Peak Performance Accessories and Parts - PKCORD

Position your wireless backup camera and transmitter (sold separately) farther apart for use with a long vehicle with this 25' long extension cord. It can help get your transmitter out of the elements and provide a clearer image on the display.

Features:

  • Extension cord adds 25' of distance between your Peak Performance backup camera and its wireless transmitter
    • Ideal for use when installing the camera on the back of a truck, trailer, or RV
  • Compatible with Peak Performance wireless backup camera systems PKC0RA, PKC0RC, PKC0RB, PKCOBU4, and PKC0RG
  • Up to 3 extension cords can be used together for 75' of extra length
  • One end plugs into your camera's cord and the other end plugs into the transmitter
    • Lock tabs on each end provide a secure connection
  • 1-Year warranty

When mounting your Peak Performance backup camera to the back of a truck, trailer, or RV, you might need extra wiring length between the camera and the wireless transmitter so that you can mount the transmitter in the best location for your setup. Moving the transmitter closer to the monitor will give you a clearer picture. And the extra wiring length might mean the difference between mounting the transmitter in your truck bed - where it's exposed to the elements - or mounting it in your cab. To increase the distance between the camera and the transmitter, add this 25' long extension cord. You can combine up to 3 extension cords for 75' of extra length.

Video Transcript for Peak Performance Accessories and Parts PKCORD Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the extension cord for Peak Performance Wireless back-up cameras. This is going measure 25 feet long, so this is going to add 25 feet of distance between your Peak Performance back-up camera and it's wireless transmitter. This is going to be ideal for use when installing the camera on the back of a truck, trailer, or RV. Please keep in mind that up to 3 extension cords can be used together, which would give you a total actual length of 75 feet. The unit is compatible with Peak Performance wireless back-up camera systems. Very simple installation, one end is going to plug into your camera's cord.

The other end is going to plug into the transmitter. On the actual plugs we're looking at locking tabs, so that's going to provide a nice, tight secure connection at the plug-in points. That's going to do it for today's look at the extension cord for Peak Performance wireless back-up camera systems and again, this is going to provide 25 feet of extension.

2004 Chevy

this worked perfect to make the camera cable longer ot get the transmitter box out of the elements "weather" as that box IS NOT WATER PROOF. it would be nice if the connecters were water proof on the cable but not that bad to water proof. the cable worked great to make the camera cable longer to work on a 04 chevy pickup. local stores dont carry this and they should, they evon said they cant get it either. so this was the only place i found it. thanks for making this item for sale. 63793

2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD

Fixed my problem perfectly by allowing me to install the transmitter for my peak backup camera inside the cab of my 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 HD long bed truck. before I moved the transmitter all i9 could see was static when backing up. I also installed two 55w fog light under the frame facing rear and now I can see what I am backing up to and the camera works great in the dark. My only complaint would be that they should make the original cable long enough to begin with for installations with long bed and double cab trucks. The power cable should also be initially longer where it could be cut for shorter installs rather than trying to extend the power cord. 155473

Chevy Colorado

Excellent product just what I needed to complete my installation of my backup camera. As I intend to use the camera on several different vehicles I had to modify the power cord as well as the camera cord ( make it longer ) to do so. I will be using it on my 30 foot travel trailer as well as my chevy colorado. 85259

I have had the peak backup camera on my pickup for years and use it to hook up to my trailers. Backup once and drop the trailer on the ball. Without this extender cable the transmitter is in the weather no matter where you try to put it and you'll find the signal to the display at times is to weak for a clear picture. This cable allows the transmitter to be closer to the display and out of the weather. Word to the wise, when you connect to this cable to the camera cable, use shrink wrap to make the connection weather proof. Thank you etrailer for all the great products and service! 98948

Ive had the Peak backup camera on my pickup for three years. At first I had the transmitter behind the taillight and I thought it would be safe there. After two years it failed because of corrosion in the connector. I purchased another Kit as well as the extension cord and moved the transmitter to the cab. The picture improved and the transmitter is now safe. Be sure to use shrink wrap on the camera connector at the extension. Thanks to etrailer for carrying the extension, its near impossible to find elsewhere.

