The plastic 4-prong plug on the end of the optional hitch wiring loom I bought fitted perfectly into this bracket. All you have to do is drill a couple of holes into the bottom of the hitch cross beam and use self tapping screws to mount it. 10476

This bracket definitely holds the end piece on the wiring very securely. It was almost difficult to push the wiring into this piece, but that is actually reassuring, because I know the wiring will not back itself out of this bracket. Installation was easy. I only had to drill another hole because they were too far apart for my application. The bracket is small enough that I was able to put it in a spot on the hitch so that it will not be hit by anything that traditionally messes up after-market wiring.29657

Must drill, or order 2nd part This bracket is a nice heavy gauge steel in black that matches most hitches well. It seems to hold my four-pole flat connector firmly enough for my purposes. Keep in mind that item requires you to drill holes in the hitch (or elsewere) to mount with the included screws. If you don't want to drill, then be sure to order the "no-drill mount bracket" (either short or long, part 18140 or 18136) in addition to this item. 3533

I installed the trailer and mounting bracket yesterday. No problems everything fitted perfectly. I didn't go to the trouble of lowering the muffler, just slowly using a jack positioned it into place, fed the wires attached to the bolts through the mounting holes in the hitch, and bingo. The receiver fits comfortably just below the bumper, the bottom of which is 9 " above the ground, about the same as the twin muffler exhaust outlets. gp. Considering my car is a new 2013 Ford Edge I was impressed64661

I installed this bracket under the bumper near a section of flat bumper plastic on my 2012 honda pilot. Holes are easy to drill in plastic, so the bracket was easy to mount and secure. There isn't lot of forces on the bracket so the plastic location will do. Pulling the connector trough the bracket to secure it was a task but the final installation looks very secure and professional.59893

No mention is made of where to attach the mounting bracket and, once you figure out where to put it, you are left with the surprise that more of the facia needs to be cut out and there is no guidance as to how to enlarge the cut-out. I purchased the wiring kit and the extra mounting bracket for my 2012 Honda Pilot. It took me about 45 min. to install, mostly because the accessory compartment is so small and hard to make the necessary contacts. Also it is hard to get the protective cap off the connector under the bumper. I also installed the mounting bracket and was able to attach it to the cut out opening for a factory installation, although the plug is pointing down it is all hidden by the bumper cover. The directions could be a little more detailed but I was able to figure it out anyway. Great products and half the Honda price.55158

Product okay but did not use it for a 2012 Honda Pilot EX. There wasn't a very good place to put it. Instead, I used my Dremmel and made two cut out on the 7 pin door that you are suppose to cut out and discard from the bumper. I just left it there and drilled out the middle to fit a 4 pin connector and a second hole for the cap.52765

After reading other reviews and watching the simple how-to video on e-trailer this product (118449) was extremely easy to install and works as expected. I would recommend this to anyone looking to install their own harness on the 2012 Highlander. The only thing that I would like to see added is another thin plug/receptacle that can fit through a splice in the rubber grommets at the rear of the vehicle (so the 4-pole connector can be mounted permanently outside the vehicle). The existing 4 pin connectors on both ends are too large to feed through the vehicle body grommets. Instead I spliced the wires, ran them through the grommet, and re-soldered and heat shrank the wires for a solid connection. I intentionally spliced the wires closer to the plug internal to the vehicle to avoid problems with dust, grime, and corrosion. To mount the 4-pole connector outside the vehicle I paired this product with 18144 and 18140, at the suggestion of customer service at e-trailer. (Customer service was wonderful!) This worked splendidly. I'm very happy with the end result, and considering my total cost was about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of a factory installed version I don't think there's a better option. Incidentally, I have a Curt hitch which has round bars underneath. This posed no problems for the no-drill mount. It seems to secure tight enough to remove all play from the mounting bracket (18140). All in all I'm very happy with customer service and all three products I used for this project.48965

it is a good bracket if you have something solid to mount into . on my So everything was plastic and drilling into the hitch was a no go so I left it out of my install. it was a good finish and the flat plug would fit snug and tight inside it with the raised ridges on the plug. mounting it to a metal surface would work perfect.
