A. Made from cross-linked, polypropylene, rotomolded plastic, the air box is durable and easy to install; it simply replaces the entire stock air box.
B. Specially engineered openings in the air box and a built-in air scoop located underneath the air filter supply cold air to increase engine efficiency.
C. The cover is made from brushed aluminum, and it unscrews from the air box for easy access to service the filter.
D. The three-angle adapter ring, located on the inside of the heat shield, bridges the connection between the air filter and the intake tube. Its conical shape helps to increase airflow velocity before air enters the intake tube.
E. The heat-insulating, molded plastic intake tube replaces the stock intake tube by screwing into the back of the heat shield, and its improved design decreases back pressure. OEM intake tubes contain pleats and breaks, which increase turbulence. Because aFe intake tubes are seamless and made from one piece, air flows through without generating any turbulence, thereby boosting horsepower and torque. This intake tube also includes a precision tuned MAF (mass flow sensor) pad to prevent false "Check Engine" light warnings. All aFe intake tubes have raised stops that help to form strong connections and prevent slippage.

Designed for everyday gas and diesel GMC Sierras, it performs well in paved-road driving conditions. Composed of 100-percent polyurethane, it withstands high engine temperatures. Five layers of progressively finer, medical-grade cotton gauze block 98.6 percent of dirt and grime from clogging your engine. These materials yield the highest performance airflow and extended service interval. All aFe air filters are washable and reusable; cleaning and re-oiling are recommended once every 25,000 to 30,000 miles.