I ended up ordering 3 of these ext. cords, the 1st one I tried to splice and it grounded out. The 10 ft. cord on the camera with the 25 ft extention still came in about 3 ft. short, so, I used some cobble ingenuity by running the end through a piece of pvc pipe and with gorilla tape and zip ties secured in onto the tongue frame. From the transmitter in the bed of the pickup I ran it thru some cord tamer and out thru a gutted 4-prong plug receiver. Now, when I hookup, I just pull enough cord from the pickup, snap the connectors together, and pull them both into the pvc. Works excellent and keeps the connectors dry. Not too shabby for a 66yr old female grandmother. Thank you for your prompt service and availability of the product. 81137

I bought the extension cable hoping that if I could bring the transmitter closer to the monitor the interference would dissipate which it did greatly. With the GPS and Bluetooth the interference was so bad you couldn't see anything. Great product great service great people at e-trailer. Couldn't find this product anywhere locally and there reviews were outstanding. Thanks so much. 122782

This product (of which I purchased two) are OEM extension cords for the PKCORC backup camera system which I purchased at Sam's Club two years ago. The cables work flawlessly, and will allow me to use the camera system on my new 33-foot travel trailer as well as on the slide-in truck camper the system was bought for (which, by the way, also worked perfectly.) I have shrink-tube sealed the couplers, and will overwrap those with quality electrical tape, as the instructions call for 'weatherproofing' the connections. I ordered these cords at 11p.m. on Sunday night, and received them on Thursday via USPS, at the least-expensive shipping method ($4.99, I believe). Other than instantaneous transmission, the shipping time was quite satisfactory! The cords were well-packaged, as well. In short, I am very happy with my purchase experience, intend to conduct further business with etrailer and recommend the business! Thank you for offering what I needed and providing excellent service! Sincerely, Terry Maloney 32338

New extension cord arrived in original packing, looks good. Pricing was right, took a little longer to get than I would have preferred. This is a replacement for one I used on my 5th wheel and somehow one end got pulled off. The camera is mounted on the rear with the transmitter mounted above the 5th wheel pin. Works great!. 95749

Bought the camera after getting misinformation from the local car parts store. Needed an extension wire or take it back to the store. Thought maybe I could make my own. But took a chance on a web search and etrailer had it, exactly what I needed. As soon as I placed my order they immediately started notifying me of what was going on with it. The shipping dept had my order within an hour or so. I received it fast. I paid for the cheapest shipping and it arrived here in only 4 days. Thanks for having it; thanks for the communication; and thanks for using my employer (USPS) for shipping it. 16338

I purchased 3 backup cameras for my 3 different pickups. Even though I could have mounted the transmitter anywhere out of the weather, I preferred to mount it in the cabs. For two trucks, the provided cord connecting the camera to the transmitter was too short to reach so I needed two extensions. I immediately found these at E-trailer and at a reasonable price. I was very pleased with the ordering process, delivery timing, packaging, and quality of the PKCORD extensions cords. Thanks E-trailer and rest assured, you have gained a loyal customer. 13220

I needed the cord to connect a Peak camera on a 8' foot box pickup. The cord that comes with the camera is not long enough to reach the inside of the cab to mount the wireless xmitter and I did not want to mount outside of the cab. The extension cord was a seamless way to extend the camera to the xmitter. It was longer than needed but I coiled the cable under the carpet in the cab and works great. Wish Peak made various lenghts of the cable. I found this cable on etrailer.com by doing a Google search and the service was great with fast shipping. 102589

The customer service was great! Talked to a real person who answered all my questions. The cable worked out perfectly. Needed to move my transmitter closer to the reciever because I use the camera on the back of my trailer which put the transmitter too far away and got terrible reception. Split the cable and used a 4-way trailer connector to bridge the gap between truck and trailer and put transmitter inside the truck. System now works perfectly. I use the camera like a rear view mirror. 14018

Product as described and shipping was in time frame stated. I installed a peak back up camera system on the back of my 5th wheel camper to help in backing and changing lanes. I knew it would be pushing the distance between transmitter and LCD display in my truck . Sure enough the video would come and go. I ordered this cable to allow me to get the transmitter closer to the wireless LCD video screen in truck. Video when stopped is great ! Have not road tested it . 107536

