This Takeda Retain is a short-ram intake that draws air from the factory filter location. The included Pro Dry S performance air filter blocks 99.2 percent of dirt and debris without compromising airflow. And the mandrel-bent, anodized aluminum intake tube replaces your restrictive factory tubing to optimize both air volume and velocity. Stainless steel installation hardware is included.

A. This Takeda Retain short-ram intake has a black housing that helps to block out heat so that the intake ingests cooler air. This helps to lower your engine's operating temperature and improve its performance.

B. Constructed of lightweight, anodized aluminum with a clear finish, this short-ram air intake won't weigh your vehicle down, yet it will withstand high engine temperatures and corrosion. The anodizing process thickens the oxide layer on the surface of the aluminum, creating a stronger metal. A special seal increases resistance to wear.

C. The three-angle adapter ring bridges the connection between the air filter and the intake tube. Its conical shape helps to increase airflow velocity before air enters the intake tube.

D. The aFe intake tube replaces the stock intake tube, and its mandrel-bent design decreases back pressure. It also includes a precision-tuned mass airflow (MAF) sensor pad to prevent false "check engine" warning lights. • I did some research and everything I found says that the 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS models are powered by a GEMA based 4B11 that is a 2.0 liter DOHC engine producing around 150 hp. If you have the stock engine in your vehicle then this Takeda Retain Direct-Fit Short-Ram Cold Air Intake System # AFETR-4201P should work very well for you. If you have an engine in your vehicle that is not the original I would not be able to recommend an intake for you since there would be too many variables.
