- You would not be able to mount a winch to a wood bed if you are going to put any kind of load on it. You would need to get the winch mounted to the steel frame somehow. To do this you can use U bolts to attach through the wood bed to the trailer frame, if there is steel frame below the bed. Otherwise you will want to fabricate a mounting location for your trailer.

- I checked with my contact at Draw-Tite and they said that the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch Receiver Winch Mounting Plate, part # 6495, is designed for use with winches up to a 9,000-lb line pull rating. The reason for the 9,000-lb maximum is because he said most all of the front mount receiver hitches are only designed for winches with a maximum line pull rating of 9,000 lbs, so the front hitch on the vehicle will be the limiting weight capacity.