Ordered the product thinking that I needed it based on reviews. Found out that I did not need it after all. Peak had changed the parts for their 4.3 wireless backup camera, so this cable was not necessary to hook up camera to my truck. The folks at etrailer worked at getting me the part quickly, I was pleased. They like myself had no idea that the parts for the camera system had changed. 217918

I Put The Camera inside the back window of my 5th wheel, and used the extention cord to run to the front where the transmiter sits. Then I pluged into a power outlet there. Now I have a good signal for the monitor. When I park and get set up I pick up the wire and put away or use it to monitor out the side by the door for security. You could use this at Home for lots of things 101056

It was fairly easy to install on my P/U , but if the monitor was bigger, I would be more pleased with it. I had to add the 25ft cord to the camera cord when I only needed maybe 6 more ft. to reach inside the cab. Shorter camera cord , like maybe a 10ft would have been better. I had to add 8ft to the power cord. The monitor is a 3.5 39313

  • Recommended Wireless Backup Camera To Mount On Back of 5th Wheel

  • Troubleshooting Peak Wireless Backup Camera Monitor LED Blinks but No Picture on Monitor
  • I spoke with my contact at Peak, and when the blue LED is blinking, and you do not have a picture, it means that the monitor has power but it is not receiving a signal from the transmitter. This can happen for several reasons so you can check a few things to narrow down and pin point the problem. I am assuming the unit is wired according to the instructions. If so, it will only come on when the truck is in reverse. If the truck is on and in reverse and the LED is still blinking and you...

You will likely need smaller wire then this which you should be able to obtain at a local auto parts store or hardware store.

  • Can the Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera be Installed on a 2007 Honda Odyssey
  • The Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera, # PKC0RB, would work great on your 2007 Honda Odyssey. When installing this system, the camera is connected to the transmitter and to the reverse light wire. The transmitter sends the video to the monitor mounted in the cab. The transmitter needs to be kept out of the elements, so it will need to be mounted in the cargo area of your van. I have included a video installation of this camera below. The installation video is actually on a van...

  • Peak Wireless Backup Camera Goes to Blue Screen Intermittently
  • It sounds like one of two possible issues. Either the connection to the reverse light circuit is not secure so you are getting intermittent power or there is interference from something that is on the same frequency. Check the connection to the reverse light wire and make sure it is secure or make a new connection. To test to see if interference is to blame you could go out to the middle of no where and see if it works then. Sometimes interference can come from a phone, a neighbors...

  • Can the Peak Wireless Back-Up Camera be Used on the Rear of a 17 ft Travel Trailer
  • You can use the Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera, # PKC0RB, on the back of your 17 ft travel trailer, however, there are a few factors that you should consider when installing this camera on a trailer. The transmitter will need to be placed in a location where it is protected from the elements and where it will have access to the reverse light circuit. The monitor and transmitter have a 197 ft range as long as the path is unobstructed. You will need to use the Extension Cord,...

  • Troubleshooting Blue Screen on the Peak Performance Wireless Backup Camera # PKC0RB
  • If the camera is a Factory camera installed at the dealership you will need to take your truck to a dealership of that manufacturer to have it serviced. If you have the # PKC0RB and you are experiencing this problem it sounds like one of two possible issues. Either the connection to the reverse light circuit is not secure so you aren't getting power or there is interference from something that is on the same frequency. Check the connection to the reverse light wire and make sure it...

  • Troubleshooting Blinking Blue Light and No Function of a Peak Wireless Back-Up Camera
If the truck is on and in reverse and the LED is still blinking and...

  • Availability of an Extension Cable for Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera
  • What you will need is the Extension Cord for Wireless Backup Camera System, # PKCORD, which is designed specifically for what you need. It comes with the proper connectors to go from the camera to the transmitter, is 25 feet long, and you will not have to cut and splice any wiring.

