A dropped fifth wheel can happen to anyone. Even veteran towers have found themselves with crushed truck beds. It's often hard to see a king pin indicator in the dark, so you may not notice that your pin isn't locked in. If you hitch up by lowering your king pin into your hitch instead of backing straight into it, you may accidentally "high hitch." That means your king pin is sitting on top of the jaw or latch mechanism instead of locked into it. To avoid high hitching, always back straight into your hitch to connect your trailer and tow vehicle.

With a BedSaver, a dropped king pin will fall into the specially designed channel and catch in the slot, preventing your trailer from dropping onto your truck bed and crushing its side rails. Nice product. Definitely worth the money. Probably took 30 minutes to install. The attached picture is the install on a 25k Reese elite hitch on a 2012 F45077590
