Video Transcript for Spectro Ring Terminal Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at Spectro Ring Terminals. These are available in either bare copper or zinc plated copper with sizes from 2/0 gauge, four gauge, six gauge, or eight gauge. These ring terminals are particularly useful when you're working with very heavy gauge wiring, especially when you're going to make battery connections like we have here. We've got a few different sizes that we've used, depending on the gauge wire. For our thicker wires here, we're using 2/0 gauge and for our smaller ones here, we're using the six gauge so the larger the number, the smaller the wire. All of the ring terminals are going to be made of a high grade copper to ensure optimal conductivity. If you opt for the zinc plating, that's going to also be resistant against corrosion.

You are going to need a set of heavy duty crimpers to make this connection and I recommend using some heat shrink to cover up the exposed wire end.You can pick up heat shrink and a set of Mega Crimps here at Etrailer.com.That completes our look at Spectro Ring Terminals.

The ring terminal you will need to connect your 6 gauge wire to the 2-Pole Socket Connector # PK12801 is the Spectro Ring Terminal - 6 Gauge - 3/8" Ring ID - Copper - Zinc Plated - Qty 1 # SWC57016Z. Now to crimp this heavy duty ring terminal on you will need a heavy duty crimper. I recommend the Deka Hammer Crimper # DW05410 which will have no issues crimping a terminal this size. Lastly I recommend adding heat shrink # DW05402 to the terminal to protect it from the elements. I...
