loading and unloading the box doesn’t pose an issue. I used the box for a camping trip and a vacation where I needed free space inside. There wasn’t a significant drop in gas mileage or issues when I traveled at 70 mph.

Fairly straightforward installation and seems very strong (by just standing/jumping on it while in the hitch). I have yet to use it but don't plan on any issues just based on the materials of construction. All nylon locking washers. A few nicks in the paint from shipping which might cause rust if you use it in the rain, maybe sand/paint to cover any exposed metal.
Carrier and box will be moved to hitch on 209 Solitude Rv to provide extra cargo carrying ability

Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box - 18 cu ft - Black Carbonite
I replaced an old Thule box with this. My opinion is that the locking mechanism, the clamping system, and the hinges are superior to the Thule's. Especially the locking mechanism. I used to have to wrestle the Thule box to get things lined up so that I could close and lock the box. And the bonus is that this box was less money (than an equivalent Thule) and eTrailer shipped it for free!
We have not yet taken the Skybox on a road trip so I can't talk about the box itself. But I can talk about the buying experience at etrailer. 5 stars!. There was a wealth of helpful information about the various choices for cargo carriers, including dimensions and clearance requirements, and I found the installation videos extremely valuable. Great personalized follow-up after the order was placed and after arrival. The Skybox arrived on time, well packed and in great shape.

SportRack Vista XL Cargo Box - Roof Mount - 18 cu ft - Black
Our SportRack cargo box has worked as hoped / advertised since we bought it over a year ago. What initially attracted me to this particular product was the size and design - it holds A LOT, and the way it opens from the back has helped protect our stuff from getting wet and damaged.
The sportrack vista xl is great! This was our first attempt at a roof mounted cargo box and it has preformed exceprionally well! I purchased this as a gift for my wife, to go on her Subaru Crosstrek. We live in western NC, and have used this to go to the outer banks of NC, eastern Tennessee, and even to bring home supplies from Sam's Club! It's super easy and quick to install, even for one person, and we've been fortunate enough to not have a single leak yet; even though we've been through heavy downpours! And there's plenty of room! If you're in the market for a rooftop cargo box this is the way to go.

The M2205 Cargo Carrier is a well built product and I plan to use it to free-up space inside our 2014 Acura MDX on vacations and long trips for the family and pets. I also bought a bungie net and carabineers to secure oversized cargo. It was easy to build and install. Tightening the A2 nut and bolt requires some effort but that was the toughest part (by no means was it hard). After I installed it I tested the MDX rear hatchback and their is plenty of clearance. Shipping was fast. The only comment about shipping was the box was damaged, but the Cargo Carrier was not. I just used it for a trip between Tampa and New Orleans and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend this hitch carrier!

Finding a roof top box that fits a particular vehicle can be challenging; especially when you're trying to avoid the tailgate hitting the box while maximizing space! I was very happy with etrailer and their ability to help me through the sizing process to ensure a perfect fit on my wife's 2019 Acura MDX. The customer service was superior to most businesses I deal with these days and I will not hesitate to purchase from etrailer in the future.
We really find this cargo box extremely useful. It is easy to put on the car. (2014 Acura MDX with standard factory roof rails) It holds lots of stuff and has made camping trips and road trips.

This roof box is very sleek in design and I love how low it sits. Everything is wonderful with it; it can fit all my camping gear despite being a slimmer model. I gave it four stars because one of the powerclick clamps that it came with fell apart only after 3 uses and now i’m going to have to drop another $70+ for a replacement. Other than that, I would recommend this item.

24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Tilting - Folding - 500 lbs
Super disappointed in this etrailer purchase. The product came in a large box that was fully intact and not damaged. The actual cargo basket was meticulously wrapped and appeared to be brand new as expected. The other components however, like the arm, were in boxes that were smashed, old, worn, and had multiple layers of old tape. The arm itself was scratched and banged up, even rusty in spots. Clearly it was used or had been a returned item. If I wanted a dented, gouged,and rusty Cargo Carrier I would have purchased one used, for half the price. This is not the quality I expect from etrailer.. I have purchased many racks and other items from this company and usually the quality is outstanding. This time they dropped the ball. I have since read other reviews and it is apparent that this is not an isolated incident. I'd have sent it back if it wasn't so damn heavy and awkward to lug around.
This carrier worked out great. The tilt down feature is helpful to have but I didn't really need it. However, the fold up feature was helpful when driving around, so I recommend that as a convenience. The only thing I had trouble with was the hitch bolt. I have a Thule bike rack that I've used with my truck hitch receiver and never had a problem, but this rack's hitch bolt was a real pain to get in at first. Don't be dismayed. With the rack off of the vehicle, I used some WD-40 and some lithium grease on the bolt and then used an adjustable wrench to screw it in and out a number of times. I noticed a bunch of either paint or metal shards gumming up the threads on the bolt each time I removed it. After about 5 times of screwing it in and out, wiping off the bolt with a towel, adding some more grease once in a while, it got to the point that I could screw it in and out by hand pretty easily. Problem solved. I'm really happy with this rack. It fit two big coolers of food and beer plus beach umbrellas and other stuff. It's really strong and sturdy. The biggest issue was not the weight on the rack, but whether the rear suspension on the Highlander could hold it with our other junk in the back plus passengers. :-)

It's made from a nice tough, sturdy aluminum. We have these points here and here, which can work as tie-down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. The first is going to be how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier's installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper, since that's the furthest point out.
Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2011 Acura MDX
Today on this 2011 Acura MDX, we're going to be test fitting the 23x60 Stromberg Carlson Cargo Carrier, Part Number CC-100. This has a 500-pound carrying capacity, and also has this nice mesh floor here which makes it a lot easier to clean. Around the border of the cargo carrier, we have tie down points for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords, whatever you use to tie down your gear. Also at the front here we have these mounts here, if your license plate is blocked off you can remount it in this area here. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements, the first being is how much distance is added to the vehicle once the cargo carrier is installed. I'm going to go ahead and measure from the bumper since that's the furthest point out. This rail here, that's about 27 inches. For our ground clearance to the bottom of this bolt, it's about 12 inches.
