Today, we'll be reviewing the adjustable tire step for SUVs, RVs,and light trucks from Hitch Mate. Rated at 400 pounds, part number HE4040. Easily reach your vehicle's roof with this unique, removable step. Simply place the arms over your tire and adjust to fit. The Hitch Mate provides a sturdy platform so that you can step up to reach your roof mounted cargo carrier, wash your windshield, or work under the hood, and more. It is designed for SUVs, motor homes, and light duty trucks.
The step adjusts up to 8 inches in height and 4 inches in width to fit different tire sizes. The step itself offers a non-slip, textured surface. The step comes fully assembled and folds flat for easy storage. The included bags keeps the step clean and scratch free. The step comes with a one year limited warranty and has a weight capacity of 400 pounds, holds up to tire width of 12 inches, and the step dimensions are 22 inches wide by 10 inches deep.
Now that we've gone over some features and specs, we'll go ahead and show you how to adjust the height and the width of the step. To adjust the height, we'll loosen up the wing nuts on both sides of the step and slide the bolt through the holes accordingly. To adjust the width of the step, we'll push in the spring loaded buttons and adjust the bar in or out depending on your tire size. TireStep worked straight out of the box. Just had to adjust for tire size and I can now reach my fifth wheel hitch. I like that it comes with a zippered storage bag so it doesn't rattle around in the truck. The step is painted black so it blends in with the tire which could create a problem.The only thing I will do is put some fluorescent tape on the step so I remember to remove it before I move the truck. 16025

The Hitchmate tire step arrived in excellent condition and works very well, accommodating my 250# w/o a groan. As per the picture, it also seems to work as an auxiliary table on my RV trailer! Kudos to ETrailer for the fast shipment and excellent pricing. 45441