  • Extra Wire for Reverse Light Connection to Mount Peak Back Up Camera Transmitter in Silverado Cab
  • The extra cable for the Peak backup camera, # PKC0RB, is # PKCORD. It has the connectors only for the transmitter and camera and not for the connection to the reveres light circuit. There are other places you can tap into the reverse light circuit but any of them are going to require additional small gauge wire to match the wire on the reverse light circuit wire in the kit. If you are mounting the transmitter in the cab then you may be able to use a fuse tap and tap into the reverse...

  • Interference to Peak Wireless Backup Camera and Monitor on a 2013 Chevy Silverado
  • If the 2013 Chevy Silverado has a blue tooth feature or any wireless communication devices in it then that is the exact problem: interference. What you may be able to do to get the best signal possible from the transmitter to the monitor is move the transmitter as close to the monitor as you can using extension cable # PKCORD. Older trucks did not have near the technology that new trucks have so it is not surprising that interference would show up on a new truck and not an older one.

  • Using 2 Backup Cameras at the Same Time with One Monitor
  • It sounds like you want to use multiple cameras. For that I recommend the Swift Hitch 2-camera system, # SH03, which will allow you to view the images from two different cameras (included) with the one monitor that comes with the system.

  • Can Peak Performance Back-Up Camera # PKC0RB Be Wired to the Back Up Sensors on a Ford F-250
  • In order to install the Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera, # PKC0RB, to the back up sensors on your Ford F-250, the back up sensors would need to be connected to the reverse light circuits. If they are, you would splice into the wiring going to the back up sensors instead of to the reverse light wire behind a tail light. It would probably be much easier to install it like in the video linked for reference. There will be less work involved in removing a tail light assembly to get...

  • Extension Recommendation for PEAK Wireless Back Up Camera # PKC0RB
  • To use the PEAK Performance Wireless Back Up Camera # PKC0RB on the bumper of your trailer, you will need the PEAK Extension Cord # PKCORD made specifically for this camera. It features quick installation and by linking 3 of these cords, you will gain a total of 84-1/2 feet of cord (3 25-foot cords and the 9-1/2 foot cord that comes with the camera). The cords come with adapters on each end that will connect to additional cords.

  • Installation Location Recommendations for Installing Peak Reverse Camera on a 2011 Dodge Ram
  • I spoke with my contact at Peak and he informed me that as long as the transmitter does not get wet you could mount it between the cab and the bed of the truck. He did say that if the transmitter is surrounded by metal you may run into transmission problems. He also said that the location you mentioned should work out well for you. I attached an installation video for you to check out also. You may also be interested in purchasing an Extension Cord # PKCORD.

  • Can I Use a Back-Up Camera to Monitor a Scooter on the Back of a 5th Wheel Trailer
  • The Extension Cord, # PKCORD, that you referenced allows you to extend the Peak Performance Wireless Back-Up Camera, # PKC0RB, from the transmitter. The transmitter and camera on this system draws power directly from the reverse light circuit on the vehicle. This means the camera will only turn on when the vehicle is put into reverse. • Will Peak Performance Wireless Backup Camera Fit a 2004 Toyota Sienna Van
  • The # PKC0RB wireless backup camera does not have vehicle specific fits, but you should have no problem installing it on your 2004 Toyota Sienna Van. When you are mounting the transmitter, you will want to locate it as close to the monitor as you can while keeping it out of the elements. • Is Drilling Required to Install the Peak Wireless Back Up Camera Transmitter in a Truck Cab
  • You might not have to drill a hole if you route the wiring for the transmitter under the truck and through the firewall. There may be an existing entry point that you can use to push the wire through. Otherwise you would have to drill a hole (careful not to drill through anything important on the other side). You may end up needing the extension cable # PKCORD to reach the truck cab. I have included a link to a video showing a typical installation for you. If you do end up having to...

The transmitter for the camera has a range of 75 feet. You will not want to splice into the wire that connects the backup camera to the transmitter. • Extension Cable Recommendation for a Peak Wireless Camera to Increase Reception
  • Actually the extension cable part # PKCORD that you referenced would be all that you would need to improve the reception of your back up camera part # PKC0RB. This will move the transmitter of the camera up very close to the monitor which will improve the reception. There would be no need to move the reverse light portion of the camera since that is not what transmits the signal. I attached an install video that shows how this extension cable gets used.
