I have been looking for a bed extender with a gate and this is the only one I've found. All others require you to completely take off the bed extender, which is not what I wanted as I use my 2010 Toyota Tacoma (short-bed) to load/unload a 250+ lb lawn aerator. This is not getting an excellent rating only since it is not a 100% perfect fit. It is universal and does work on my composite tailgate. About 1/2 of the screws go into sheet metal within the tailgate with the others just going into the composite material. It works as I would expect. I did have to buy a long clevis pin and fastener since during installation the handles and the gates have a little bit larger gap. I also had to drill out the holes for the upper gate connection, but it does not impact function. Overall, very happy thus far. I can still use my ramps to load/unload my equipment and I now have more room in my truck bed. Plus, I can still get my truck in the garage every night to protect my equipment from elements - both bad humans and weather. Shipping from etrailer.com was fast and tracking was helpful.
