Roof Mounted Cargo Box for 2009 Mercedes 450GL with 4 Inch Wide OE Crossbars
I have edited a photo for you showing the relevant dimensions of the U-Bolt for the Thule Sidekick. As you can see, the U-bolt will not be large enough to fit around your 4 inch wide crossbars. I spoke with my Thule representative and unfortunately, it seems that none of their cargo boxes would be compatible with a crossbar that wide. Will the SportRack Aero Cargo Box # A90275 Fit a 2009 Mercedes-Benz R-350

Does the Thule K-Summit Chains Include the Correct Lug Nut Adapter for a 2009 Mercedes GL550
The Thule K-Summit Chains you referenced include lug adapters for 17, 19 and 21 mm lug nuts. I did some checking and it looks like you will need to use the 17 mm socket that these chains include. You will still need to check the owners manual of your vehicle to determine if there are any restrictions on using snow chains on your vehicle. I spoke with my contact at Pop and Lock and she informed me that the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock, part # PAL6001, will work to secure your tailgate in either opening situation. It will prevent the tailgate from being opened down, or swung out also. The # PAL6001 you referenced is white, if you were looking for a black one you would want a # PAL6000, if you wanted a silver one you would want a # PAL6002.
