I have not used the product yet but a test fitting seems to be fine. Customer service was excellent. I went out into our warehouse and measured a Ball Mount 2-3/4 inch Rise or 4 inch Drop, part # 80228, and found that the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest portion of the lower reinforcing triangle is 5-1/16 inches. A longer ball mount can produce more torque on the hitch, but if you have a Class III or higher hitch with a 2 inch receiver, it should not pose a problem at all. Is the Hidden Hitch Ball Mount # 80228 Black Powder Coated
The Hidden Hitch ball mount, # 80228, is black powder coated for corrosion resistance. Most of the ball mounts we carry will be powder coated unless otherwise stated (like the aluminum ball mounts). This particular ball mount is considered extra long because it measures 11-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. Measuring for the Correct Rise or Drop for a 2005 Land Rover Range Rover

Why is an Extra Long Ball Mount Needed for a Trailer Hitch on a 1992 Ford Crown Victoria
On some model vehicles the Class III trailer hitches fit (and that also fit the 1992 Ford Crown Victoria) we have found that the receiver is recessed beneath the vehicle far enough to necessitate a longer ball mount, # 80228. Hidden Hitch trailer hitch # 87408 is a popular option for your vehicle. Use # PC3 for a pin and clip. For a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19287 and for a 2 inch ball use # 19262.
