1993 Jeep Questions and Answers

  • Bumper with Winch Plate for a 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ
  • The Westin front bumper # 42-2005 does not have a winch plate available for it. But we do have the Bestop HighRock bumper with winch plate, # B4290801, for the 1993 Jeep Jeep Wrangler (YJ). I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. The HighRock bumpers are great because you can add several different accessories to them. There is a grille guard in black, # B4290601, or in stainless steel, # B4290600. There is also the approach/departure roller # B4290501. A bumpe

  • How Wide is the Opening with the Upper Door Sliders Open on a 1993 Jeep Wrangler
  • The correct upper door sliders for a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with the Sunrider top are # B5178615. For the 1993 Wrangler and these door sliders, only the rear slider will open. According to our contact at Bestop, once opened all of the way, the opening will be 10 to 11 inches.

  • If you look at the installation instructions I have linked for the Bestop Sunrider Soft Top with Fold-back Sunroof, # B5169809, you will see that the top does snap on at various points. This top comes with the correct mounting system anyway should there be some variation between what you have and what the top requires for installation. A replacement skin only is not available.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 1993 Jeep Wrangler Behind a 2007 Chevy Suburban
  • For the 1993 Jeep Wrangler, we only have base plate options (that connect to the tow bar) if the Jeep has a U-channel bumper. You can use base plates # 1409-3. These base plates are compatible with your Roadmaster Falcon 2 tow bar, # RM-525. In addition to the base plates and tow bar, you will also need safety cables like # RM-643, a lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system. For lighting there are several options. If you will not be towing often then I recommend a magnetic kit

  • The Bestop Sport Bar Cover # B8000915 that you referenced is confirmed to fit your 1993 Jeep YJ and is secured by zipper. Check out the installation instructions I attached that detail the installation process. If you are looking for a replacement top for the factory hardware of your 1993 Jeep YJ that also includes tinted rear and side windows and untinted half door skins you would want a Bestop Replace-A-Top for Jeep # B5112315. If you are looking for just the replacement top without the

  • Correct T-Connector Trailer Wiring Harness for 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
  • It is possible that when your Grand Cherokee was assembled, the factory used remaining connectors from the previous model year, but according to a co-worker who once worked for Chrysler, it was not a typical practice and is pretty unlikely. I have edited a photo showing a close-up view of the connectors used on the # 118349 and 118348. If the existing factory connectors on your tail light wiring harness look like those used on the # 118348, then unlikely as it may be, the # 118348 might indee

  • Are there Rubber Nibs on the Back of the Highland All Weather Floor Mats
  • I went out the the warehouse and checked the Highland All Weather Floor Mats to see if there are rubber nubs on the back to help keep the mats from moving under foot and found that the rear protion of the mats do have nubs. The front portion of the mats have a rubber cross hatch pattern to ease installation and help keep the mats from moving. I took a photo of the mats for you to see while I was at it, see link.

  • How To Flat Tow a Raised 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ With RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar # RM-522
  • Towing a raised 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ with a motor home-mounted tow bar like the RoadMaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar, part # RM-522, which will have an upward or downward slope puts undue strain on the entire towing system. For that reason, do not tow if the tow bar is not within the Safe Zone. Which means no more than three inches above or below the center of the motor home receiver. Towing a vehicle with a tow bar that is not within the Safe Zone will result in significant wear and tear o

  • Tips for Installing the Bestop Duster Deck Cover on a 1993 Jeep Wrangler
  • I checked the installation instructions for this Bestop Duster Deck Cover # B9001837 and they emphasize that installation should be done over 72 degrees Fahrenheit, otherwise the fabric will be contracted and it will not seem big enough to install. You should install this over the hardware, making sure that the hardware is lying as flat as possible. I attached installation instructions for you to check out also.

  • Should I Run Lower PSI In My Trailer Tires When Towing An Empty Trailer With My 1993 Jeep YJ
  • You always want to have the tires on your trailer inflated to the maximum tire pressure as specified on the tire. If you run the trailer tires at a lower PSI, the thicker sidewall of the trailer tires would cause the tires to heat up quicker and would reduce the life of the tires. I have linked an FAQ on trailer tires that you may find as a useful reference.

  • Do Any Factory OEM Components Need to be Replaced to Install Engine Oil Cooler # D15602
  • I spoke with my contact at Derale. He stated that you will not have to replace any components to install the Engine Oil Cooler Kit, # D15602. When installing an engine oil cooler, you will need to make sure there is enough room for the sandwich adapter and oil filter. With the adapter in place, the oil filter will stick out about 2 inches further. Make sure you have enough room to remove and reinstall the filter with the adapter in place.

  • Along with the RoadMaster Base Plate to Blue Ox and Demco Tow Bars Adapter, item # RM-033, you will also need the Roadmaster Standard Base Plate Kit, item # 1409-1, for your 1993 Jeep Wrangler. • Brake Lights and Turn Signals Are Not Working on Utility Trailer
  • When trailer lights are malfunctioning, there are many possible causes. As a first step, you will want to use a circuit tester such as part # 40376 and test the trailer connector on your Grand Cherokee. This will help you determine if the problem exists with the trailer or with the vehicle. Test each pin as its function is activated. If you are not getting current at the right or left turn/brake light pins, you will want to check the tow package fuses if your Grand Cherokee was equipped with th

  • How to Wire New Trailer Taillights with Two Black and One Red Wire
  • Of the three wires, one would be the ground, one for the turn signal/brake light, and the third for the running lights. I am not familiar with the wire colors you describe. Your best bet would be to connect to the existing wires in differing combinations until the lamp works correctly. The first step in diagnosing the wiring problem would be check the wires leading to each fixture to ensure that the signal is getting through. Typically, there will be a yellow and a brown wire on the drivers
