The product itself is new and will do the job. My only complaints about the parts are, the description said they were for a 3 inch axle, the center hole is on 2 3/4 inches.. will not fit a 3 inch shaft as described. And there were no nuts included with the collars. I will need to take the part with me to the parts store to match nuts to the bolts.59212

Careful if you get this product. I specified for a 3" tube. What I got was ID 2.754". Thankfully I have a lathe and was able to bore it out to size. Would be nice if the parts room checked the sizes before they send instead of grabbing what was on the shelf.51742

The part you received is correct. The flange is for use on 3 inch axles, but it does not mount to the axle. It should be mounted to the should of the spindle right next to where the spindle is welded to the axle. The spindles on 3 inch axles measure 2.75 on the shoulder where the flange should be welded.

• On the Redline Brake Mounting Flange, part # 4-44-1, the five bolts are press fit into the flange. To be removed they would have to be pressed out with a hydraulic press. Once they are pressed out the bolts are not to be used again. So you would not want to remove the bolts from the flange. The flange needs to be welded on concentric and square. • I believe I have what you need. Since you said you have a shaft size of 1-1/4 I am assuming you are referring to the spindle. The Brake Mounting Flange # 4-34 is designed to work on spindles that are 1-1/4 inches in diameter and should work for you. The description says that this flange works on 1-3/4 inch axles with 1-1/4 inch spindles. With this brake mounting flange you will need to use a 7 inch brake assembly. • The measurements of the Brake Mounting Flange for a 3 inch Round Axle, part # 4-44-1, are correct, in that the inner diameter of the flange is 2-3/4 inches. This is because the flange will be mounted to the spindle, not the axle. You will need to check the Outside Diameter of your spindle, as this will mount on the spindle.
