Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado well be test fitting part number AMSC2HD. This is the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball Mount for two-inch hitches with a one inch rise or a two inch drop, rated at 14,000 pounds. It uses a ball with an inch and a quarter shank diameter. Before we begin our test fit, we first need to get our hitch height measurement. To do this, well measure from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground. Now in this case, this truck measures 18 inches.

Keep in mind thismeasurement will vary due to tire size, hitch style, or any other accessories that may change your ride height. It would be a good idea to go ahead and measure yours. Now, well simply slide the shank of the ball mount into the receiver tube and secure it using a pin and clip. From this measurement that we took earlier, we know that when the ball moutn is in the drop position it will measure 16 inches. In the rise position, from the top of the ball mount platform to the ground measures 19 inches.

Thats it for the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball Mount for two inch hitches with a one inch rise or two inch drop, rated at 14,000 pounds, part number AMSC2HD on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado.

  • Using Cushioned Ball Mount with Surge or Hydraulic Trailer Brakes
  • You can certainly use a cushioned ball mount like the Convert-A-Ball # AMSC2HD along with a trailer that is equipped with a surge or hydraulic brake coupler. The dampening action of the cushioned ball mount will not affect how efficiently the surge coupler compresses and actuates the trailer brakes, but it will lessen the jarring felt when the ballmount moves against the hitch pin.
